Chapter 71 - Twisted
Oh my God. I needed to get out of there. If he saw me, there would be no way out. I would be trapped with him all over again, the four years I spent sway from my family all wasted. I rushed down the corridor, wanting to get of there as soon as I could. However I was suddenly pulled into a dark room, before being abruptly pinned against its door. My first instinct was to scream, but a hand covered my mouth, only allowing me to whimper, as I shook in fear, my eyes wide.
The person stepped closer to me, and I could tell he reached up, before I heard him locking the door. Shit. I pushed at his hand which was covering my mouth with all my might, but he was a lot stronger than I was, and he also grabbed my right hand and proceeded to trap it behind my back. I tried to scream again, but only muffled sounds escaped my mouth.
"Shhh, shh," he whispered softly, stepping even closer to me. I tried to calm myself down, realizing that panicking was not getting me anywhere. And once my senses began to work again, I realized something. That scent currently flooding my nose was one I recognized. It was a cologne that I was extremely familiar with. And that's when I froze completely.
"You're back," he said softly, his deep, silky voice music to my ears. He was too close to me, with his breath fanning against my skin. It was making me nervous, and I would like to think, uncomfortable. I absolutely did not like how he was invading my private space. I think.
"I missed you so much, Butterfly," the pain in his voice was evident, yet I refused to believe it. The nickname, however, did make my heart ache. I was hearing it after such a long, heart-wrenching time, that tears instantly began to roll down my cheeks, probably wetting his hand in the process. I had longed to hear someone call me that, to hear him call me that for almost four years now. And hearing him finally say that again made me feel weak. As if I was still that sixteen year old, dumb little school girl, who fell for the charming bad boy with tattoos.
"Why are you crying?" He asked softly, removing his hand from my mouth. "It's me, Butterfly."
He switched the lights on, and I shifted my gaze to the floor, not having the courage to look him in the eye. I was afraid. Too afraid that I would drown into those pools of darkness once again, and forget those four miserable years I had spent. Away from my family, away from home. All because of him.
"My Queen?" He asked again, and all the negative emotions dissolved into oblivion again, leaving behind just a longing, to look up at him. "Look at me." That was all the invitation I needed, as I slowly looked up, meeting his beautiful eyes once again. Those captivating pools of darkness that had me so mesmerized in the past. I would be lying if I said they still did not have that same affect on me.
"You've grown much more beautiful. You look slightly mature now, yet I can still see the innocence and naivety of my little Butterfly," he said softly, and I blinked, not knowing what to say. He looked older too, obviously. There was a heavier stubble dotting his sharp jawline now, his hair was slightly longer and messier than before. The black shalwar kurta he wore made him look even more attractive, so fucking sexy. His eye bags looked quite prominent though, the only flaw on his perfect face I guess. Not how I remembered it to be. Was he okay? Had he been fine?
"Say something, Aliza," he begged, brining me back to the reality of the situation. The reality where he was a lying, manipulative prick, who had only toyed with my feelings.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" I frowned.
His mouth parted in shock, and I could see the hurt in his eyes.
"Nice," he blew out air through his nose, making me blink. "So you don't remember me? Playing dumb now."
"I'm sorry, what are you talking about? I really do not know what's happening, and this, by the way, is harassment. Could you please let go of my arm?" I asked.
"This is harassment," he nodded, his jaw clenched. "Drop the act Alizabeth. You're making a fool out of yourself."
"How do you know my name?" I continued, because pretending to not know him was easier than confrontation.
"You do not know mine?" He raised an eyebrow.
I shook my head.
"I don't know who you are. Let me go now," I said politely.
"Drop the act, Alizabeth!" His tone now went higher, pissing me off as well. I had suffered because of him for four years now. I was done.
"I'm not acting! Let me the fuck go!" I yelled, now struggling with full might. His grip on my hand tightened, and he looked angrier than earlier.
"You're coming with me," he said, before dragging me away from the wall. I screamed, trying to get free, but that only happened when he threw me onto the bed. I gasped, my heart beat pacing.
"What are you-" I tried to ask, while trying to get up, but he roughly pushed me back, making me fall on the bed again. He climbed on top of me, tightly pinning my body against the bed, while he trapped my wrists above my head using one of his hands. "What are you doing?" I yelled, as he pulled my 'dupatta' off.
"You don't know who I am, right? Let me tell you then," he said dangerously, before he began to wrap the 'dupatta' around my wrists, tying them together.
"Stop, stop this!" I yelled as loud as I could, trembling in fear. I pulled my hands away from him, but he easily caught them again. "Stop, stop, please!" I begged, but he continued what he was doing. "Shadrach!" I screamed out, just as he was about to tie the knot, and he instantly stopped his actions. "Stop it," I said softly, letting out a shaky breath, as I pulled at my hands. He stared at me silently, before removing the 'dupatta' from my wrists, and getting off of me. I instantly sat up, and shuffled away from him, before I realized that I should run without wasting time.
I stood up, trying to rush to the door, but he caught me and pulled me back, making me sit back down on the bed.
"Let me go please," I begged, still shivering.
"I'm not gonna hurt you," he shook his head, cupping my cheek. "I promise. Calm down. I only did that so you'd accept you know me."
I tried to calm my breathing down, not knowing how to react. What kind of a fucked up way was that to make someone tell the truth? Of course, Maxon Shadrach Bradley, and his sick, twisted ways.
"I just... I wanna talk to you, Butterfly," he said softly. "How have you been? Where have you been? Did you miss me? Why did you leave me like that?"
So many questions. He didn't have any right to ask those.
"I've been fine," I muttered. "Can I go now?"
"Aliza, please. Talk to me. I'm seeing you after four years. Four miserable years. Why are you behaving like this?" He asked, taking my hands into his.
"I don't know what to say, Shadrach," I said softly.
"Tell me, have you been happy without me? Did you not miss me?" He asked, his hopeful expression making me gulp, as tears threatened to escape my eyes.
"I did," I replied. "I wasn't happy."
"Then why did you not come back to me?" He asked.
"Why did you not come to find me?" I asked him.
"I... I thought you wanted me to respect your choice," he replied, and I clenched my jaw, wanting to punch him in the face. I snorted and looked away from him, also pulling my hands away from his.
"Yeah, like you're one to do that," I replied sarcastically.
"Did you... Did you want me to come find you?" He asked, and I shifted my gaze to the floor, while my heart skipped a beat.
"Nevermind," I muttered, and stood up, making my way to the door.
"Alizabeth, wait please," he said, following after me.
I did not listen, and tried to open the door and exit the room, but it didn't budge. I remembered he had locked it, and unfortunately the lock was too high for me to reach. I still tried, getting onto my tiptoes, but I froze when I felt him standing right behind me. His breath was fanning the skin of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. I felt his hand travel to my bare waist, his touch so feathery and gentle that goosebumps covered every inch of my skin. I sucked in a breath, pursing my lips together. His touch became more evident on my skin, as I felt him step even closer to me. His other hand travelled to my waist as well, and I closed my eyes shut, enjoying it for a moment before I would have to push him away. I sighed, and turned around.
"What are you doing?" I snapped at him, pushing his hands away from my body.
"You look so beautiful," he said softly, moving my hair away from my face, as his fingers brushed against my skin.
"Stop this," I said, and tried to push him away, but he once again grabbed my wrists and pushed me backwards, against the wall. He pinned my wrists on either side of me, leaving me no way to run from him.
"Sh-shadrach, get... Get away from me," I whispered, struggling to get my wrists free from his hold. His face was only inches away from mine, our noses almost touching, our heavy breaths mingling with each other.
"Shhh..." He whispered, his breath fanning my lips, "Just stay still," he ordered, his tone authoritative. It took me back to all those times he had previously pinned me against the wall, or against his jeep, and my heart began to hammer in my chest.
"This, this isn't right!" I begged, trying hard to get away from him, but he had me completely caged between his body and the wall.
"I'm not going to hurt you in any way, my Queen, I promise," he whispered, looking into my eyes, before he started leaning in.
I stood still, shivers creeping down my spine, and turned my face to the side, my eyes tightly shut.
