Chapter 79 Sophie’s Plan
He got blocked?
This thought immediately popped into Vincent's mind, making his expression change slightly. What was going on? Hadn't he been acting perfectly normal? Aria hadn't suspected anything either, had she?
What went wrong here?
Vincent was puzzled, but he didn't dare delay and told Sophie the news.
"You're saying she was about to sign the contract with you, and now she suddenly changed her mind?" When Sophie heard the news, her face turned extremely ugly, and she asked Vincent through gritted teeth.
"Yeah, I suspect something on your end got exposed. This is my first failure. According to what you said, there's no way Ms. Hall should have rejected me."
Talking about this, Vincent felt completely unwilling to accept it.
Sophie's face immediately darkened at his words, and she angrily questioned Vincent, "You messed this up yourself, and you have the nerve to question me? I haven't even been in contact with her - what could I have exposed? Vincent, why are you so useless now? You can't even handle such a small matter!"
Sophie was about to go crazy. She had spent so much money and effort, only to get this result. How could she not be furious?!
Vincent's face also turned ugly, and he hung up directly.
Sophie didn't expect Vincent to hang up on her. Furious, she called Vincent twice more, but he didn't answer. She threw her phone on the ground, and it shattered into pieces.
Damn Aria, she always ruins her plans.
Recently, Sophie could clearly feel that Arthur's heart wasn't with her. It must be that bitch Aria causing trouble again!
No!
She couldn't just let this continue. She had to think of something!
......
Not long after Aria returned to the villa, Arthur came back too.
The two ate at the dinner table together. Aria could feel Arthur's dark mood. She didn't try to make much conversation, just quietly finished her meal and went to the garden for a walk.
"What? Don't you have anything you want to tell me?"
Aria had just walked a short distance when a magnetic voice came from behind her.
Her steps paused slightly, and she saw that Arthur had followed her.
Aria's expression was calm. "What do you want to hear?"
Arthur saw she didn't look guilty at all. His brows furrowed slightly, and a dark look flashed through his eyes. "What did you go to Charles for?"
Aria saw that Arthur was still holding onto this matter and felt a bit impatient. "Arthur, didn't I already explain this to you? Are you not done yet?"
Arthur wouldn't let it go. "You call that an explanation?"
In his view, that wasn't any kind of explanation at all!
Aria bit her lip slightly. "That is my explanation. If you won't listen, then I don't need to say it again."
Aria didn't want to keep arguing with Arthur. She really couldn't make him understand. She turned to leave.
Arthur grabbed her hand directly, pulled her into his arms, and said in a low voice, "Aria, I will never agree to a divorce."
Aria was stunned by Arthur's sudden move. His familiar scent immediately surrounded her, making her dazed for a moment.
He was repeating again that he didn't want a divorce. She didn't understand what he was trying to do.
If there were no Sophie, then when he said this, she might be overjoyed. After all, she had once loved him with all her heart.
But after experiencing disappointment after disappointment, these words of his were like poison. She didn't want them.
Aria took a deep breath and stepped back from his embrace, looking at him calmly. "Arthur, do you know what you're saying?"
"I..."
"Where does that leave Sophie? Where does that leave me? Have you figured out who you actually want?"
Before Arthur could speak, she cut him off directly.
She had to make Arthur understand that she wasn't some option in a multiple-choice question. What she wanted had always been to be the only one. If he couldn't do that, he shouldn't say these things.
Moreover, he had never even told her he loved her.
She thought that Arthur's feelings for her might just be unwillingness to let go. Now that she had her own career and would meet other men, he was probably just being possessive. As for her, maybe even he couldn't figure it out himself.
Not to mention she now had a child - even without the child, she didn't want this unclear, messy relationship.
She couldn't let her child have a father whose heart belonged to someone else. That would definitely not be good for the child.
Arthur looked into her eyes, and all the words that were about to burst out seemed silent and powerless at this moment.
His silence was within Aria's expectations. She gave a self-mocking smile, said nothing more, moved Arthur's hand from her arm, and walked straight back to the house.
That night, neither of them could sleep...
The next day, Aria was woken up early by a call for help from Lucy.
"Aria, Aria, come to the studio quickly, something happened."
Aria immediately woke up and tried to calm her down. "Lucy, what happened? Don't panic, tell me properly."
"We took on a garden landscaping job a while ago, but the client is extremely picky. Nothing works for them, everything's wrong. We've been tortured to the point where we have no choice but to ask for your help."
Lucy told Aria about the problem, feeling very frustrated.
After learning about this, Aria was silent for a moment, then asked Lucy to send her the address.
After washing up and having breakfast, she went directly to the address Lucy had sent.
It was an estate. Her studio's staff were already there. When she arrived, a staff member immediately came out to meet her.
"Aria."
"What's going on?"
Aria asked while walking inside.
"This client's requirements are strict to the point of being crazy. You know what? He even has requirements for the angle of the flower pots - it's ridiculous!"
The staff member complained to her in a low voice.
Aria nodded lightly and followed the staff into the estate. She saw a man directing her staff with a very picky attitude.
But this person - why did she feel like she'd seen him somewhere before?
"Aria."
Several staff members who were moving potted plants saw Aria like she was a lifeline and called out to her joyfully.
In their eyes, Aria was their anchor.
The man who had been directing them paused when he heard the staff's excited calls and looked over.
When he saw Aria, surprise flashed through his eyes. "Aria?"
"Lance Gray? It's you?"
Aria also looked at the man in front of her with surprise. She wondered why he looked familiar - of course he looked familiar!
Her lifelong rival!
Lance used to always oppose her in everything, as if he'd feel uncomfortable if he didn't oppose her for even one day.
Finally, they hadn't been in contact for these past few years, but enemies really do cross paths - to run into him here, and he was even her studio's client...
"This project - you're doing it?"
