Chapter 271 Tears in the Dark
Chapter 271 Tears in the Dark
The blindfold fell in slow motion.
It slipped from his fingers like silk through water, drifting down until it landed on the wooden floor with a soft, barely audible thud.
My heart slammed against my ribs and my mouth fell open.
For almost a year I had been married to this man. I had kissed him, touched him, given myself to him completely, carried his child... yet I had never truly seen his eyes.
Months ago, he had removed the blindfold when he rested his face against my stomach, but he had kept his eyes hidden against my skin. I hadn't even seen the area around them.
Now... he stood before me.
Over six feet tall, powerful, and perfectly still. The skin around his closed eyes was smooth but... different. Not scarred as I had imagined. It was unnaturally flawless, with the faintest shimmer, like moonlight dancing across dark water.
His eyelids were slightly heavier than normal, framed by long, thick lashes that cast shadows over his sharp cheekbones. There was something unsettling about them, something that made the air itself feel colder.
I took one hesitant step, then another.
"Mi... mi Ravial..." I whispered.
He said nothing. He simply stood there, allowing me to look.
When I reached him, I slowly lifted a trembling hand.
"Can... can I touch you?"
He gave the smallest nod.
My fingertips brushed his eyelid.
A deep, bone-chilling cold surged into me.
It wasn't ordinary cold. It felt... wrong. As though I had touched something never meant for human hands. The icy sensation shot up my arm and settled in my chest, stealing my breath.
I jerked back, staring at my tingling fingers.
Ravial never moved.
The room fell silent.
Then, to my shock, a single tear slipped from the corner of his closed eye, tracing his cheek before falling to the floor.
Another followed.
"Mi Ravial..."
His jaw tightened and more tears slipped silently down his face.
"Please..." The word scraped out of him. "Don't make me.”
Pain squeezed my chest. I didn't understand why letting me see his eyes hurt him so deeply, but I heard the anguish in those three words.
Without thinking, I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around his waist, burying my face against his chest.
"I won't," I whispered. "Mi won't make you. Mi sorry... mi sorry, mi Ravial."
His embrace came instantly, pulling me against him tightly. One hand cradled the back of my head while the other rested firmly against my lower back, holding me as though letting go wasn't an option.
We stayed that way for a long time, clinging to each other in the quiet room while everything left unsaid settled heavily between us.
He never opened his eyes.
And I never asked again.
I held him tighter, my arms wrapped around his waist, face buried in his warm chest as his tears slowly stopped. His heartbeat was strong and steady under my cheek, but I could still feel the tension in every muscle of his body.
Ravial exhaled shakily, one hand cradling the back of my head while the other slid down to rest over the curve of my belly. For a long moment, we just stood there, breathing each other in, the weight of everything still unspoken hanging between us.
Then he gently tilted my chin up with two fingers.
His face was softer now, raw with emotion. He leaned down slowly, giving me time to pull away if I wanted.
I didn’t.
His lips brushed mine once, soft and tentative, like he was asking for forgiveness. Then he kissed me deeper, slow and consuming. His mouth moved against mine with aching tenderness at first, tasting me like I was something precious he was afraid to break. I sighed into the kiss, my hands sliding up his chest to wrap around his neck.
Ravial groaned softly, the sound vibrating through me as he tilted his head and licked along the seam of my lips, asking for entry. I opened for him willingly. His tongue slipped inside, warm and smooth, stroking mine in slow, sensual circles.
He kissed me like he was pouring every unsaid word into it, every fear, every love, and promise to protect me. His tongue explored my mouth with deep, lazy strokes, teasing the roof of my mouth, curling around my tongue, tasting every inch like he wanted to memorize me.
A soft whimper escaped me. He swallowed it, kissing me harder, more hungrily now, his hand sliding into my damp hair to angle my head exactly how he wanted. The kiss grew wetter, more passionate, tongues sliding and tangling together as our breaths mingled. I could taste the salt of his earlier tears on his lips, and it made my chest ache with love.
When he finally pulled back, we were both breathing heavily. His forehead rested against mine, lips still brushing mine with every word.
“I love you,” he whispered. “More than anything in this world or the next. Don’t ever doubt that.”
I nodded, tears slipping down my cheeks again as I kissed him once more, softer this time.
“Mi love you too,” I breathed against his mouth. “All of you, even the parts you hide.”
He held me tighter, one hand still cradling my belly as he kissed me again, like he never wanted to stop.
A few minutes later, we were still tangled together, breathing hard from the kiss.
Ravial’s hands never left me. They slid down my body, pushing the robe open until it slipped off my shoulders and pooled at my feet. I was completely bare before him. He lifted me effortlessly, my legs wrapping around his waist as he walked us toward the bed.
He laid me down gently on my back, careful with my belly, then crawled over me. His body was so warm, so heavy, so perfect. I reached up, pulling him down until his chest pressed against mine. I could feel how hard he was, throbbing against my thigh.
“Mi Ravial…” I whispered, voice shaky with need.
He didn’t say anything. He just kissed me again, deep and slow, as he positioned himself between my legs. I felt the thick head of his cock nudge against my entrance, hot and slick from how wet I already was for him.
I gasped sharply as he slid into me.
One long, slow thrust and he was buried to the hilt, stretching me so perfectly it made my toes curl. My back arched off the bed, a soft moan spilling from my lips.
“Oh… mi Ravial…”
He stayed still for a moment, letting me adjust, forehead pressed to mine. Then I felt it, warm tears slipping from his closed eyes, falling onto my cheeks, my lips, mixing with my own. They were hot against my skin, sliding down like liquid fire.
I wrapped my arms tighter around his neck, pulling him even closer as he started moving. Slow, deep thrusts that dragged against every sensitive spot inside me. His tears kept falling, dripping onto my face, my neck, my breasts as he moved inside me. I didn’t wipe them away. I just held him, kissing his jaw, his neck, whispering soft words between moans.
“Mi love you… so much… don’t stop…”
He groaned low in his throat, hips rolling deeper, grinding against me in that perfect way that made stars burst behind my eyes. One of his hands cradled my belly protectively while the other gripped my thigh, holding me open for him.
I didn’t notice how his tears were seeping into my skin, warm and tingling, like they were becoming part of me.
All I knew was him.
His body. His tears. His love.
And how completely I belonged to him.
