Chapter 191

Chapter 191

Levi held my hand with satisfaction and hummed, "You should give me more gifts like this from now on."

"How about I just move all the raw materials home and decorate everything for you?"

"Deal."

I pursed my lips, "Mr. Morgan, you're still too extravagant."

"As long as you're happy."

"Wow, so now you care about whether I'm happy or not."

His eyes drifted toward the sunset, "Before... I wasn't good enough."

"Um, I'm hungry."

I tried to change the subject. Talking about the past always felt heavy. Our past few years had been bland as water, almost like two parallel lines.

Today was his birthday - we couldn't let it end so casually.

"Then let's go eat."

I really liked seeing Levi in shorts. Without the suit and tie, at this moment, I felt like he was just a sunny boy.

If you didn't say anything, people might think he was still a sunny teenager.

How had time left no trace on him?

In business, he was decisive and ruthless, but in life, he was simply like a naive young man.

And me? Pregnant, having to be careful about everything.

Following behind him, thinking about all this, he suddenly stopped, and I bumped solidly into his back.

He turned around, gently rubbing my forehead, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

I casually brushed the hair from my forehead, hiding my fluster. Every time I came into contact with him, my heart raced.

"Look over there."

I followed where Levi was pointing and saw Nola and John.

The two of them were waving enthusiastically at me. Nola was wearing a particularly beautiful dress, white gauze floating up, the sunset casting golden light on it.

If she weren't pregnant, Nola would have run over already. Even so, John could barely hold her back as she walked quickly toward me.

I also strode toward her.

Levi followed behind me, telling me to slow down.

I thought when they mentioned getting together it was just for some free day, but it looked like today wasn't a coincidence - it was all arranged by Levi.

"Blair, this place you picked is really nice. I couldn't wait to feel this comfortable sea breeze as soon as I arrived."

"I picked...?"

I looked back at Levi. He smiled slightly, and I knew he had invited them in my name.

"You're romantic too, choosing to come here to celebrate his birthday. Didn't you always go back to Mr. Morgan's place for dinner before?"

I had told Nola that every year, Levi's birthday was the same - the Morgan mansion would prepare a grand party for him.

"Um, I..."

Could I say this was all Levi's arrangement?

"Where are you guys planning to go?"

John could tell I was being evasive.

"Getting ready to eat."

"Perfect, we get food as soon as we arrive."

John put his arm around Nola's shoulder, "Honey, we're in for a treat today. This has got to be the most luxurious meal."

"You're being modest. Your family's restaurant business is so big - what delicious food haven't you tried?"

"Blair, you're wrong about that. This seafood must be freshly caught. My family's is pretty fresh too, but it's still not quite the same."

I poked Levi's arm, "You should know what we're eating, right?"

"Yeah."

John grinned, "Hey, look at me, I was just talking."

"You call that just talking? You're clearly ordering."

Nola rolled her eyes at him again, and John gave me a "help me" look.

"We were just wondering what to eat tonight anyway. Now we have a direction, so let's go."

I pulled Nola to my side, "We two will walk in front."

"Good, I've been wanting to get away from him. These past few days have worn me out - every day going to relatives' houses to eat, eat, eat. Finally free."

"First year of marriage, that's normal."

Nola pursed her lips, "Purely because his family has too many relatives."

"A thriving family is good."

"Yeah, and you're adding to the Morgan family, too. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan must love you so much."

I smiled slightly, "Even without the baby, Grandpa and Grandma treat me very well."

"God looks after you, too, not making you suffer everywhere. I notice Levi looks at you differently now - there's love in his eyes."

Nola whispered to me.

"Love? I haven't noticed."

We two whispered quietly while those two followed silently behind us.

John didn't start any topics either. I just heard him wish Levi a happy birthday.

We came to a seafood specialty restaurant. Almost all of them here were similar, but this one was the biggest. John said celebrating Levi's birthday had to be done in style.

Nola joked that since Levi was paying anyway, she might as well try everything she liked.

Actually, I don't like seafood. What we usually have at home is crab, shrimp, and the like. I don't even like abalone, which people love to eat.

But I've never expressed that I don't like seafood. When we have it at home, I mostly avoid it and eat other dishes.

When all the dishes arrived, John excused himself to the bathroom, and soon he came back pushing a big cake.

"You have to have cake for a birthday. I heard that Levi almost never eats cake on his birthday."

"He rarely eats sweets."

In the years I've spent with Levi, he really doesn't like desserts. At most, he'll eat a little because Celestia insists.

"Don't like it?"

I was about to speak when Levi spoke first.

"It's not like that."

Levi stood up and lit the candles with John.

Nola suggested singing the birthday song. Levi made a wish during the song and blew out the candles.

"Let me cut the cake."

Levi rarely does these things. I'd help distribute the cake to give him less to do, since I hadn't done much for his birthday today anyway.

I had just stood up when I stepped on something slippery. Before I knew it, I fell face-first into the cake, and the perfectly good birthday cake was instantly smashed to pieces.

"Are you okay?"

Levi helped me up. After I stood straight, my belly was covered in frosting.

"I'm fine."

John had a quick idea, "Haha, I think the babies are more eager than us - eager to eat their dad's birthday cake."

"Right, right." Nola chimed in.

Hearing them joke made me feel a bit better. "I just feel bad about ruining such a beautiful cake."

"It doesn't matter."

John scooped some frosting from the cake. His eyes were on me, but his hand reached toward Levi, and a glob of frosting landed precisely on Levi's cheek.

"Haha, doesn't Mr. Morgan look cute like this..."

Nola opened her camera. "Haha, that's cute. Let me document this."

"Hey..."

I was about to stop them, but then I saw Levi grab some frosting and start fighting back, so I said nothing and just quietly watched them play around.

"Slow down, don't bump into Nola."

This was the first time I'd seen two men horsing around. Isn't this the kind of fun only we girls have?
