Chapter 6: Hello husband

“You better move there, Señorita! Kiel has been waiting for you downstairs. He will take you to the office. He will take care of you and take you to your room there. He’ll try his best to orient you about the things, as many as possible.” Mommy was just talking. It does not resonate with those who go back and forth. “By the way! We must be in the office before lunch so you can come with us. Your daddy will introduce you to something important.”

I barely understood anything, but I was only sure of one thing. This is not just a dream.

When I opened my eyes earlier, I hoped that a messy house would meet me. Jihan cried, and Rod was in a hurry because he thought he was late for work, but I did not.

When I woke up, I was here with them again. I woke up comfortably in the soft bed and cold bedroom.

Am I being demanding? Or maybe mommy is right! I might have been drugged by something I did not know!

“Jewel, come on. . .”

“Yes, mommy. I’ll be right there. I’ll be careful,” I said even though I was still very confused.

I don’t even need to force myself. The important thing now, I am with mommy. I can make up for her, just like what I’ve wished for.

“Mommy. . .”

“What, Jewel?” She is already holding the doorknob in my room, but she still turns to me. Looking so disgusted because I could already see the lines on her face.

“I love you,” I added. I just laughed when mommy just raised her eyebrows and looked at me as if taking a bath with me and then finally left the room.

Whatever happens, I’m sure it favors me. I’ll be grateful, and I will accept my arrival here as well as the departure - even though I do not yet know when.

“Did you get it all, Je?” I immediately greeted Kuya Kiel after he delivered, and he told me everything I needed to do. As well as those I need to accomplish today.

At ten o’clock when I finally left the office. According to Kuya Kiel, the maintenance office is on the ground floor, so even if it is a bit far from the office, I have to go. I could have sent them there, but I did not try.

Carrying the small purse in my left hand and my cellphone in the right, I walked down the office with my forehead high even though hundreds of employees were looking at me.

Earlier, they were also like this! If I just could not control myself, I would have made sure they had been exposed before.

“Ma’am Jewel?”

I immediately stopped walking and turned to the little man who had called me. He immediately raised the glasses in his eyes and smiled at me.

“How are you?” I said cheerfully. “I’m okay, I just did a lot of work, but I’m cool with it. I haven’t eaten yet, eh. “

The man burst out laughing, and they couldn’t believe he looked at me as if I had done something shocking.

“Ma’am, is that you?”

I was automatically frustrated. I know I had a bad habit in college, but I have changed! What happened in four years became a life changer.

“I’m sorry. I’m just not used to it, especially since you haven’t been in for two months. Then, when you do, you are always rude–”

I am the one who burst out laughing. I know my brain is really confused, but I can’t imagine that I’m still sulking. Far far away from Jewel now.

“Two months?!” I could not help but suddenly raise my voice at what was said.

How did that happen, and where did Jojo get the information? That’s weird.

Instead of thinking about it again and stressing myself out, I decided to get rid of it in my mind. “Jewel, this is just a dream, and it will be over soon. After that, you will return to your own life and suffering,” I convinced myself.

“Yes, Ma’am! But I’m happy for you to come in again,” he whispered, but instead of asking any more questions, I just smiled at him.

“Have you eaten yet? Come with me, oh.”

I also do not know why. I just feel like I’m okay with Jojo. Even though we weren’t really close in college, I somehow knew that the man could still be trusted.

“I don’t think I can—”

“I’ll take care of that. Let’s go!”

We laughed as we finally reached the cafeteria, which was also at the bottom of the office. That’s good and close to the maintenance office. I can still request Jojo to join me there.

“Come on, Ma’am! Suddenly, the people on your floor are with you, eh. I can’t believe you said that! Maybe your head was hit by a rock or something. . .” He stopped speaking because of my sharp stare. “Just kidding, Ma’am. You’re right at it again.”

I can’t help but laugh at all of Jojo’s stories. He often recounts what I used to do in the office as well as my insults. I did not immediately realize the order as well as my seat at the table. He was just blabbering on like little else but somehow enjoyed it.

“But, Ma’am, if it’s okay for you to answer. . . do you have a boyfriend already? “

I was almost overwhelmed by the pancakes in my mouth. How come he suddenly asks that question?

“Not yet. Why?”

I just sighed and was forced to ignore his question.

Honestly, I don’t just have a boyfriend but also a child.

A son who is so cute and skinny. . . A son that I love dearly.

“I. . . I miss Jihan,” I said in my own words. I also just realized when Jojo suddenly erupted as if still trembling at what I said.

When I told him I wanted to go to the maintenance office, he did not hesitate either. In fact, his grin widened even more because he said he rested for a long time on the mop, which he usually held all day.

When we arrived at the place, we were greeted by the unsuspecting staff. They were busy, so they did not even notice our arrival.

Suddenly, I felt embarrassed, especially since I thought I was already doing a lot of them. I will add more.

See? I’m kind! I am no longer the rude Jewel that Jojo is talking about.

I just breathed a sigh of relief when someone stepped closer to us. His hair is messy, and he is very sweaty.

I can see the weakness of his body, but you will notice how determined he is to work.

Jojo and I quickly smiled as we got closer. He smiled, which caused my whole system to spin.

He looks different. He looked very tired at work and had a few lines of dirt on his face, including his eyes, which were obviously tired but still smiling.

Following the cessation of the world was the constriction of my chest. For a few seconds, I could not breathe. I could not see the place, and I could do nothing but hold back the tears.

“Rod, Ma’am Jewel is going to ask if you can help her fix the aircon in her office.”
