Stone POV:
What the hell was Ari thinking wearing that gown for breakfast? Surely, she couldn't be thinking to seduce me if she hated me so much. I knew she would die before admitting she wanted me.
But I knew she did. When we were in the hallway, I'd seen the way her nipples hardened through her shirt and I'd been aching to feel them. Then I'd held her against me, tightened my grip around her throat and watched her struggle, her ass pressing against my hard on.
I could have pushed her and made her confess to wanting me. I could have had her in the room when she obeyed my order like a good girl and taken off her clothes.

Then she walked in to the room, wearing that goddamn dress that complimented her skin. I didn't know the colour red could make someone look like they were carved by the hands of the goddess herself in a million years. And her still wet hair that made me want to lean in closer and inhale the scent of her shampoo and run my tongue over her skin.
I lowered my gaze, knowing if I looked at her for one second longer, my hard on would lead me to take her to a room and fuck her hard.
"Did you hear what I said, Alpha?" Sierra's voice interrupted my thoughts.
Then realization dawned on me. Sierra was back from her medical studies so I could use her to get a relief so I would stop craving Ari like a teenager high on hormones.
"Yes, Sierra," I drawled her name. "What did you say?"
Her lips curled into a smile, the fact that I'd totally ignored her hours of rambling instantly forgotten.
"I was asking when you'd get rid of your bed warmer now that I'm back."
My eyes slid up to her. She was now focused on a plate of food she hadn't even tasted, pretending she wasn't listening in on our conversation.
"Why don't you go to my room later tonight, Sierra? I'll answer your questions then." I arched my brow and watched her melt like she always did.
"Sure, Alpha." She stood and turned to leave. "By the way, Ari, if you wanted to seduce the Alpha, at least try harder by using a colour he'd love."
Then she walked away. If only she knew that I never liked the colour red till I saw it on Ari. Still, I couldn't dwell on that. I stood from my seat and walked out before the sad sight of her eating alone ate me up.
As soon as I got into my office, I grabbed my telephone and punched in numbers. "Get Perri into my office now."
Then I began to work on the paperwork before me. Minutes after, the door creaked open and Perri walked in without her usual coat on.
"Taking a day off, doctor Perri?" I asked, leaning back against my chair.
"Not at all, your Highness." She took the seat across from me. "You sent for me."
"It's about Ari. It happened again when I went to Greenie. I don't even know how she knew what was going to happen."
"What do you mean?"
"She came all the way to Greenie as if she knew I was about to transform and my wolf retreated immediately after. I need a stronger pill, Perri. Work on it."
She nodded and stood to leave. "I'll work on the pills. Have you gotten information about where she's from?"
Now that was something I hadn't thought of since I started getting too involved with Ari and her connection to my wolf. I needed to know where came from to establish why Krai was so fascinated with her and why she was chosen to be my mate.
I rubbed my chin. "I'll find out soon."
Perri bowed slightly and walked out of the office while I sent for Kannelle.
"Go out to the streets and find whatever you can about Ari and where she's from. You have a week."
Kannelle gave the usual assurance of getting me what I wanted and left my office. By the time I was done, it was nighttime. I was alone with my thoughts, the same one that had threatened to drown me that morning. I wasn't going lose control of my mind to them just because some girl I dragged from the street seems interlocked with my destiny.
That sounded worse when put into words. I needed a drink and a night with Sierra. That's all.
I got to my room and Sierra had dressed up exactly how I asked her to. In a pair of yellow thongs and what I wouldn't consider a bra as the lace fabric only covered the bit around her nipples, she sprawled on the bed inviting me to play.
