Chapter 85 - HEIRESS'S SECOND CHANCE BILLIONAIRE
Chapter Eighty-Five “Papi’s Big thirty.”
Isabella Kingston.
I somehow managed to convince Gloria to hold the birthday dinner as planned originally, despite her many protests as to whether I will be okay with it or not—it took a lot of convincing, but I convinced her that I will be fine and even managed to help her plan it, offering a helping hand since Grace is too busy with her Gallery’s upcoming exhibition so she could not help.
Despite the busy schedule at work, I still helped plan the birthday dinner, and believe me when I say I enjoyed every moment I spend with Gloria doing just that. She and I bonded and became even closer, so much that I have begun to see a mother figure in her, something I never had before.
With Christian gone for those two days, she tried to get me to move to the Kingston manse and stay with them till he comes back but I declined it. I love her, but I do not want to intrude, besides, I am not foolish enough to realize Mr. Kingston is not so fond of me so I could not bring myself to stay there.
Besides, there is nothing wrong with staying alone, I happen to be doing it for the most part of my life so it does not bother me anymore. At this point, I am used to it. She did not seem convinced at first, but she gave in occasionally.
True to his words, Christian had the media issue tackled, and by Friday, hardly is there any blog with the news of my and Crystal anywhere. That to say does not mean the people had forgotten but it was better. I had managed to handle the issue at work too and hopefully, we would hold the showcase as planned originally with little issues so it all turned out well after all.
I am dressed in a short red dress gown that stops a few inches above my knees. One sleeve is made of pearls, matching the pearl earrings I have on and the other shoulder is sort of a wrap top cinched at the waist before left to flow from there. The bodice is tight and shows off my figure well, and for shoes I paired it up with matching blood red shoes as well as my red lipstick.
Christian did mention that he loves the color red on me, apparently that was what caught his attention to me from the ball two years ago. So, considering its birthday, I decided to wear red—every single article…his favorite color. Hopefully, it remains all in one piece by the end of the day.
I made sure to get off work early, and headed to the Kingston manse early so as to not be late for the dinner party. Christian and I talk on the phone every chance we get, so our relationship is good as ever and he said he will come to the manse straight from the airport so I decided to just meet him there.
While we await his arrival though, Gloria tasked herself with introducing me to her friends and extended family that did not make it to the wedding—and even those that did, we became acquainted. Weirdly enough, no one mentioned my scandal nor stared at me in any odd way. Even if they had such thoughts, they did not show it, thankfully.
At one point, while I was conversing with one of the ladies—a cousin of theirs of over my first glass of cocktail, I noticed the humming become a bit louder. And when I turned around, I realized why. The man of the night gracefully graced us with his presence, as he casually strolled in and was instantly engulfed by a crowd of people instantly trying to gain his attention.
He held up his poker face, offering small smiles here and there as he entertained them but he occasionally looks around, as if looking for someone. Then, while he was on the course of that, his eyes met mine, and I offered him a smile from where I stood.
Christian held my gaze as he excused himself from the group, and then strolled in my direction, uncaring of the eyes that followed him all the way, as his lips slanted into a wide smile. The moment he was close enough, his deep, raspy voice came. “Hey,” His arm went around my waist, and with a single tug, he pulled me into his chest. Leaning his head down, his captured my lips with his for a deep kiss, his other had going around my back and holding me even closer if possible.
My arm went to rest on his on his shoulder, clutching the material of his jacket tightly while the other went to the back of his head, tugging the soft hair there. The kiss lasted for a while, and just as I was at the brink of losing my breath, he pulled back, but not without placing a few pecks, then he truly pulled back and offered me a grin.
I grinned back, breathless as my hand that was on the nape of his neck went to rest on his cheek, caressing the five o’clock shadow there. “Welcome back,” My smile widened as I held his gaze. “Happy 30th birthday,” My voice dropped as well as my gaze to his lips, then his eyes before I added in a whisper. “Papi.”
Christian’s eyes narrowed almost immediately in a panty dropping way, his lips curling upwards in a sexy way as his hold on my hips tightened if possible, pulling me impossibly closer to him. “What did you just say?” He asked, in a deep, and low voice.
I continued to caress his stubble. “I like this,” I muttered instead, meeting his gaze. “You look so sexy with the growing beard. I love it. An older man,” I hummed in an approving manner. “I like it. My old, thirty-year-old man.”
“Love,” he called out in a warning tone, though there was something else in his tone—another emotion too prominent to miss. When he spoke again, his tone was serious and sending chills to my stomach when he repeated. “Say that again.”
I bite back my smile. “I love your beard.” I teased.
“Isabella.” His fingers dug into my waist, but not in a bruising way, just enough to make heat pool down there. Couple it with that deep voice and hooded look, I am close to folding.
And I did. Lifting my head, I held his gaze, then whispered. “Yes, Papi?”
Christian’s eyes visibly darkened, then he leaned down to whisper so only I can hear. “Go up to my room, be a good girl, and wait for me there.” He pulled back to hold my gaze, his expression serious, but in a hot manner. “I will be there shortly.”
I gave him a look, “You can’t be serious.” He cannot. He is the birthday boy, and as his wife, I am pretty much the hostess alongside Gloria. We cannot just leave.
He arched a brow. “Do I look like I am kidding?” No. No, he does not. He looks so serious I would do anything he asks at this moment, if not for how sexy he looks, at least for the ache down there caused by my own actions and words.
I swallowed thickly, pressing my thighs together as I released a heavy breath.
One of his hands discreetly went under my dress, his fingers feathery leaving trails with the edges up my thigh. I took in a sharp breath, tightening my hold on his arm. I could not be any more glad that the others have their attentions now focused elsewhere, no doubt realizing we won’t be apart any time soon, even the cousin I was conversing with had disappeared else I would be mortified reacting this way to him in front of her.
Christian reached the very top of my thighs, right between my legs but he made no move to inch further right where I need him the most. In fact, just as I rested my strength on him and was about to get what I want myself from him, he pulled back, and then whispered in my ears.
“Upstairs. Now.”
I did not argue. I simply swallowed thickly, released a heavy breath with my own darkened eyes, then reluctantly pulled away and made my way upstairs, my limbs heavy and his birthday gift already soaked. My heart beat in anticipation of what would happen…but I was not scared.
No. I want this. All of it. I want all of Christian, and it appears neither of us can wait any longer.
