Chapter 67 Beat her at her own game.
I pulled her arm away from my chest and stood to face her.
I suddenly remembered the words of my former general before he died.
Love is a weakness; she is your weakness.
He meant Charlotte.
I hadn't realized what he meant then, but now I do.
Before I met Charlotte, I was unstoppable; I brought gods to their knees, and I fought like I had nothing to lose.
But when I fell for her, it all changed. I suddenly feared death.
Scoff.
Me?
Fear of death?
Years ago I would have laughed if a person told me that.
But now it restrained me; I couldn't let myself get hurt because I knew what it would do to her.
I now feared making more enemies. Fuck, I didn't know what I would do if they came after Charlotte.
I looked at Eloise with anger boiling in my eyes; if I could snap her neck this instant, I fucking swear I'd do it. But that would put Charlotte’s life at risk.
Don't get me wrong.
Charlotte is my weakness but also my greatest strength. She filled a hole in my heart.
“Where do you want to go?"
She purred, “My home."
Home?
She had a home. In the states already?
I followed her as she walked out; she was visibly swaying her hips in that short dress, hoping to catch my eye. As we walked to her car, I suddenly stopped. “I'll send my driver away,” I said.
She nodded.
I walked to Marcus, who sat in the front seat of the car waiting for me, and he wound down his glass as I approached. “Boss? she's not dead yet?"
I adjusted my tie. "She's more difficult than I had imagined,” I said. “I have to go home with her. Tell my wife I love her. Tell her that I would have come back home today if I could."
Marcus nodded, “Copy, boss."
I pressed my lips together in a thin line and sighed. “Tell her I'm okay,” I added.
How nodded, “Will do, boss."
I walked towards Eloise's car and entered the back seat.
She adjusted the seat next to me, her arms wrapped around mine. Minutes later we reached her mansion; just like mine, multiple men guarded the entrance. She led me inside.
“Here,” she pointed at a door. “This is my bedroom, big enough for the both of us." She placed her back against the door and pushed it open, walking in backwards. I followed her in.
The bedroom had a king-sized bed; on another end were three couches lined up together; there were flowers lined up on the desks, and a rich scent of lavender filled the place.
It didn't look like she had just moved in a few days ago.
She slid off her coat; the black dress wasn't just short, it was revealing at her breasts as well. She turned around, and I finally saw the back of the dress; it didn't have a zipper. Instead, it was connected by ropes that obviously went with the dress. She pushed her heels aside and turned madly to face me.
"Okay, Damein,” she walked towards me. “What do you want to do?" She wrapped her arms around my neck.
“I want you to go to bed, Elosie,” she pouted. “I find it sexy when you tell them what to do, but not tonight. I want to be with you."
Her fingers traced my chest. I tried to put up with it, just for the night, and then I could get back to Charlotte, but I felt a wave of disgust as her lips drew to mine. I placed her hand on her chin and pushed her back.
“Come on, Damein." She reached for the zipper on her chest and slid it down; her breasts were now out in the open. They were way bigger than Charlotte's, erect and begging to be touched. “Don't you want all this?" She squeezed her breasts with both hands, and a soft moan escaped her lips.
I moved her from where she stood and aggressively pinned her against a wall. She grunted, "Yeah, you like it rough?"
Her face twisted into a lewd frown as she flicked her nipples. “You know you want to touch it,” she said seductively.
I looked away; no woman's boys could compare to Charlotte's, but I still had to respect her by not looking at another woman. “Cover up,”
“No,” she reached for my suit and tried to take it off.
I spun her around and placed her chest against the wall. “Easy, you are turning me on,” she teased.
"Eloise, if I'm ever going to touch you, I'll do it on my own accord; you cannot tease me, do you understand?"
She hissed in disappointment, "Fine."
I pulled away from her. "Cover up,” I instructed, and she obeyed, zipping up her dress.
I just realized, avoiding Eloise wasn't the way to protect Charlotte; giving her what she wanted was my attention.
I walked to her and stroked the bare skin between her breasts; her breath hitched, and the fierceness that once burned in her eyes dimmed. I saw the girl that I knew years ago, the sweet innocent girl.
“Do you want me to touch you?" I asked, my voice a subtle growl.
“More than anything,” she whispered back.
“Then earn it,” I said and pulled away from her. “Be a good girl and I'll touch you."
“I will." She stepped forward. “So can you touch me now."
I shook my head, “In due time."
A smile curled at her lips. “So there's a chance for me?"
I nodded; it was a lie I told to make my wife's life.
