Chapter 1

Kia "Beautiful."

"Thank you." I faked a smile and set my glass on the table. I was with my next target. He was a dealer in drugs, and I was planning to knock him off. Poor man, he thought I was about to have fun with him. But he didn't even know I was greedy for his blood and possessions. Not just because he had a large drug house, but because he had a connection to Vivian Miller. My bloodthirsty enemy. "So tell me about your boss," I said, and stepped up to him.

He frowned like he didn't understand my words. "My boss?"

"Yes, Vivian Miller."

He took a sip of his wine. "First, he is not my boss, and second, I know nothing about him. If I knew about him, why would I tell you? I can't cross him."

I stepped closer to him and unbuttoned his shirt. "Not even after having fun with me?" I pouted.

"Sweetheart, I know nothing about him." He grabbed my hand and directed me toward the bed. "Let's start. I'm desperate to have you."

I narrowed my eyes at him, wanting nothing more than to strangle his neck. "I'm desperate too, but give me an answer first," I demanded.

He kept quiet.

"Okay, if you don't want to answer." I sighed and grabbed my clutch. "Have fun with your hand," I smirked, heading straight for the door. I was confident that he would stop me. Who wants to lose an opportunity with me? I had a flawless figure, better than those supermodels. I had dark brown hair with green eyes, which made me look innocent. Only a fool could miss a chance with me.

"Sweetheart," he called out, and I smirked in triumph. "Okay, I have some information about him, but why do you want this?"

No one had ever dared to ask me questions besides two people.

I turned around and approached him, ignoring his question. "Baby, I know you want me," I said seductively. "Now, give me that information." I held out my hand as I asked him for those documents. I knew he had a business deal with him.

He took out some papers from his drawer. "I have a meeting with him on Saturday at the Cassandra club. I heard he doesn't like many people around him, but he often visits there for a whore."

Oh!

I immediately snatched the papers from his hand and took a glance at them. "You have a meeting of the cigar business, so he also owns a cigar business."

He nodded. His wealth is beyond your wildest dreams just by working illegally, aside from women. But why do you want this?" He asked and snatched the papers back from my hand.

I met his gaze. "Because I'm planning to kill him," I said.

He paused for a moment before breaking into a laugh, like I had cracked some sort of joke. "You mean, you're preparing to kill a dark king, Vivian Miller?"

I moved closer to him, looking into his eyes. "Yes, I'm about to kill him!"

Suddenly, he stopped laughing and stared at me. No man in this world could ever resist my beauty.

"Beautiful," he whispered and fisted my hair before crashing his mouth to mine. I let him kiss me and let him think that I'm going to have fun with him. I kissed him back with the same passion because I was a woman of my word, but not entirely.

After a moment, I broke away and looked at him. "Thank you for helping me out."

"Take off your clothes, baby," he said and unzipped his pants.

I frowned. "Don't unzip your pants because I will not do what you want me to," I said coldly.

He gave me a seething look, but it had no impact on me. "What do you mean by that, bitch?"

Second, he called me a bitch; I lost my temper and punched him in the face. "Don't you call me that?"

"Fucking bitch!" he hissed and shoved me into the bed. "Don't you ever try to make a fool of me, bitch!"

Before he could open his mouth again, I pulled out a small blade from my clutch and pressed it right against his throat. "Asshole, never mess with a BLOOD. QUEEN," I gritted out, emphasizing my name and his face turned pale. I could see the fear in his eyes.

No one knew the blood queen by her face. I hid my identity and face from the world so that I could attack my enemy at the right time and right place. This was my nature. I always attacked from the back.

"Blood queen." He tried to speak with his ripped throat. If he hadn't messed with me, I wouldn't have ripped his throat.

I grabbed my clutch and pulled out my red lipstick and applied it to my lips. "Baby, I feel sorry for you, but you're the one who messed with me," I said, and kissed her cheeks. Even though he was soaked in blood, I didn't care at all. I just wanted to give him my mark, the mark of the blood queen.

"You have got to be kidding me..." He whispered weakly.

I brushed my lips along his jaw. "You know I don't crack jokes," I mumbled and took my last steps, "Goodbye, darling."

I was the cruelest woman in the world. No one tried to cross me.

I walked out of his room. He had two men standing outside his room for his security. I adjusted my dress and hair. "Your boss doesn't want to be disturbed. He fell asleep half an hour ago," I said with a seductive smile.

I wasn't feeling guilt and remorse for what I had done a minute ago because he deserved that. He was selling drugs to young people and spoiling their lives. My goal was to eliminate all these criminals in this world, excluding myself.

One man checked me up and down before giving me a nod. "Call me next time when your boss wants me again." I gave him a wink before walking away.

After stepping out of the building, I let out a sigh and spotted my red car. I opened the door and let my ass in. "I guess you've got what you wanted," Lucian said with a smile.

I tucked my hair behind my ear before replying to him. "You know I'm ambitious."

He started the car. "Are you sure you are willing to do this?" I looked at him, "I mean Vivian Miller, he is out of hand, Kia. He is not an easy man, he is not like the rest of the criminals, he is different. It is risky. What will happen when he discovers your true identity? He won't think twice before cutting your neck. I'm worried about you." I could see the concern in his brown eyes.

"I'm determined to kill him, Luc. I'm willing to do this. Even if I have to pay with my blood, I will not step back.

He ran his finger through his light brown hair. "And what about your mother?"

"Trust me, she will be happy after hearing this," I said. "She is eager for his death.

Lucian was not only my best friend but the best man in the world. He always had my back. He has always taken care of me since the day we met.

"Kia, I care for you a lot. You knocked off many criminals, and I was always with you. But this time I don't know why I feel scared for you. I just don't care about myself. I have no one in this world except for you and John. You have been through a lot of shit. You deserve happiness. I don't want you to sacrifice your life just because you can't get over your past."

I clenched my hand into fists, trying to control my temper. "THIS.IS. NOT. PAST, Lucian." I emphasized every word so he could understand that I would not let go of my past. Vivian killed my father and brother, not giving me a chance to meet them last time. I was trying my best to stop screaming at him. I didn't want to be harsh with a man who only cared about me. "Please, don't open your stupid mouth again."

I walked into my two-story house. Large enough for the two of us. Me and my mother. All the lights were off all around the house because Mumma probably was sleeping as it was half-past twelve. I stepped into the kitchen in search of a meal. I hadn't eaten since the morning and my stomach was rumbling. I sighed and opened the refrigerator door.

"Honey." I heard her sweet voice and then she stood near the kitchen counter. Her hand was on her hips as she was glaring at me. I inherited my mother's beauty. I had the same green eyes and dark brown hair. But she was fairer than me and I had tan skin like my father.

I pulled out the lasagna and put it in the oven. "I'm hungry," I said, ignoring her gaze.

She folded her hands over her chest. "Where have you been, honey?"

"Serious mission." I winked at her.

"More so than your mother?" She held my gaze. I could see the hint of sadness in her eyes.

"Of course not," I said annoyingly, "Nothing is more important than you, Mumma, and you know it very well, so stop this nonsense." She said nothing because she felt hurt. I sighed. "I'm sorry, mom."

"Don't say it, if you mean it," she said and was ready to leave me alone.

"Yes, I mean it. "I love you and there is only one thing more important than you." She knew this. "I knocked off one of Vivian's men and got information out of him. Tomorrow I'll leave New York for my next mission. I'll kill Vivian Miller and will get rid of my past. I know you won't stop me."

She didn't turn to me. Stood there rigidly. Her light-yellow dress perfectly fitted her body, and she looked more like my elder sister than my mother.

"We've been waiting for this moment for three years. I didn't sleep, you didn't eat since the day he killed father and brother. I can't forget when we used to live on the street when we used to live in an alleyway. And you." Tears gathered in my eyes, but I didn't let them fall. "When you were fighting cancer." I bit into my lower lip. "Mom, I can't forget it. I just can't. I'll kill him and give him the cruelest death."

Finally, she turned to me. "Kiara Seton, make sure he dies." I heard hatred in her voice.
