Chapter 28

He didn't even wait for me to put down the bag that I just took from his parents' car and he just dragged me to the sea. He let go of my hand and for a moment took a deep breath and I saw on his face how happy he was.

I suddenly realized that maybe I made the right decision to stay with Darren because today might be the first day that he likes me too.

We are here at Darren's family's private resort. One day, his parents invited us to go to their private resort as a celebration that Darren had finally moved on with Chiara. I was quiet at that time but deep inside I was hurt because I remembered that incident where Darren just left me but it was good and he called me at night and asked for another chance to fix our relationship.

"You know what" he turned to me and I couldn't help but blush so I turned in another direction. I felt ashamed. Because after a long time, this is the first time he looked at me like that.

"Is there a problem?" I didn't notice that he was close to me and he slowly caressed my cheek causing me to thrill even more. I bit my lip and looked away.

I heard him laugh. "You're so cute when you blush!"

I don't know but I was even more thrilled and I couldn't stop myself from hugging him tightly. You know the feeling of having too much fun because I feel like he only now appreciates me because in the past he noticed Chiara more than me.

But when I realized that I was hugging him, I immediately let go with an awkward laugh. I also moved away from him a little bit so that somehow he wouldn't be too close to me.

"You know what, come here" and he just came to me and hugged me. And I was whispered.

"I promise I'll forget about Chiara and I'll start to love you" I just smiled at what he said.

We were just hanging out on the edge of the sea when I felt him hold my hand, he even interwined his hands into mine causing me to look at him for a moment and then I looked up at him.

He wasn't looking at me but you could see the smile on his face even in his eyes.

So I just smiled and we just continued our walk.

But later, his parents called us to eat. We went to the dining area and I must say it was very nice. I can definitely say that even if Darren doesn't become an actor, they can afford to buy expensive things because their family has a business.

"We're so thankful hija because our daughter met you. We're happy because she finally moved on with Chiara because honestly it hurts us when we see Darren hurt" I just remained silent while listening to what Darren's Mom was saying while Darren was stunned by his food and seemed to be deep in thought.

What could Darren be thinking? Is it Chiara again?

Most of the time we were in the dining room, I was just worried looking at Darren. Even though he continued his food, you could still clearly see in his eyes that he was sad. Even if he doesn't say it, you will know that something is bothering him.

"Ija, are you okay?" I immediately turned to Darren's Mom when she called me. I just tried to smile when I looked at him. I even saw worry in her eyes.

"Is something wrong, Ija?"

I just shook my head and continued eating even though sometimes I glanced at Darren who remained quietly eating.

"It's good that your parents allowed you, Ija and to think that it's far away" said Darren's Mom smiling after calling for dessert.

I swallowed what I was chewing before I spoke. "Of course, Mom and Dad let me and we're going to have a break."

And I finished what I was saying with a smile. The whole time Darren's Mom was just talking while I was listening and sometimes I glanced at Darren while Darren's Dad was smiling listening to his wife's story.

"Do you have a problem?" I asked when I saw Darren sitting on the opposite side of the beach and throwing stones one by one into the water. He was sitting quietly on the sand when I approached him.

"If I said nothing, would you believe me?" I turned to him and I didn't expect that our faces were close to each other and the tips of our noses almost kissed.

I want to close my eyes to feel the moment but I won't. I don't want to let him know that I'm really excited.

But in less than a few seconds, he turned his face away from me, causing me to feel a little disappointed that I didn't let him know.

I just turned in another direction and answered his question.

"Depends, if what is said is believable why can't I believe it?" and then I looked at him and I caught him looking at me seriously. I frowned because of the seriousness on his face.

"D-darren?" I feel like I'm starting to blush.

I felt something when he caressed my cheek. I want to stay away but I won't because he might think I'm avoiding him.

He caressed my cheek with his hands resting on my hair which is still looking at me seriously. Until his hand returned to my cheek and he caressed it again and then his gaze dropped to my lips and then he even bit his lip.

"If I tell you that I want to kiss you, will you let me?"
