Chapter 32 Chapter 32
Chapter 32 Chapter 32
Bailey’s POV
For the third time that evening, I tried to scrub every inch of my body that Nathaniel had touched, no—violated. My hands moved frantically, but no matter what I did, the memory remained, burned into my skin and my mind. My body had betrayed me completely. One moment I gasped for air as he licked my neck, tracing circles over the most intimate parts of me. I hated it. I loved it. And most of all, I hated myself for responding.
What had gotten into me? Was it the bond? The full Moon amplifying everything? Whatever it was, I had to control it. I couldn’t give in—not to him, not here, not ever. I had to keep my wits about me if I wanted to protect my family and free Spike. Any attempt to rebel now would put them in danger. Nathaniel would kill them without a second thought.
After the incident, he hadn’t returned to the bedroom. Apparently, the bond alone was enough to keep me where he wanted. I couldn’t wander freely, but at least I was safe from the dark heart’s raw, uncontrollable power.
I scrubbed harder, in a futile attempt to erase his touch from my skin. I was still wet, still flushed, still burning with need I didn’t want. My mind was no help at all—images of his lips on mine, his tongue teasing me, his hands exploring me flashed relentlessly, forcing my pulse to hammer against my ribcage. Pull yourself together, woman! I scolded myself, but my body refused to obey.
I finally dressed in the nightgown Kara had left me—a soft, sexy thing in light blue with delicate white lace. It covered enough to feel safe, yet the V-shaped cleavage reminded me of my femininity. Kneeling under the covers, I let sleep claim me, desperate to escape my thoughts.
My eyes snapped open.
A sound made my blood run cold—a moan of pleasure, raw and urgent. I froze. My surroundings were unfamiliar, a smaller room bathed in the pale glow of the Moon.
Then I saw her. Kara. Naked. Sweat glistening over her body, hair a tangled mess on the pillow. Her chest heaving. Her lips parted in moans of ecstasy. And I was there—inside Nathaniel. I was seeing everything through his eyes.
“Oh no…” My stomach twisted violently.
Kara grabbed my—Nathaniel’s—head, urging my lips toward hers, pleading, “I want you to see me! To feel me! I want all of you!”
I shoved her hands away instinctively, pinning them above her head. What am I doing?!
Looking down, I saw the impossible. Nathaniel’s—my?—body was fully erect, penetrating her with hard, brutal thrusts. Kara’s moans were loud and insistent, pleading for more. Every motion, every slap of hips, every shudder and gasp was mine to witness.
I felt my heart hammer. My chest ached. My body burned. I could feel her wetness, her need, her surrender to Nathaniel. Every detail was magnified. The mirror across the room reflected the scene in merciless clarity. Her nipples were tight under my fingers, her legs wrapped around my—Nathaniel’s—waist, dragging him closer with every thrust.
“Oh God… stop it! Please!” I whispered, though my voice was powerless. My body reacted against my will. I felt heat pooling between my thighs, my heart racing, my breaths coming in shallow gasps. I hated myself. I hated Nathaniel. I hated what I was feeling—and yet, I could not look away.
The First Born’s voice echoed in my mind, sinister and amused.
“Use the power, dear! It got you in, and it will get you out… brace yourself for the pain of betrayal.”
The betrayal. That was it. Every moan, every thrust, every desperate plea from Kara drove the knife of betrayal deeper. Nathaniel wasn’t doing this to me—he had no idea—but I was forced to experience it, to live it through him.
I focused, summoning every ounce of my magic, my will, to pull back from his mind. The sensations, the lust, the betrayal—it all clawed at me. My consciousness strained against the bond, and suddenly, I was ripped away, my body collapsing onto the bed as if hit by a storm.
Pain exploded through my chest, lightning-hot, making me scream and shiver. I fell to the floor, sobbing, gasping for air.
“Oh God! Why does it hurt so much?!” I cried, feeling utterly alone. The betrayal wasn’t real, but my body and mind felt every bit of it.
The First Born’s voice returned, mocking, almost gleeful.
“That’s the consequence, sweetie. Every time he ‘cheats,’ you’ll feel it. Eventually, your power will grow enough to suppress it—but for now, this is your reality.”
I curled into myself, trembling, feeling small, exposed, and utterly powerless. The room was silent now, the echoes of my own cries the only sound. My chest heaved. My mind reeled. Sleep took me again, exhaustion overtaking everything, though I prayed for better dreams this time.
