Chapter 11 Silence Is Louder Than Words

Chapter 11 Silence Is Louder Than Words

Chapter 11— Aria’s POV

Silence Is Louder Than Words

The room did not shout.

That was the worst part.

After Mina’s scream, after my brothers rushed in, after they lifted her into their arms like she was made of glass… the house fell into a strange, heavy quiet.

No one looked at me.

Not even once.

Two of my brothers carried Mina out carefully, their faces tight with worry. Another walked beside them, his jaw clenched, his eyes sharp as he kept asking her if she was hurt, if she could breathe, if she needed a healer.

She clung to them weakly, her head resting against one brother’s chest, her fingers trembling as if she had almost been broken.

“I’m fine,” she whispered softly. “I just… I got scared.”

Her voice was small. Fragile. Perfect.

And I stood there.

Alone.

My hands hung by my sides, cold and useless. My mouth opened slightly, but no sound came out. I wanted to say something. Anything.

It’s not what it looks like.
I didn’t touch her.
She was the one who—

But no one asked.

Not a single person turned back to look at me.

My parents followed them out too. My mother kept wiping her tears, her face pale with fear. My father’s shoulders were stiff, his steps fast, as if the only thing that mattered in the world was getting Mina away from danger.

Danger.

The word echoed in my head.

As they reached the door, one of my brothers paused for a second. Just one second. His feet slowed. His head tilted slightly, like he wanted to turn back.

My heart jumped.

Please, I begged silently. Please look at me.

But then Mina whimpered softly in his arms.

And that was enough.

He turned away.

The door closed behind them.

The sound was soft.

But it felt like something slammed inside my chest.

I was alone again.

The room felt too big now. Too empty. The air felt heavy, pressing down on my lungs until it was hard to breathe. I slowly sank onto the chair behind me, my knees weak, my body shaking.

No one shouted at me.

No one accused me.

No one told me to leave.

And somehow… that hurt more than all of it.

If they had yelled, I could have cried.

If they had blamed me, I could have defended myself.

If they had punished me, at least I would have known where I stood.

But this silence?

This quiet choosing?

It cut deeper than words ever could.

I stared at the door they had gone through, my vision blurring.

So this is it, isn’t it?

This is what it means.

After all the warmth.
After all the gifts.
After all the promises.

When it came down to it…

They still chose her.

My chest tightened painfully.

I pressed my hand over my stomach without thinking, my fingers curling into the fabric of my dress. A slow ache spread through me, not physical, but deep and emotional—like something was being pulled apart inside me.

Don’t cry, I told myself.
Don’t be weak.

But tears slipped out anyway, hot and silent, sliding down my cheeks one after another.

I remembered how Mina had looked at me before she screamed.

Calm.

Cold.

Certain.

She didn’t need to explain anything.

She didn’t need to accuse me.

She didn’t even need to lie out loud.

All she had to do was cry.

And everyone moved.

Everyone believed.

Everyone protected her.

That was her power.

Not her words.

Not her strength.

Her place.

I wrapped my arms around myself, hugging my own body like that could keep me together.

I thought I had found something here.

A family.

A place to belong.

For a moment… just a small moment… I believed I was safe.

But now, sitting alone in this quiet room, I felt it again—that familiar feeling I knew too well.

Being the extra one.

The replaceable one.

The one people choose after they choose someone else.

My thoughts became heavy, slow, painful.

If I stay… things will only get worse.

I didn’t want to be the reason for fights.

I didn’t want to be the shadow between them.

I didn’t want to be the name whispered when something went wrong.

I wiped my face quickly, standing up on shaking legs.

I looked around the room one last time.

This place was warm.

Beautiful.

But warmth can disappear quickly.

Love can change.

And I had learned that lesson too many times already.

I walked slowly toward the window, staring out into the darkening sky.

Maybe, I thought, this is my sign.

Not to fight.

Not to beg.

But to step back… before I ruin everything.

Behind me, the house remained silent.

No footsteps.

No voices calling my name.

No one came to ask me what really happened.

And that silence told me everything I needed to know.

If you want, next we can:

Make one brother quietly start doubting Mina
Or show Aria packing to leave
Or let someone overhear Mina slip up
Or bring Alpha Aiden back at the worst possible moment

Just tell me 💔
