Chapter 76

*Jayden*

I joined Sierra but Brian was asleep. I asked the nurse inside about his progress and said that he was naturally sleeping and not sedated anymore.

Frankie walked in looking all harassed. "Is something wrong?"

"Lisa hasn't reported to work for the last two days. I sent someone to The Purple Mirage but she isn't answering the door nor is she picking up calls. How is Brian?"

"He is still sleeping but he is fine," I told her. "If she doesn't show up today, we will gain access to her house and alert the authorities. We can still do your blood test."

"What do you mean Lisa is missing?" Sierra asked. I had forgotten she was in the room.

Frankie looked at me and I nodded, "Lisa hasn't reported to work since Tuesday. Her phone is off network and as you heard she isn't opening the door."

Sierra got up and left the room holding her phone. I went and arranged for Frankie to have her blood sample taken and tested. She received a call and had to go outside to answer it.

I walked back to the room and bumped into Sierra who looked unlike herself.

"Sierra, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing," she said and started to walk away but I grabbed her arm. She flinched and yelled in pain. Llewellyn walked in on us and he pushed me away with anger in his face.

Had I been rational I knew that he did so out of worry for Sierra but the earlier indications blinded me and I swung at him.

He managed to dodge and he swung back at me. His fist connected with my left cheek. Feeling his first punch connect with me was the tipping edge.

I swung another punch at him and it connected with his solar plexus and he stumbled back but did a feint that he used to strike me back.

In the background I heard someone screaming. The two of us continued exchanging blows, and I would like to say that I dished out heavy attacks but he also landed quite a number on me. I was now on top of him and landed some more blows before he managed to get on top and pin me down. He looked at me through his bloody face but he didn't attack me.

He was immediately pulled up by someone and I felt another person pick me up. It was Dave and I supported myself on him groggily. Two hospital security guards were holding up Llewellyn. Sierra was in one corner of the room looking at both of us fearfully.

"Stay away from her," I hissed as Dave led me out. I was taken to an empty ward where a doctor attended to me.

I asked her about Llewellyn and told me he too was okay, nothing serious though he had looked worse for the wear. I told her I would be responsible for his treatment cost. She nodded and then left us.

"You two are just like high school teenagers," a new voice said.

Sierra walked in and stood opposite me. She looked at me and Dave and then sighed.

"Llewellyn told me why you fought but honestly," she sighed. "I thought it was clear that Llewellyn and I are just friends. He knows that too after I told him. Why would you just assume things?"

"I thought-"

"Do you know how much he has helped me these last few weeks?" she asked me. I looked at her hand and saw it was bandaged. I wanted to ask her about it because I know none of us had touched her.

However, Frankie entered and looked at me shaking her head. "You are fortunate that Brian hasn't seen his father acting like a hooligan. I leave you for less than ten minutes and you end up acting like two lions."

After fifteen minutes, Frankie's lab results came back and Doctor Jones looked at me and the others and nodded.

"It was just as you suspected, her blood also has traces of a similar drug that appeared in your results too."

"Chimichanga?" I asked deliberately, calling it wrongly. He smiled and nodded

"No, not the chimichurri," he chuckled.

Frankie looked at us confused, "Is that some code or what?"

"Olga drugged us a few nights ago. She drugged everyone in the house with an intoxicant to make us sleepy as well as going the extra mile to use a hallucinogen on me."

Frankie nodded as if she already knew or suspected it. Lorraine walked in holding something in her hand. She looked at the small crowd before her and then sighed.

"I have some bad news, Olga might have run away because of me."

"No she didn't, but please go on."

"I suspected that the baby wasn't yours so I gave her a time period to get a DNA test to prove it was. I guess she panicked and ran away."

Frankie and I exchanged looks that Lorraine didn't miss. "Is there something I don't know?"

"Olga is still around," Sierra said before either Frankie or I could open our mouths. All of us looked at her.

"I bumped into her just before you got into that fight with Llewellyn. She asked me what I was doing there and I told her I came to see Brian. She asked me how he was and then left me all after warning me to stay away from Jayden. This was the warning."

She pointed at the small bandage where I had roughly grabbed her.

Frankie stood up and took out her phone, she stepped outside and made a long phone call. I knew she was alerting our security team.

"I have arranged for hospital security to keep her out and only authorized people are allowed to visit Brian." She said coming in ten minutes later. "It looks like she came here by taxi, her car wasn't seen entering the hospital compound."

"Something else I think you would like to know," Sierra continued. She sighed and looked at Frankie, "Lisa isn't in her apartment and neither is her car around but everything else she owns is there including her driving license, passport and ID card. Cynthia gained access to her house as she has a spare after I told her that you think she is missing."

"Just what is happening today?" Lorraine wondered. "Jayden, what is this about you getting into a fight?"

I stood up quickly knowing my sister very well, "Frankie let us go to The Purple Mirage and find out what happened. Sierra, will you stay and keep an eye out on Brian?"

Sierra nodded and I left quickly with Frankie but Lorraine caught up with me and pinched me. I passed Llewelyn in the waiting room but he didn't look at me. I felt bad for hitting him but at the moment I had other issues on my mind.

The three of us got into the car and Dave drove us to ThePurple Mirage where Cynthia was waiting for us. Frankie looked around the room and true to Sierra's report nothing of importance was taken. It was like she got up and left unless she was kidnapped.

I raised this concern to Lorraine who had the same thoughts. She quietly made a call to the authorities to report a possible missing person. I looked at Cynthia and told her I hope she wasn't thinking of moving back here anytime soon. She shook her head and just said she was helping Lisa and Sierra out.

Frankie also put out an APB on our security team for both Lisa's and Olga's car. I noticed that Cynthia was quiet but she was listening intently on what we were discussing. Most likely she would be reporting back to Sierra.

The three of us went back to the hospital. Llewellyn was in the waiting room and he looked up when we entered. I was therefore surprised to see that Brian was all alone but awake in his room.

"Where is Sierra?" I asked Brian as I held his hands. He was sitting up on the bed and looked at me. I felt Lorraine and Frankie put their arms on my shoulder.

"Didn't you meet up with her?" he asked me.

"Wait, why would Sierra want to see Jayden?" Lorraine asked.

He kept quiet and looked down. "It is okay buddy tell me I will not get angry."

"Olga is the one who pushed me down the stairs."

A collection of gasps resounded in the room. I felt anger rearing its ugly head inside me.

"I told Sierra the truth and she walked out of here very angry. I asked her where she was going and she said to tell you. Olga told me not to tell you because she would hurt you."

"How long ago was this Brian?" Frankie asked.

"Over an hour ago," was his answer.

I stood up and looked at the two ladies and we walked outside. "What do you think?" I asked them.

"She would have called or texted you," Lorraine said, "Unless she went to confront Olga on her own."

"I don't think so," Frankie disagreed, "Sierra isn't that brave nor stupid enough to do that."

My phone vibrated as a message appeared on my phone. My blood ran cold as I read the contents.

If you want to see Sierra Lane alive, come to the address that I have pinned. If you try to tell anyone about this then I will kill her.
