CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE
CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE
Kaiden was murderous, roaring in anger at the intrusion.
“I'm sorry, I'm sorry,” Kora's voice rang out as she ran out of the room, realizing she'd just walked in on us.
I rolled my eyes; however, what on earth could be so dramatic she was barging into our personal bedroom, which was closed?
But Kaiden was angrier than I was so I took time to calm him down. The incident with me and her was still seared in his memory, so I wouldn't expect that he's, in the least, okay with this.
“Let's not think too much about it okay?” I told him, getting up from under him. “Better her than a man yea?” I chuckled but he growled in response.
“I'm a lust demon, gender doesn't matter,” he grunted, making me widen my eyes.
“Ooh, so there's an MFM threesome somewhere in our future?” I said jokingly, I'm too much of a prude for that.
“Baby,” he growled in a warning tone.
“Just kidding, just kidding!” I replied with a laugh, but I didn't miss the way his eyes glinted when I mentioned it. “Let's go find out what was so urgent she had to run in here like that, shall we?” I told him after I noticed his angry horns recede back in.
“I'll see you later, Alaric is being nasty,” he muttered and bent over to kiss me.
I took it up a notch, trying to show him I loved him in all his forms, I didn't like how they acted like they were different from each other.
“Babyyy,” he groaned against my lips.
“Okay, okay, you've gotta go,” I grumbled, moving back.
“It's not like that; if we keep at it like that, you're not leaving this room anytime soon, and whatever it was must have been serious. Kaelith is not a messy demon,” he replied, emphasizing on the K.
“Oh! That's her Demon's name?”
“You didn't know?”
“We're not that close,” I responded, getting down from the bed.
My response made him smile as he sunk back into his human, making me shake my head.
‘Jealous demon’ I chuckled to myself.
I reached for my clothes but they magically appeared on my body.
“I can't believe I used to hate this trick of yours,” I said to Alaric with a smile.
“I'm sorry baby, I shouldn't have messed with you like that. Although I kind of enjoyed your reactions, it's why I call you Spitfire. You will never let anyone walk all over you if you have any say about it,” he said, kissing my forehead.
“Still didn't stop them from doing it.”
“Well, I'm here to add brimstone to your fire, baby; if anyone messes with you, I will make sure they'll never be able to tell the tale,” he promised me, and I relaxed better.
Although I had power inside of me now, I was scared of using it for anything violent. I didn't want to empower the being living inside of me, so it made me happy that Alaric was here to protect me instead.
He also did the same thing, and he made us wear the same thing.
Which was sometimes unavoidable if I ever decided to wear his clothes; he had a lot of clothes everywhere he lived, but his loungewear was in black and black only.
So he had me on the short one that I had to tighten the strings to prevent it from falling off my waist, and he wore the longer pants.
I loved smelling like him, and he loved smelling himself on me; it was a weird addiction, but we made it work.
We got out to the living room to see Kiara, Kora, and a few of the other guys, both Fallen and Demons.
But not everyone.
“What's going on?”
“We were ambushed by Demons from the Greed Den, and Octavio is being stupid; he refused to run away with us because he's pissed at them, and some of the guys stayed back to help him fight,” Malakai replied, close to tears.
That set Alaric in a state of panic, as much as I was.
“You guys stay here, let's go get him,” he commanded, going into Demon Prince mode, “Kora, let's go!”
They both held hands and disappeared into thin air before anyone could say anything.
“Aren't we all supposed to go back together?” I wondered out loud.
“Best to leave demons to demon stuff,” Kiara replied with a sigh.
“Really? How would you like it if I left Fallen stuff to Fallen angels?” I snapped at her, guilt and fear pouring into her features. “Just in case you are not aware, I'm going to be given a crown in hell soon, so pray I never have to pick a side because they've never treated me like shit. They've saved me on countless occasions and protected me, especially from you! It'll be in your best interest to repair whatever stupid feud y'all have with each other. It doesn't even make any sense, with the way you're going at it, you're still gonna be one just like them if you ever die! I'm human and we're not as judgemental as you lot!”
I sunk into a couch angrily after my outburst. She has the nerve to still try to hate my people while literally eating food provided by the Demoness of Gluttony.
How dumb.
“I'm sorry,” she murmured but I ignored her.
I noticed I'd left my phone on the counter so I picked it up.
“What's the name of that club again?”
“You want us to go there?”
“No, I just want to find out if there's any news about them online. I don't want to go there if I'm not needed, besides, I don't have actual fighting skills. I might just get there and start freezing humans.”
Realization hit them, but also myself, as I didn't really deep it before I said it.
To avoid casualties, I'll have to learn more about my ability and also about the creature inside of me.
“It's called Nyx club,” Gru told me, and I remembered when they'd mentioned it earlier, I just wasn't paying much attention.
I searched for it on TikTok, and just as I'd hoped, young people were making videos of the fight, capturing the crazy, inhumane skills the supernaturals were displaying.
“Who's ensuring these things don't get around?” I asked in surprise.
This wasn't the first time someone on our side got into a fight in human spaces yet, very little is heard about it.
“There's an organization that sees that the balance is maintained,” Kiara replied, her voice meek. “They also wipe all evidence after it's done and those involved get fined. It's why some people are in the asylum because they're not as efficient as before, wiping several memories but sometimes leaving one person with the memory of it and no evidence.”
“Oh wow, I can imagine how detrimental that would be. I think Lucifer used them the other time to punish Kaiden by sending him on that journey on his behalf.”
“I think they'll be back safely, I've got some news from other Fallen in the area and they went to help. They're chasing them right back,” Malakai informed us with glee, looking at his phone.
I looked at him with pity, Octavio had lost his soulmate and wasn't thinking about love, yet here he was, getting the young man emotional and scared for his life.
I'll have to have a word with him later.
Suddenly, we heard the large gate open, and we all rushed outside to figure out what was happening.
