Chapter 49 Blood for blood
~~Alender's POV~~
I couldn't forget the fear in Ezera’s eyes when I saw her tied up in Celeste's warehouse. I wasted no time to put a bullet through anybody who stood in the way of getting her.
As I went back to the hotel, I carried Ezera in my arms; she wasn't sleeping, I just wanted to hold her. I drew her closer to my chest as I felt her tremble. “It's okay, I got you,” I assured her.
My men stood outside the bedroom as I carried her inside. I led her to the bed and placed her to sit. She was quiet all through the ride home. I sat beside her and placed my arm around her. “Are you hungry?”
Her gaze was fixed on the floor as she shook her head. The once gorgeous dress she had worn to the party was now covered in dirt, and her hair was messy.
“I'm sorry I didn't come earlier; I tried desperately to find you.”
“You found me,” her voice shook.
I quickly took her chin and turned her face to meet mine; my heart sank as I swallowed the lump in her throat , “Please, don't cry; it's killing me,” I choked.
She grabbed my shoulder and instantly straddled me as she pulled me into a tight hug. I gripped her waist tightly as she sobbed, “I thought I was going to die.”
I rubbed her back and raked my fingers through her hair. “You know I will never let that happen.”
She pulled back, and our gazes met. Under the dim light of the hotel bedroom, I could see her grey eyes staring passionately at me. She cupped my face with her shaky hands. “I love you,” her breath shook, and tears streamed down her cheeks. “You were all I could think of when Celeste had me…I thought…” I thought I would never see you again.”
Her words made my heart race rapidly. “I love you too,” I responded, my throat moving as I swallowed. “With all of my heart.” I placed a peck on her lips. “You don't have to be scared anymore.”
She placed her forehead against mine and sniffed, “How did I fall so hard for you?”
“My looks,”
She chuckled, “Please don't make me laugh…I have a headache.”
My expression suddenly turned serious. “I'll call a doctor.” I tried to lift her off me, but she grabbed my hand and shook her head.
“Just stay here with me.”
I gripped her waist tightly as I moved into bed and lay with her on top of me. Her breath slowly steadied. “You should eat something. How long has it been since you ate?” I asked, genuinely worried about her health.
She slid off me and lay on the bed. “I lost my appetite.”
I instantly climbed over her, supporting my weight with my arm. “You really don’t want anything?”
She swallowed, her gaze scanning my face, her hands slowly wrapped around my shirt, and squeezed it tightly. “I want you.”
Our gazes lingered. “Ezera…” Before I could finish my sentence, she pulled me in and pressed her lips against mine. I couldn't pull away; heck, I would be stupid to pull away from her.
I leaned into the kiss and sucked on her soft lips like it depended on my life. “I missed you,” my fingers curled on her hips as I spoke.
She reached for her dress and undid the buttons, her gaze never leaving mine. “Prove it,” she whispered.
I gazed at her supple breasts and then back at her. I shamelessly hardened instantly. “I can't. You are obviously in pain and have a headache.”
“It doesn't matter.” She wrapped her legs around my hips and pushed me against her.
My jaw clenched. “Fuck Ezera…if you knew how much it takes to resist you, you wouldn't do that.”
“I don't want you to resist.” She kisses my face and my lips.
My hands moved to her breasts, and her smile curled at her lips as I squeezed them; my fingers strolled down her body and grabbed the hem of her dress as I lifted it, my fingers moving up her thigh.
Her frown of pleasure suddenly twisted to pain, and I froze. “What was that?” She shook her head, “Nothing.”
“No, it's something.” I knelt before her on the bed and lifted her up; my heart sank as I saw the bruise darkening her thigh.
I looked up to meet her gaze; she pressed her lips together.
“She hit you?”
“It's nothing.”
“Shit,” I pulled her up from the bed and slid her dress off, tossing it to the ground. I gazed at her naked body with trembling hands and red bruises everywhere. “She fucking hit you?!” I barked in anger, my voice vibrating through the air.
"I'm fine, Alex," her voice was tender.
I grazed my hand on the bruise on her shoulder, and she winced. “Fuck!” I slid out of bed. I had already shot Celeste, and it pissed me off that there was nothing I could do about the anger I felt; I couldn't take my anger out on a dead person.
I grabbed a vase beside me and smashed it against the floor, the glass shattering into pieces. I turned to face her. “We are going to a hospital.”
The doctor had checked her for internal bruises; fortunately, she didn't have any. Most parts of her body were wrapped with a bandage to prevent swelling.
I sat beside her bed; she was dressed in a white hospital dress. “I swear I didn't know Celeste hit you. Why didn't you tell me?” My brows pinched together.
“You were so happy to see me, I didn't want to ruin it.” She grabbed my hand.
“Please don't do that again; tell me when you hurt.”
Her smile warmed my heart, but I still worried.
~~Damien's POV~~
I had just gotten off the phone with one of the soldiers at the hospital; Charlotte still hasn't woken up yet.
I turned to Celeste with a knife in my hand.
Her eyes were wide with fear; she shook, struggling to free herself from the straps that bound her, but it was useless. This image of her made me smile.
I began to walk towards her; my movement was slow and steady.
“Stop,Stop, Stop, you bastard!” she shouted in fear.
“Oh… Celeste,” I scoffed as I grabbed her arm, “Stop? I haven't even started yet.” Her screams filled the place as I dug the knife into her skin and slid it down to her wrist, careful to not hit any vital spot that could cause her death.
I wanted her pain; she had to be alive for it.
“This is for my wife,” I said in a calm tone, and I dug the knife into her arms and twisted it.
Her screams grew louder, low and guttural.
