Chapter 15: Wrong Date

Chapter 15: Wrong Date
Next Day Tuesday After Class
“Where is Tiff?” Anna asked Eric from upstairs.
“She’s watering the flowers”
“Send her to my room”
“Yes Ma’am” Eric responded sharply before he turned his sturdy physique and began strutting to the door.
Tiffany was the new assistant to replace Lilian for the time being. Eric gave the recommendation for Tiff, and Anna instantly hired her. She is not as experienced as Lilian, but fairly manageable and good at sorting wardrobes.
“Tiff, Boss calls for you”
Tiffany stopped thrumming and swiftly turned to glance at Eric “Am I in trouble?” She raised an eyebrow waiting.
“I’d be glad if she kick your pathetic ass today”
“I see that happening… only if you are the Boss” she formed a silly grin.
“Just get in there quickly” he retorted in a stern manner. He seemed to be so not in the mood for a joke.
“Jeez Eric, you’re such a miserable bachelor. Get over your feelings would you? You’re not the first guy to be rejected by a woman. Now I’m starting to regret being born as your cousin” She huffed as she flung herself pass the front of Eric.
He stood there stroking his temples with his fingers and muttering some curses on his cousin. He has tried so hard to get over his lingering feelings for Lilian, but nothing seemed to work. Its boring and depressing now that Lilian is not around. She was the only one who kept him feeling actively alive in that lonely mansion. Just a day after she had left, he realized how miserable and boring he could be.
Time Skipped
Sitting inside her nice-looking car interior, Anna tapped the screen of her phone and dialed on Nate’s number. She put the phone on speaker and slid it into a pink cradle which was neatly fixed on the windshield interior. She pushed the ignition button and started driving slowly while patiently waiting for the call to get through.
“Yes? Who’s there?” a silvery voice came in through the speaker _ clearly a woman’s voice.
“Hey, ummm… Who are you? I want to speak with Nate. Give him the phone now”
“Nate here. How can I help you?”
“What nonsense. I just said I needed to speak with Nate. Do you not understand me? Tell Mr Thunderberg its Park Anna Ae Ra”
Short silence…
“Sup Anna. Sorry I didn’t save your number. That was my chef Ivy”
“Pardon?”
“Its me… Nate.”
“Yh I know its you. But I thought your chef was a guy?”
“No... Yes... I mean urrhhh... I have two chefs now. Ivy is new”
Anna maintained a serial killer silence. She was freaking sure that something was going wrong somewhere. 1. The woman said “Nate here. How can I help you?” 2. Nate called her Anna, instead of Dove. 3. His manner of speech... totally not the way he speaks.
She quickly hung up the call and turned the steering wheels to the roadside.
What was that weird shit? She tried to keep calm as she narrowed her thoughts to their very first encounter. She does not understand why exactly she always suspect that Nate might be hiding a case of a DID. But whatever it is that he is trying hard to hide, she must find out about it. She pulled her thoughts together and summoned a little courage to continue driving.
Time Skipped
Nate slumped into the sofa and stretched both of his arms sideways. He closed his yes as he tried to engage himself in a deep thought to see if he can recollect another new memory which was not written in the diary. He clearly understood that the woman Anna was suspecting him for something, but he was not entirely sure if it has to do with his disorder or not. He usually keep record of his memories in his diary, but the other stubborn identity inside his head whom he calls willy Nate, does not bother to always update the daily records. Unlike snobby Nate aka Ivy who perfectly go with the flow on her shift, willy Nate only makes things very difficult for him lately. Willy has ended his previous relationship with Martha, he has hurt Martha. And now, it seems like willy is also competing with him in the game to have Anna under his sheets. Snapping back to reality with the vibration of his cellphone, he glanced at the screen to see the same number which he had quickly saved in his diary earlier, just in case willy Nate decides to eliminate the caller ID again. He picked up the call and put it on speaker.
“I’m at your Villa. Can you clear my way in?” the soft womanly voice penetrated through the speaker.
“Uhhh… Okay hold on a minute” He motioned for the telephone “She’s my guest. Let her come in” He ordered the security through another line. “Welcome home honey” he spoke back through the cellphone speaker before he pressed the red button which automatically ended the call.
Now he has to do whatever it takes to prevent this woman from discovering his secret. He closed his eyes for some few minutes in an attempt to pull his thoughts together but suddenly, he felt his body spontaneously jerking and moving forward. His head lurched backward with a sharp pain as though a nerve has been twisted inside his neck. A numb sensation formed around his back before he fell hard into the soft, bouncy bed.
He felt like his mind was becoming forcefully hijacked. Nothing like that had ever happened to him before. The switching had always been subtle and easy, but everything is rapidly changing… his body is changing. And he knows it is willy!
“My shift freak” His body sprang out of bed again in one swift motion as he balanced his feet on the hardwood flooring.
With a wicked snigger at the corners of his mouth, he sauntered out of his room and motioned for the stairs.
“You ready to leave Dove?” He said with a silly grin.
Anna was already following after his figure with her eyes. Lap crossed on its partner as she sat comfortably on the couch as if it were a property of her alimony. “Sure. I thought you changed your mind with the way you talked to me earlier”
He now sauntered his body more closer to her spot. It looked like he does that sauntering on purpose, and not really because he was lacking energy “Nope.” He said. “You know I love rousing people up. Specifically you my Dove”
“I see” She remarked strictly. Her eyes lingered more on his tattooed six packs _ he was shirtless. Some dark blue ink was scattered across his bare chest, along with a combination of jet black ink covering his entire torso. The figure drawn looks similar to a map, but some part of it were like roses, and another part looks like a giant human skull swallowing another small figure of a skull, and the small figure of the skull is also swallowing a mini skull.
“You look so hot” He dropped his weight next to her and she instantly sucked in a startled breath when she felt his hand gliding on her laps.
It was unexpected, and her heart was starting to race hard. He speedily secured his arms around her waist and pulled her close to his shirtless body.
“what are you doing?”
“Shhhh…”
Before she could do anything, his lips met with hers and he lightly brush off the tip of her gloss at first, and then he goes again to explore beyond that. She gasped and began struggling to break away from his grip. She thought she’d love the idea of him being so romantic with her but at this point, she realized she doesn’t. If it were with Marco, it would have been a different case.
“You don’t like me huh?” He backed away with his eyebrows corrugated into an irritating frown. But he suddenly dismissed the expression before her eyes travelled up to meet his.
“No..." She quickly defended "I... did not end my relationship with Jalan Marco. We can’t do this right now”
“Just a second” He shrugged and swiftly stood up and walked away to the refrigerator.
Anna sat there with her heart still beating fast while her mind became stuck now thinking about Jalan Marco. She wants to run into his arms right now. She missed him so much. She shouldn’t be doing this behind his back. Nate is his friend.
“Let’s drink and forget it happened Dove. I don’t know how else to react to this turn off” Nate said as he sat down next to her with two glasses of red wine.
“No. I’ll just take some water” She shifted uncomfortably.
“You can’t refuse a drink from me Dove. Not gonna let that happen”
“Half cup then” She collected the wine glass and slowly took a small sip out of the cool drink “Oh... Do you know anything about Marco’s health?”
“Why do you care bout that?”
“I care... I just care to know” She gulped down more of her drink.
“Oh man. You’re seriously falling for that mute?”
“Ridiculous. We’re just hanging out. And he’s your friend, Nate. Another reason why you should care”
Nate let out a sarcastic laughter “Fuck that... Dove. All I care bout right now is to have you in my bed”
The liquid instantly got caught up in her throat as she gurgled and cough it out on her blouse, messing up the milky material “Excuse m..me. But that is so rude of you” She threw a glare at him.
“Yeah Dove. I want you on my bed now. And I'm gonna have you”
She desperately wanted to slap him right now, but that would be a terrible move... And all of a sudden, she felt like her eyelids were beginning to feel heavy. Her head feels so weird. “What is wrong with me...” She murmured softly “Did you put... something in my drink?” She quickly flung out of the couch but her knees felt cold and she lost her balance and crashed back into his body.
Like the whole world was twirling in her eyes, her body stiffened in shock when she felt herself being heaved up, and even though she could not move, she caught the horrible look on his face as he began to trudge upstairs with her. From there on, her vision hibernated and she fell into a forced sleep.
