Breakfast was quite moody and awkward for the three occupants involved. Mrs Selena had no idea what took place after she left, so she had no idea what was happening, Riona on the other hand looked fixated on eating her breakfast, and she didn’t bother looking up from her plate at all. Black on the other hand was going through his phone, scrolling the news feeds to see if there was any new thing that he should know about. Even the maids that were serving them knew that there was tension in the air and therefore did their utmost best to make sure that they didn’t screw up while attending to them because they could get fired from a minor mistake that they would have overlooked if they were happier.
Mrs Selena on the other hand had stopped eating as she watched the newly married couple treat each other as if they were invincible. They didn’t even let their hands touch when they wanted to reach for something. This was just the first day. There was no way that she was going to sit here and watch them destroy their one day old marriage. She had to do something.
“Ahem, kids…may I have your attention?” She said clearing her throat. Riona heard her loud and clear and in as much she wanted to be furious and ignore her, she knew that wasn’t a good thing to do so she redirected her gaze to her and dropped her cutleries acknowledging that she had heard her.
Meanwhile Black on the other hand decided to continue being an asshole as he ignored her completely. Mrs Selena frowned and cleared her throat more loudly this time around and said in an authoritative voice.
“Danny Black, if I have to clear my throat, one more time because of you, I can assure you that although you may be the Number 1 Mafia Lord in the country, I am still your mother and that gives me the privilege to whoop your ass.” Mrs Selena said as Black quickly dropped his phone like an obedient boy and Riona couldn’t help chuckling a bit. It was funny seeing the Macho lord turn to an obedient puppy by an old woman.
“What is funny, Farah? Tell me.” He said narrowing his gaze at her as Mrs Selena glared at him and said,
“Behave nicely Black. You are scaring your wife away.” She replied as Black rolled his eyes and stuff a pancake into his mouth as Mrs Selena took the floor to speak,
“Well Farah and Black, although you two are legally married, I fear that there is no lost love between the two of you and without love, this marriage is going to crash down before it even takes off.”
“Love? I just knew this man existed two days ago, and on top that, he is a cold hearted murderer who just murdered two men barely an hour ago and still have the stomach to eat as if nothing happened. He doesn’t even feel remorse at all. Why would I love someone like him?” Riona said but thankfully in her mind before she opened up to reply,
“Well it is apparent to everyone here that we are not in love and that means we should just break up the marriage and go our separate ways. Maybe it is just not meant to be.” Riona said trying to come up with a solution but only got more glares from Black who remained quiet but his anger could be seen as the way his cutleries got bent without any more force exerted on it.
“I think we are getting too hasty here, don’t you think so?A divorce shouldn’t be the next big step. I know that this marriage was solely based on a peace treaty but who says that it can’t be more. For instance when I married Black’s dad….may his soul rest in peace…she quickly did a sign of the cross as Black shook his head violently.
“Come on mum, please do not start having memory flashbacks, They are both embarrassing and gross. I don’t want to hear any details of your sex life or I swear I am going to lose my breakfast.” He said as Riona frowned a bit biting her lips as she thought,
“So this man was capable of killing two men without feeling bad but is going to throw up, if his mum starts talking about her love life.” She knew it this man was a complete and deranged psychopath.
“Farah darling, is anything the matter. You look troubled and you seem to be biting on your lips.” Mrs Selena said reaching for her hand to squeeze as Riona looked at her giving her a big smile as she said,
“No, I am alright, guess I just zoned out of the conversation, forgive me.” She said as Black’s mother shook her head saying,
“No need to ask for forgiveness, this is fate’s way of telling me to skip the boring facts and get to the interesting ones, so here it is.”
“You guys know that your honeymoon is supposed to start today, and since plans hasn’t been made, I decided to do it myself. I have decided that we are going to France, Paris for a little chocolate, love and romance. Besides what else screams love but Paris.” She said as Riona and Black tried to protest for two different reasons but Mrs Selena wasn’t having any of that.
“No, it is final and there is nothing any of you can say to change my mind. Besides none of you have the guts to say anything to dispute not especially after the way you were treating each other like invincible. For instance I was expecting to hear screams and moans last night but all I got was Black sleeping in the guest room, on WEDDING NIGHT, of all nights. This calls for my help. Besides Paris is the city of love which is just the best way for you guys to kick start this fairy tale romance, am I right?” She said pinching their cheeks softly as they smiled widely at her, not saying a word.
“Just like I expected, now eat up quickly, Farah we will talk after you have rested and I expect Black to show her her new home before she will be whisked away. I, on the other hand will start getting preparations ready.”
