Chapter 32
Kia "Honey." Mom hugged me tightly, and her eyes filled with tears. "Finally, I met my lovely daughter after three months."
I didn't hug her back. Both arms hung on my side. I didn't want to touch her. I was numb, completely senseless. When she didn't get a response. She pulled herself back and looked at my face. "What happened, honey?" She examined my body. "Are you hurt?"
I lifted my gaze at her. "I'm tired, Mamma. I need some rest." I pushed her back and made my way to my room.
She followed me. "No matter how tired you are, you are never tired of your mother. You never refused to hug me. Then what's the change today?"
There is so much change, mamma. So much.
"Kia." I heard Lucian. Ignoring my mother, I directly looked at him. He carried Harley in his arms, and she was still unconscious. "Where should I take her?" He asked awkwardly, catching my mother's reaction.
"What the hell is she doing here?" Mom growled after seeing Harley.
I watched her in disbelief, I couldn't believe she was my mother. I had never seen her so happy.
"What the hell is she doing in my house, Kia?! I couldn't believe you brought our enemy's daughter here?" When those words left her mouth, I was shocked.
"How do you know she is his daughter?" I asked her calmly.
Her face went pale. She swallowed hard. "L-Look at her face. S-She looks exactly like her father." She stuttered.
"And how do you know what he looks like?"
"I had seen him that night..." She quickly bit her lips, never wanting to complete her words.
I went closer to her. "But on that night, you were in the hospital, weren't you?" I breathed in deeply. Guarin was right. She had known everything. "Then how come you had seen him that night?"
When she didn't say anything, I got my answer.
I turned to Lucian. His face was shocked too, but he quickly brushed it away. "I'll take her to my room," I said and carried Harley in my arms. "You can go, Luc."
"Are you sure?" He looked at me with concern and pity.
I nodded at him. "I'm fine. You can go. John must wait for you."
He smiled forcefully. "In case you need me, then call me."
I gave him a forceful smile before turning on my heels. "We need to talk. Meet me in my study," I said to mom and went into my room.
I placed Harley on my bed. Seeing her face, Vivian's face is pictured in my mind. His vulnerable face and his furious eyes. Now I was regretting more when I found the truth that he had not killed my father. My brain was wrong from the beginning and my heart was right. Vivian had not killed my father.
He killed my brother because my brother killed his wife.
I stepped out of my room and closed the door before heading to my study.
I found her sitting on the couch, her head bowed down and her hands trembling. When she heard my footsteps, she quickly lifted her eyes at me. "Kia. It's not like what you think." Her voice was shaky.
I narrowed my eyes on her. "I am not thinking about anything. It's you who is thinking wrong right now." I took my place in front of her.
I studied her face. She had dark circles underneath her eyes. She hadn't slept properly for a few days. Her pretty face became paler than before.
Before I told her everything, I let out a long breath. "I successfully defeated him, mamma. I successfully hurt him. I gave him pain, unbearable pain. He had his arms and neck slashed. I swallowed hard at the memories flashing in my mind. "I stabbed my knife into his stomach. Guarin shot him right in his chest. And he did nothing to me. He didn't hurt a single hair of mine. He had a gun, but he didn't pull the trigger on me. I successfully defeated him not because he was weak but because he let me allow him."
She stared at me, confused. "Why are you telling me this?"
I let out an empty laugh. "I'm telling you this because I want you to know Vivian's generosity. He wasn't that cruel as you kept poisoning me about him. If he was that cruel, he wouldn't think twice about killing me, mamma. I was very close to him when I was stabbing his body. All I could look at was his vulnerable side." My eyes became moist. "I hurt the wrong man, mamma. I was wrong. And I'm regretting it."
"Kia, he killed your brother," she whispered. "How can you forget this?"
I clenched my hands into fists. "He killed Fabian because Fabian killed his wife!"
She froze at her place and her eyes widened as she watched me, dumbfounded.
"Did he kill Vivian's wife?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at her.
She said nothing.
"Did he kill her?" I asked once again.
Her lips trembled.
"Did he kill Isabella?" I yelled at her.
And she jolted and tears rolled down her cheeks. "Kiara, you are scaring me."
I closed my eyes for a few seconds before gazing right into fearful eyes. "Answer me!!"
She wiped her tears off before nodding at me. "Please don't judge your mamma, honey. I did all this for your good. I didn't want to hurt you."
I wished I would not have to face another shock.
"It all began on the day when Fabi met Isabella for the first time in the club. On that day, there was a fight between Vivian and his wife because of her brother. Isabella was so hurt that she wanted to hurt Vivian and she achieved it through Fabi." She searched my eyes, and I kept my expression neutral. "She slept with Fabi that night. But the next morning, she was regretting her action. She said she was extremely angry at her husband, but her anger was nothing in comparison with her love. After apologizing, she left him. But she was unaware of her horrible future."
"What does it mean?"
She swallowed. "Fabian had taken her nude photos. He was not satisfied with one night. He wanted her more. He wanted her."
I gasped at my brother's barbarity. How could he do this to her?
"Fabian threatened her. He blackmailed her that if she wouldn't come to him, then he would show all her nudes to Vivian. He forced her to come and sleep with him. She did everything that Fabian asked her to do. And everyone thought that her husband cheated on her. Fabian broke her down. Completely. And one day came when Isabella committed suicide by over-drugging herself. She killed herself because she didn't want to hurt her husband."
Tears fell down my cheeks as I closed my eyes. I breathed in deeply. It was too much to take. I felt broken by the unknown woman. "How do you know all this?" I whispered.
She averted her eyes like she didn't want to tell me the next story.
"Mamma." I placed my hands over hers. "Please, tell me the whole truth."
She sighed before giving me a nod. "When Vivian found out everything about Fabian and Isabella. Then he was completely lost. He became thirsty for Fabian's blood. He started haunting him. And Fabian came to us asking for our help. When your father asked him everything, then he told us the entire story. Fabian knew your father had many contacts. The only person who could help him was your father." She stared into my eyes. There was so much pain and sorrow. "You knew your father very well, Kia. He was a social worker. For him, social services come first. No matter how poor we were, he was always ready to help needy people. He had never tolerated injustice. Then how could he tolerate your brother's cruelty to that woman? Your father completely refused to help Fabian. Even he got ready to hand him over to the police."
"Did dad take him to the police?"
She shook her head. "Vivian caught him on time and took him forever." She wiped off her tears. "That's all I know."
"And who killed her father?"
She breathed shakily. "Of course Vivian."
"Why didn't he kill you, then?"
"Because he never kills women."
"Guarin has told me that Vivian didn't kill dad!"
She kept silent and her eyes were fixed on the floor.
"Mamma, tell me."
She burst into a sob and shook her head. "I can't."
"Mamma, please tell me."
She sobbed louder. "I can't break his promise."
"Whose promise?"
"Your dad's."
I knew she loved him so much and she wouldn't break his promise, but I had to make her break it.
"Mamma, please."
Her eyes were closed, and her breathing was shallow. "Fabian. It was Fabian who killed his father."
And that was the moment I went numb. I watched her in disbelief. I quickly stood up and ran for my car keys. I heard mom was following me.
"Where are you going?" She shouted behind me.
I didn't say anything and grabbed my keys.
"Kia, stop there." She was following me.
"Don't follow me," I warned her.
"That was the reason I was not telling you anything. I knew you would lose your mind. Kia stop!"
I paused at my place, fisting my hands.
She came closer to me. "You are not going anywhere."
"I need to be alone. I need to be alone so that I can process everything in my mind. Don't worry, I won't harm myself."
She squeezed my shoulder lightly. "You need your mamma."
I shook my head. "I want to be alone."
She let me go.
I sat in my car and drove to the cemetery. I wanted to talk to him.
I stopped the car in the parking lot of the cemetery and went out. I spotted his headstone.
Don't cry. I'm always alive in your heart.
I placed my hands on my hips. "So you think you can make me a fool? Fool? Yes, I'm the biggest one!! You and mamma both of you made me fool. You both kept me in the dark." My lips were trembling. "You know what? I have never met a person like you. You had been sacrificing your things for others, you had been enduring pain for others! I never stopped you, even though my heart hurt so much whenever I saw you like that. I wanted to tell you to stop living with others. I wanted to tell you that. Please think about yourself." Tears dropped from my eyes. "Have you ever thought about your daughter? Have you ever thought about my happiness? The answer is no! If you ever thought about me, then you never left me. You wouldn't lie to me. You wouldn't betray me."
I fell to my knees and sobbed harder. "I'm hurt, dad. I'm hurt so much. Why didn't you tell me you would never come back to me? Why didn't you tell me that the bastard of my brother was going to kill you? Disgusting Fabian!! How could he kill his father?!"
Vivian was right, Fabian deserved death twice. If he were still alive, I would have killed him with my blade.
I wanted to numb so that I could feel nothing.
It was too much to take.
One day and so many shocks.

"Kia, you will never give up your dream. Promise me that you will be a successful doctor no matter how many difficulties come in your life. There are a lot of difficulties in our lives, but humans don't understand that only these difficulties make them strong. Tell me, how will you know your abilities till you examine a particular subject? If you overcome all your difficulties without an ounce of fear, then trust me, you'll be the strongest creature on this planet."
"Dad, you're the strongest one. I want to be like you."
________
"Kitty, don't be scared. I'll spank you lightly. Just raise your ass so that I can get a good look at your beautiful ass."
"Kitty No! You're doing wrong."
"Bitch! You're getting on my nerves!!"
_______
"Close your eyes. Breath slowly. I'm right here with you. You're safe here. When you open your eyes, you'll give me your fearless look, Kia."
"Vivian!!" I opened my eyes. "Are you alive?" His powerful arms wrapped around me, and he pulled me into a tight hug. "Thank God you're safe." I clutched him tighter, never wanting to let him go this time.
"Kia." I heard another voice. It was not Vivian's. "Kia, look at me." Lucian cupped my face. His eyes were sad as mine. "Are you okay?"
"Lucian, is it you? I thought..."
"It was Vivian, right?" He completed me. "Are you missing him?"
I looked away. "No."
"You fell asleep here?"
I looked around. I was still at my father's burial place.
"I've never seen you like that, Kia. You are looking completely broken."
I swallowed. "My brother was the person who killed my father."
His eyes widened in shock.
