Chapter 37

Vivian “Let him in,” I said while working on my laptop. I didn’t give a fuck why he came here, but this time if he would try to fuck-up with me then I would not think twice to shoot right in his chest.

I raised my eyes from the laptop when the door opened, and a tall man stepped in. He was completely recovered except for the mark of my knife on his neck.

I touched my gun. “Are you fond of death?” I narrowed my eyes on him.

Lucian raised both of his hands above his head. “I am unarmed.”

“I am not blind. But it won’t stop me from shooting right in your chest!”

He smiled, that seemed genuine. “You can shoot me but only after my words to you. I want your help.”

I laughed. “As if I will ever help you.”

“Believe me, this is more important than anything else.” He said with confidence.

I leaned back in my seat, waiting for him to spell out his important thing. “Spill it out. What’s so important?”

“Tomorrow, Kia is going to marry Guarin.” He watched my reaction, but as usual, he found nothing.

“So?” I kept my expression fixed. “I don’t give a fuck whoever she marries? And if you came here to talk about this, then I am not interested in listening to these bullshits.”

“I know you care about her.” He held my gaze for a moment.

I glared at him threateningly. “You do? I wondered how much you know about me?” I stood up and slid my hand into the pockets. “Do you know how I torture my traitors? Do you know how I kill a man like you with my bare hands? Of course, you do?”

He swallowed under my icy gaze. “Get the fuck out of here before I change my mind, Lucian. Kia meant nothing to me. I forgot that she ever existed in my damn life. Let her marry another fucking man. I don’t fucking care!” I ran my fingers through my hair because of frustration.

He didn’t move from his place and kept sticking at the same spot bravely. And I respected him for this. Because he was proving himself to be a loyal friend. I quickly pulled out my gun and got ready to pull the trigger at any moment.

“Kia is pregnant with you.” The words left out his mouth, and the gun slipped from my grip and collapsed against the floor. “She is pregnant with your child, Vivian.”

For a moment, I froze and kept staring at him.

But when the pregnant word hit my brain, I laughed out loud as if I heard some sort of joke. I didn’t know why, but I couldn’t help but laugh. “You betrayer and your Kia betrayer. What makes you think I can believe you with my closed eyes? How do I believe someone who lied to me from the very beginning? How?”

“Because it is true, Vivian. It is true!” He pulled out the piece of paper and handed it to me. “Look.”

I read every word carefully. It was her pregnancy report and fuck; she was six weeks pregnant. And I knew he was not lying to me. I could say through his worried expression. I could read the people well from in and out.

“And she sent you here for my help?!” I snapped, clenching my jaw tighter.

He shook her head. “She will never ask for anyone’s help, not even after her dead body. I would not have known about her pregnancy if her mother had not told me. It was her mother who told me everything. Even Mrs. Seton forced her to get rid of it.”

My nostril flared. “What!”

“But Kiara refused to do this even after knowing that this child will bring nothing but her death. Guarin will kill her when he comes to know about her pregnancy.” He stared into my eyes. “Kiara does not want anyone to know about her pregnancy, but her mother told me because she is scared of her life.” He smiled sadly. “She thinks she is stronger, and she will handle everything on her own. I know she won’t. She needs you, Vivian.”

“Get out,” I said, and his eyes widened. “I said get the fuck out of here!”

“Please, help her.” He whispered, defeated. “She has suffered enough....”

Caleb cut him off. “Come on, man. I’ll show you the exit gate.” He said and dragged him out of my office.

I kept gazing at the piece of paper which was left by Lucian. Kiara’s pregnancy report. She had carried my child and she would be the mother of my child. My second baby. I never allowed any fucking woman such close to me. Then why her?! I had slept with her twice but didn’t use protection because my mind was fucked-up. I rubbed my forehead, feeling the migraine. Damn Kiara! What did you do with me?

When I almost forgot about her, then Lucian left the pregnancy bomb on me. I cared so much about her. I could do anything for her if she would ask me once. But I couldn’t allow her into my damn life. I couldn’t allow her so close to me, so close that she almost touched my empty heart. The heart that belonged to someone else. The heart that felt nothing the second Isabella died. She took away everything from me since the day when she left me alone. My Isabella. I had been always hers and I would always be hers. No woman could take her place in my heart.

But Kiara. She had my child in her womb, and I couldn’t leave her to die. I had promised her I would kill Guarin. Then why didn’t I do it right now? After all, he had hit my only daughter. Let him know who he messed up with. I quickly called Max and in a ring, he picked up. “Yes, Boss.”

“Get ready for war,” I said calmly.

********

“Are you ready? We have never attacked the wedding ceremony before. And you never took a risk for a woman.” Max said, glancing at me briefly.

I checked my gun before shoving it back into my holster. “I am ready,” I said, ignoring his curiosity.

“The wedding is in Guarin’s place. He has owned the luxurious mansion of the city, so all arrangements must be there. I have got information that he has invited approximately a hundred people and all of them are gamblers and related to mafias. Some of them are also politicians but it doesn’t mean they are decent.”

I kept my eyes fixed on the road. “Whoever they are, I don’t want to kill them. I just want Guarin’s life. I am not intending to mess with other mafias.” The car with my four soldiers was waiting on the street. “You know what to do.”

He grinned widely. “I am very excited.”

I smirked at his excitement. “I know you are.”

We drove to his mansion. The parking lot was full of luxurious cars. The guest had already arrived. I held my breath when my eyes caught her. Fuck, she was looking damn gorgeous in her white wedding gown. Her dark brown hair had been braided and beautifully decorated with white pearls. Her mother was beside her and looked more like her sister. She whispered something to Kiara and in response, Kiara clutched the bouquet tightly and shook her head. Lucian took her hand and led her into the hall.

“Are you not going to stop her?” Max asked when he followed my eyes.

“I’ll steal her from that fucker,” I said through clenched teeth. “Let’s go inside.”

We hurried into the hall. My four men had already knocked off the bodyguards of Guarin and taken their place. “He has made it easy to achieve our goal without the harm of our single man. Guarin has not been armed with his weapons and men.”

“Because he doesn’t expect an attack on his wedding ceremony.” I shot in the air. And the people’s screams filled in the hall. “Everyone out.” They watched me, horrified. I shot once again. “Max. Let all of them out unharmed.”

“What the fuck...” Guarin’s words died in his mouth when his eyes settled on me. “Luke!.. Where the fuck are you?!” He screamed at the top of his lungs, calling for his dogs but pity to say no one would come to his rescue. I stepped closer to him, but all my attention was grabbed by that woman, who was looking fucking angel in that white piece. Kiara’s eyes were wide due to shock. She was fixed to her place, watching my every movement.

“Baby, didn’t you tell him the truth? When did my blood queen become a coward?” I said the same words as Guarin had said at my time. Before she could understand anything, I grabbed her face and kissed her right in front of her fiancé. She didn’t kiss me back. She was too shocked to do anything. “Did you miss me?” My lips turned into a smirk. “I wanted to punish you so badly, but seeing your beautiful face, I forget all my fury.” I mocked Guarin.

His eyes bulged with raw anger and here I enjoyed every moment of him. “Bitch! How dare you!” He said and pulled out his gun, which was under his suit, and got ready to shoot Kiara. I quickly grabbed her by the waist and pulled her off on the other side and drew my gun at the same time and shot right in his arm. I could kill him in seconds, but I want him alive. He could not die before my torture.

“Touch what’s mine. I’ll burn you alive.” I hissed, and Kiara watched me in disbelief. Damn that look.

At sudden the sounds of guns filled in the hall. Probably somebody had informed his men. “His men are on the way, and we’re outnumbered five to one. We have to get out of here before they can arrive here, Boss.” Max informed me.

“Take him with us,” I ordered him.

Guarin’s lips twisted into a sneer. “You won’t. Eric won’t leave you.”

The second he mentioned his name, my rage went high. I lunged at him and grabbed his neck. “You are going to die, asshole. Fuck off, Eric, and fuck off your men. I don’t scared of any fucking thing.” I snapped and loosened my grip, allowing him to breathe because I would not let him die so soon.

“I didn’t know the Dark king had a keen interest in leftovers.” Guarin snarled. “Kiara is my leftover. I have been fucking her for three years. Whenever I was inside her, she would always scream my name.”

Anger flooded my veins. “Now I am going to make you scream out in pain, asshole.” My men took him away out of my sight before I could break his fucking mouth.

I turned to Kiara, who was still watching me with a look of utter shock on her face. Her eyes never left mine. “You are coming with me,” I said and grabbed her by the hand.

But she snatched her hand from my grip. “Mamma.” She said and looked at her mother. I loosened my grip, letting her free. When her mother came to her side, my anger went higher. She wanted Kiara to get rid of my child. How heartless she was?! Her eyes were filled with tears, but I did not feel an ounce of pity for her.

“Go Kiara. You need him. Please, don’t worry about me. I have Lucian.” She said, hugging her tightly. My heart softened for a moment but did not last long.

Lucian came next and hugged her. “I am going to miss you, Kia.”

“Me as well.” She smiled and looked back at me. “Let’s go.” I nodded to her and took her out.

We sat in the car. “We will stay in a hotel for a day before returning to New York,” I said, and she gave me a slight nod.

After a few minutes of riding, I pulled my car into the parking lot before I went out. Kiara followed me silently, like a lost puppy. She had never behaved that obediently to me before. We headed toward the elevators and pressed the button for the sixth floor. When we rode up, I led her through the hallway until we arrived at my hotel room.

As long as we entered the room. We knew what we wanted. I slammed her against the wall, pinning her with both hands above her head, and pressed my lips against her. “You do not know what I want to do with you.” I rasped.

She breathed hard and kissed me as hard as she could. It was fierce. “I missed you, Vivian.”

Fuck! It was already hard.

I bent my head down and fisted her hair to get more of her mouth. She sucked my bottom lip slowly before slipping the tongue into my mouth. A quiet moan escaped her lips as the heat rose between us.

I want her so damn much. Without wasting a single second, I unzipped her gown and let it slide down her beautiful body. Her eyes filled with excitement. I shrugged off my jacket before taking off the t-shirt. “I have been dreaming of you every night.” She said, blushing.

I grabbed her face and kissed her again.

“Vivian.” She breathed.

“Hmmm.” I moaned as she tasted delicious.

She stared into my eyes. “Vivian. I-I love you.”
