A Wrench in the Investigation

A Wrench in the Investigation
Tracy awoke to find herself in a strange room on a strange bed. She looked around hoping to find the others but instead found the was completely alone. She got up sliding her feet into her boots. Sun signed through the windows. The dusty curtains were tattered and the cover on the bed was rather threadbare. The floral comforter was covered in dust which made Tracy sneeze.

Something was wrong. She knew she'd fallen asleep in the living room with the others still awake. She figured that they'd gone to sleep at some point and Vivian had struck, putting some twisted plan she made into action. Tracy got up and headed for the door. She turned the knob and pulled. Nothing. She was locked in here alone.

“Courtney! Alex! Guys are you out here?!” She didn't like being on her own, not with a crazy ghost on the loose. She tugged at the door again but yet again it wouldn't budge. They'd been doing well working together. They'd finally bonded and began to work together. Now Vivian had quite literally torn them apart.

Pov Change

Courtney sat up to find herself on the cold hard ground of a fairly empty room. There were boxes piled up on one side and old paint cans littered the ground to her right. A bronze light fixture shone over head when she flipped the light switch on. Where was she? She hadn't been in this room yet or at least she didn't remember coming in here before now.

She looked around momentarily for the others before realizing she was alone. This couldn't have come at a worse time. They'd been so close to finding the murder. So close to escaping Vivian's wretched home. Now she didn't even know what was going on.

She raked her fingers through her hair before pulling it up into a ponytail. After she took a deep breath to regain her composure she reached for her tennis shoes and pulled them on without untying the laces. She got up and dusted her clothes off heading for the double doors before her. She took hold of the fancy bronze handle and pulled.

Nothing. This was bad. They only had thirteen days left. They couldn't just waste one locked away. The door was locked from the outside which meant she couldn't just let herself out. If the others were stuck like she was then they were screwed.

Pov Change

Luke hit his head on one of the rafters as he sat up in a room with a rather small window. He rubbed his eyes reaching for his shoes. The sun was in his eyes and there was an annoying bird singing outside. He groaned as he sat up stretching. He pulled his high tops on while looking around.

There were boxes and shelves filled with really old antiques. Some were even older than the furniture throughout the house. There was a mannequin in the corner that looked rather creepy. He couldn't see a door as he stood up. The ceiling turned down in sudden slopes at the far edges of the room and there was a door in the floor. Apparently he was in the attic.

He sighed and attempted to push the door down. It popped open a sliver only to reveal junk piled up to keep the door shut. Fantastic, he thought as he stood back up dusting the knees of his jeans off. He wasn't getting out until that was moved away so he was stuck here unfortunately. He hoped it would take long for the others to find him.

Pov Change

Sam woke up in a fairly cold room. Cobwebs clung to the ceiling though the spiders in them were long since dead. Empty shelves lined the walls. His shoes were probably still in the living room because he couldn't see them in here. The room was small and there was barely enough room for him to lie down.

He drew his knees to his chest as he looked around. There were no windows and he was obviously on his own though it wasn't by choice. He already figured the door was locked. He knew Vivian had to be behind this. He was used to the weirdness that came with being trapped here so this didn't faze him much. He was however concerned for Alex and the others. He was probably on his own too and there was no telling what Vivian was planning to do with them all.
