Chapter 63

*JEWEL*

I resumed work at Drake's house as a maid, the other maids were not happy to have me, for reasons best known to them.

Drake doesn't cease to treat me nicely. He always tells me details of how his day went and yes, I enjoyed listening to it. We haven't talked for three days and I was beginning to miss him.

Maybe he is too busy lately.

"Jewel '' I heard Drake call me. I turned around to find him sitting on one of the stools in the kitchen.

"Hey" I smiled, no I blushed.

"I was thinking if we could go somewhere together" Drake scratched the back of his head nervously.

I nodded.

"Go get dressed" He smiled .

I ran upstairs, I got dressed in a black a shape gown. Drake got that dress for me after I started working in his house.

*DRAKE*

I had nothing to do at work today, and I miss talking with Jewel. And I needed to play it's been a while I did that.

I drove to an amusement park, we played for just thirty minutes and sat down to watch others.

I always enjoyed watching others play at the amusement park, it's even more interesting watching them with the damsel by my side.

Everything I do with her is usually interesting, even the most boring topics are interesting when discussed with her.

"Do you mind going to get herbs with me ?" I turned to look at her.

"I don't mind," She chuckled.

As she assisted me in harvesting the herbs, she kept smiling. Her smile was as bright as the sun.

I didn't even notice that I was carried away with admiring her looks until she called my name for the third time according to her.

"I'm done" She was about to walk away when she accidentally bumped into someone, she clashed into me, she embraced me out of fear.

For the first time, we held each other's gaze. It seemed as if everything on earth had stopped and it was just the two of us .

I found myself kissing her. Her lips were as soft as it looked, she placed her right hand at the back of my head and kissed me. She suddenly pulled back and picked the basket of herbs.

"I'm sorry sir it was my fault" She turned to leave.

I pulled her closer with her hand, and smacked my lips on hers.

*JEWEL*

I felt butterflies as he held me for the very first time. I suddenly felt that I was wrong. I had to pull out from the embrace to walk away when he grabbed my hand and pulled me closer.

He smacked his lips on mine, my eyes widened. I could feel my heart racing.

He released me and smiled.

"Stop being stubborn" He smirked and walked away.

What the heck does he mean ?!.

I felt like I was attracted to him. What if he just kissed me for fun?

Although I felt the kiss had a genuine intention. But why would he be interested in a low class like me? .

*RINA*

I woke up due to the alarm that kept beeping.

I tried to stand up when I felt sharp pains all over my body. I groaned in pain. I just couldn't bear it.

I remembered being tortured by Fiona and her gang. I managed to sit up. I was scared to move, I just didn't want to fall.

Damien walked into the room, he smiled on seeing me.

"I'm glad to see you awake" He hurried to where I was and kissed my forehead.

I deadpanned.

"You've been sleeping for three days. I got really scared" His voice came out as a whisper. He grabbed my left hand and pecked it.

"Seriously?" I said and winced.

Ouch! Even talking gives me a headache.

"I would send the maids to bring you breakfast." He walked out of the room.

Damien, you still have questions to answer.

*Author's Pov*

In a room with dim light, everyone kept talking at the same time. They have not been able to handle the problem they were having.

Beatrice appeared in the middle of the room.

"Beatrice, how's your job going ?" The silver eyes man quarried.

"I can't say it's going smoothly, but trust me I would turn her against her mate" She reassured.

"Very well then try your best not to stand close to the Alpha for too long, his other parts might focus its attention on you and then you will be exposed." He warned.

"Make sure you kill him" I smirked and backed Beatrice.

Beatrice bowed slightly and disappeared into thin air like she did before.

He walked up to the woman with a very dark hair.

"Carlota, you never cease to amaze me" He smiled rubbing her silky dark hair.

"Aren't you tired of this nonsense ?" She yelled.

"Take it easy mate" He smirked and forcefully kissed her.

Carlota is his mate and of course, wife. He loved her so much but she was too dumb to comply with him so he had no choice than to keep pushing her to.

"Why are you being wicked? I really don't see any reason why you should kill the beast. Oh it's the title and honor you need?" Carlota cried out. "All in the name of power and honor I lost my child years ago!" She glared at him.

He grabbed her neck and pushed her against the wall. "I'm warning you. Don't ever bring up the past, especially about that useless child!"

Carlota coughed trying to pull his hands away but to no avail.

"I'm warning you" He released his grips but not without pushing her hard against the wall.

*DAMIEN*

I was happy to find Rina sitting in bed. I asked a maid to prepare her favorites and make sure they help her prepare a bath.

Drake had told me earlier on that he had gotten new information about her parents and her birth. I just don't want to stress her with stuff like that.

But still, Drake was not going to tell me anything.

*** A week later ***

*DRAKE*

Jewel was giving me a full body massage like she usually does whenever I complained of pains. She was being too quiet today unlike on other days where we discussed heartily. I wonder what's going through her mind.

"Jewel" I called out.

"Hmm?" She continued massaging my back.

"What's on your mind? I mean what are you worried about?" I turned sideways to see the look on her face.

She wasn't frowning, her face held no emotion.

"Nothing much. But I just don't know how to thank you enough. I don't even know how to pay it back." She smiled faintly.

On hearing that, I sat up immediately.

"Thank me for what? You don't have to pay either." I told her.

Yes, I knew I assisted her a lot but I don't care about it. I didn't want her to pay me back with anything.

I just wanted to have a good relationship with her. I craved to be close to her. I guess I've fallen in love with her.

I honestly can't bear to stay a day without seeing her or even hearing her voice. It made me feel really empty.

At this point, I think I can do anything for her.

"I don't know why you kissed me last time, but I think I like you" She had stopped massaging my body and was backing me. "But I'm scared that you may keep me as a toy" She muttered under her breath.

My eyes widened as I sat up quickly.

"Seriously?" I half yelled. I wanted to clarify before I say anything.

She nodded.

I turned her around, her eyes were teary. I didn't say or do anything to hurt her, did I?. I guess she was just being emotional.

I wiped the tear that dropped from her eyes with my thumb.

"Please don't cry" I told her, caressing her cheek.

I don't know how to comfort her right now, I also wanted to take this opportunity to let her know how I felt about her but I didn't know how to express myself.

"Jewel" The head of the maids called.

Jewel stared at me like she was waiting for me to say something. But I don't know why I just laid back on the couch and waved for her to leave.

She nodded, bowed slightly and left.

What the heck! She must be really mad at me.

Damn! Why was I acting like a high school nerd!?
