Two Weeks Later…
It has been a few weeks since the battle against Tarech. I sent Soren and the rest of the blood wolf moon pack back to the Sapphire Moon pack land once all their wolves had healed and were able to make the journey. I let them know that I would be coming back as soon as Bastian was feeling better and back to his usual routine.
The memorial was a sad yet healing moment. Together we were able to forgive the past so that the present could heal, and the future had hope.
Bastian fell into a light coma after the battle with Tarech and has yet to wake up from it.
Freya: I don’t understand why we can’t stay here to figure things out.
Me: Because now we have a pack of our own to tend to and make it like it once was. I’m excited to reunite with some of my old pack members if they are still there.
Freya: Yes, but the sex is so good with Bastian and his wolf. What if we don’t find our mate and then we will lose out on this great opportunity.
I rub my head trying to push away the headache I was beginning to feel.
Me: Is it me or is it getting hot in here?
Freya: Oh, something is coming that you forgot to keep track of. This is going to be exciting!
Me: Oh no!
I quickly walked over and grabbed my phone to check the date of my last heat cycle, and sure enough there it was. My heat was coming.
Me: I have to try to get out of here.
Freya: Oh, honey good luck. Our smell is already changing.
Crap!
I quickly went into the bathroom and started running the water at the coldest setting that it would do. I stepped into the shower and screamed. The sizzling of my skin and the cold water almost hurt.
There was a knock on the door.
“Ria, are you ok?” One of the male warriors asked.
“Yes! I am fine. I just want to be left alone.”
I could sense more unmated males coming closer to the cabin.
Me: Barlow!
Barlow: Yeah? What’s up!?
Me: HEAT!
Barlow: Oh crap! Ok, on it.
Me: Thank you!
I turn the knob to turn off the shower and let the tub fill up. I quickly wrapped a towel around me as I ran to the kitchen and grabbed a bag of ice I had in the lower drawer of the freezer and ran back into the bathroom to dump it in the tub. Lowering myself into the tub I try to keep my breathing calm as I close my eyes waiting for the cold to help curb my heat.

Barlow's POV:
I quickly pack-link Jasper as soon as I finished talking with Ria. We needed to get the unmated males away from her cabin.
Me: Jasper I need help quick! Ria is going into heat and some of the unmated males are smelling her.
Jasper: Crap! Ok I’ll go check to see if Bastian is awake. Only his Alpha tone can stop this.
Me: What about Terrin calling a training session for the rest of them?
Jasper: That should help as long as we keep them away from her cabin until we can move her.
Me: K I will let Terrin and Mak know.
I pack-linked Terrin.
Me: Terrin!
Terrin: Little busy right now.
Me: Ria is in Heat!
Terrin: Ah crap! Ok what do you need?
Barlow: Let Mak know what is going on and assemble a training as far away from her cabin as you can. Jasper went to see if Bastian was awake to see if he could help get the unmated males that are lurking around Ria’s cabin as we speak.
Terrin: K I’ll let Mak know, and I will send a message to all the warriors to quickly assemble on the other side of the pack house.
Me: Great! Thank you!
I started running making my way to Ria’s cabin to see if I can cover her scent with mine.

Jasper's POV:
I bolt out of the packhouse and make my way to the hospital to check on Bastian.
I practically collide into the Doc on my way in.
“Jasper what on earth is the sudden urgency?” Doc asked as he picked up the files I had made him drop.
“Sorry Doc is Alpha awake?”
“I have yet to check on him yet. What seems to be the problem?”
“Ria, she has gone into heat and some of the unmated males are starting to lurk about her cabin.”
“Oh no. Okay let’s go check on him.”
We quickly made our way into the Alpha’s room, and he was still out.
“Alpha, Alpha can you hear me? Alpha, Ria is in trouble, and she needs your help.”
At once, Alpha’s eyes flew open, but they were a golden color and not the normal blue. Rufus had surfaced.
“What’s wrong with Ria?” He asked in his deep tone.
“Rufus, we need Alpha. Ria has gone into heat and some of the unmated males are lurking around her cabin.”
Rufus: Listen and Listen well. If I find any unmated male around Luria’s cabin by the time I get there, you will wish I had banished you when I am through with you. Now, get to where you need to be. That is an order!

Ria's POV:
I woke to the sound of Rufus’ deep voice commanding everyone to leave around me. Thank Goddess.
Freya: That was Rufus.
Me: Yes, it was.
Freya: I wonder if Bastian has yet to wake.
I was starting to lose consciousness from all this, this was a harder heat, and I didn’t understand as to why.
Freya: We have made a connection.
Me: What? To whom? We have been rejected and he is dead how are we connected?
Freya: Whether you want to admit it or not. We have connected to Bastian and Rufus. They are the only ones that can help us.
As I slipped further into a sleep I unknowingly reached out to Bastian via the pack-link.
Me (faintly): Bastian, help me.

Bastian's POV:
Rufus: Bastian, Bastian you need to wake up.
Me: I can’t.
Rufus: You have to. Luria and Freya need us.
Me: What has happened?
Rufus: They are in heat.
Rufus closed my eyes and allowed me to come to surface. Which kind of surprised me. I would have assumed he would try to play off as me and enjoy a good tousle with Freya.
Rufus: I will have plenty of time for that later. Now is not the time. Luria is hurting.
I open my eyes and look to see Jasper and the Doc standing over me.
“What is happening?” I ask them. As I try to get my bearings on my surroundings.
“Alpha, Ria has gone into heat. Your wolf was able to send out a command to get the unmated males away from her cabin.”
I pull the covers back off of me.
“Help me. I need to see her.”
“Do you think that is a good idea?” Jasper asked with a concerned look in his eyes.
“Yes, she needs me, and I will not let her down.”
He pulls my arm over his shoulder and helps me to stand. The doc finds some shorts and helps me step into them and removing the gown. He asks a nurse to come in and remove the IV needle that was still stuck in me.
“Now please take it easy. That Tarech guy did a number on you. The Wolfsbane has just slowly started to leave your system.” Doc says to me as we start to make our way out of the room.
“What happened to him?”
“You don’t remember?” Jasper asks as we walked down the hall.
“It’s all still a little foggy. I assume since Ria is still here. That she won.”
“She killed him.”
I stop for a moment.
“What?”
“Yeah, he was about to attack you again to get a rise out of Ria and she ended up stabbing him right in the heart.”
“Is she ok?”
“Well, besides being in heat at the moment and now is Luna of her old pack. Yeah, she is doing fine.”
I chuckle.
We start making our way to her cabin and we get to the door. I turn to Jasper and ask, “Can you make sure that we have a few bags of ice ready. I don’t know how bad her heats get.”
“Mak and Barlow should be in there right now.”
“Good, at least she has not been alone.”
I slowly make my way through the door. Barlow was in the kitchen making a pitcher of ice water and Mak just walked out of the bedroom with a look of relief on her face.
“Thank Goddess you are awake and here.”
I take a breath and can already tell that her pheromones are more elevated than a normal heat.
“How is she?”
“Not good. She says this one is far worse than any other heat that she has dealt with.”
“Is it due to the rejection maybe?”
“No, this is something different.”
“Alpha, could she have made a connection maybe. Like mates do?”
I looked at all of them completely dumbfounded. I had no idea.
“I can’t answer that. Let me go check on her.”
“We are going to head out Alpha and make sure that you two are left alone during this time.” Jasper says as he motions for the girls to leave.
They give sympathetic smiles as they all walk out the door, closing it behind them.
I slowly make my way into her room. Her room reeked even more, and I started having cravings of her touch.
Rufus: Yummy! I can’t wait to take her.
Me: Easy.
“Ria?”
“Bastian?”
I followed her voice and found her slightly draped over the tub. I dropped down to her.
“Ria? Can you hear me.”
I run my fingers against her, and it was like a current running between us.
“Bastian,” she says weakly, “help me.”
I slide my hand down the length of her body and she turns onto her back in the bathtub. Gently I rub my fingers against her mound. She arches her back, while begging me to insert them into her. She wraps the towel around her and slowly helps me to the bed. She removes all my clothes from me and gently puts a sheet to cover me.
“I have to be naked in order to be in the bed?” I ask.
“Well, it will help keep me cooler and I just assumed it would be better for you.” She says as she slides in next to me. Her scent is driving me insane, and I want to take her right now and make her mine.
She curls up next to me and starts to rub her hand up and down my body, “You know I can help you feel better, after all I am a healer.” She says with a seductive tone in her voice.
“Is that you talking, or the heat?”

I let out a humph and smirk at her.

Bastian: My heart.
Rufus: I knew it, I knew you had feelings for her. Then act on them, take advantage of this situation.
Bastian: I refuse to take advantage of her.
Rufus: Fine! Let her take advantage of us.
I shake my head. Dirty old fool.
I put one of my arms behind my head and rest my head against it lifting me a little from the pillow.
“So how do you think you can heal me this time?” I ask with a little enthusiasm in my tone.
She gives me a mischievous smile as she climbs on top of me and straddles me. I feel her wetness on my shaft as she slowly rubs herself back and forth on me. Her skin is starting to glisten with sweat. Another cycle is upon her. She’s able to push my member inside her.
“Ria, wait.”

I let a sigh escape as I continue to enjoy being sated at this moment. I understand where he was getting at, and I know that part of all that was Freya skirting right at the rim of me and allowing her desires and ambitions to come out through me. But right now, I do not care. Everything was amazing and I hope we have more of those during this heat. I have not allowed myself to give in on a lot of things in life. So, I am throwing caution to the wind. No regrets.
