Chapter 171

Chapter 171

Cleo was the most sensitive one. She found Aiden's words quite intriguing.

"It's nothing."

Aiden couldn't mention the stock transfer. Once Cleo found out, all hell would break loose.

"You gave her more benefits again, didn't you?"

Cleo glanced at me. "You don't need to hide it from me. I know my position isn't as good as hers. I won't try to win your favor."

She was used to speaking her mind. Actually, Aiden wasn't really angry with her; he just felt she was being undignified.

"You don't have to do things you don't like just to please me. I'm old, you don't need to butter me up. You living your own life well is better than anything."

"Dad, Cleo's just talking nonsense. The divorce has upset her; she doesn't know what she's saying."

Levi's father stepped in to speak up for Cleo. If he let her continue, everyone would be unhappy before they even got to the family dinner.

"Cleo, apologize to your grandfather now."

"No need!"

Aiden stood up and hit the floor hard with his cane. "If you don't want to come, don't force yourself. Think about who you are before you speak."

Cleo lowered her head. She realized she'd said the wrong thing.

"Blair, come with me."

"Oh."

I followed behind Aiden and noticed his back wasn't as straight as before. I felt a bit sorry for him. He'd worked hard for the Morgan family his whole life, and now he had to deal with his granddaughter talking back to him.

We went to the study. Jasper closed the door and stood guard outside.

"Have a seat."

I sat down slowly. "Grandpa, don't be angry with Cleo. She's probably just scared of crowds."

"She has to move on, doesn't she? After all this, she should see him for who he really is, but she seems to be blaming us instead."

"About the divorce, Levi was the trigger, but her husband's cheating is really unforgivable."

"I know her. Everything shows on her face. You can't find a second person in the whole family with so little guile."

I thought it was time to end this topic, or Aiden's anger wouldn't calm down.

"Grandpa, when I'm not working anymore, I'll learn calligraphy from you."

"Your paintings are excellent. With practice, your calligraphy won't be bad either. But by the time you stop working, I'm afraid I won't be around anymore."

"Grandpa, don't say such depressing things."

I stood up and poured him a cup of tea.

"Grandpa is virtuous and kind and compassionate. You'll definitely live to be a hundred."

Aiden's eyes reddened. "I don't ask for a long life. I just hope everyone in the family is safe and well."

"They will be. Everyone will be."

He changed the subject. "Blair, do you want to relocate your father's grave?"

Aiden knew about this, too?

When did Levi become so loose-lipped...

"Grandpa, you know about it."

"When you were talking earlier, Jasper heard it. He sent me a message saying you seemed worried."

I looked at the figure outside the door. Jasper was so observant. Levi and I had only exchanged a few words, and he'd picked up on this information.

"Yes, I was thinking about it."

Aiden stroked his chin. "Blair, I just had someone check, and right now, really isn't a good time to relocate a grave."

"Grandpa, I've troubled you again..."

"Hey, don't be polite with me. After all, he's your biological father. His grave affects your fortune and luck, too."

"Mm."

Aiden smiled kindly. "Levi even got told off by Jessa over this."

"Huh?"

"Jasper told me about his phone call, too."

A chill ran down my back. At this moment, I felt Jasper was the most formidable person, way more capable than Levi's bodyguards.

He'd been waiting for me at the storage room door earlier. How did he know what Levi said on the phone?

"I'll talk to that Jessa. Leave this matter to me. You just focus on your own things."

"Grandpa, let me handle this myself. I have a way."

I couldn't always have Aiden step in to solve things. He would definitely offer terms that satisfied Jessa, and that was really unnecessary.

"Alright then. Tell me if you have any difficulties."

"Okay, don't worry."

Aiden chuckled. "Since you don't need me, then do some work for me."

"Whatever you need."

"Make me a pot of tea."

I smiled. "That's easy."

"Blair, you don't want Cleo to know about the stock transfer?"

"Grandpa, you know, giving me the stocks isn't reasonable. Levi and I are one family. Cleo would feel you're playing favorites."

"Fine, fine, let's not talk about it."

Actually, I was grateful they were working so hard for me, but it seemed like their concern was causing chaos.

Levi hit a wall with Jessa, Aiden was talked back to by Cleo - these were all things I didn't want to see. I wanted to face and solve problems my own way.

I gently closed the door. Seeing Aiden calm down and drink his tea, I breathed a sigh of relief.

Levi was waiting for me in the corridor and gave me a look that said not to make a fuss.

I walked to his side and asked quietly, "Aren't you bringing Celestia home today?"

"She's having fun with Hayden. Let her stay with Mom and Dad. That way, my sister's emotions stay stable. Let's go back first."

"Then I'll go say goodbye."

"No need, let's just go."

I followed behind him as he held my hand and led me forward.

Everything that happened today worried me. Jessa was so cold-hearted. I didn't expect she'd be so distant with Levi, too.

And Aiden learned of my intention to relocate the grave. He even consulted a fengshui master for me. When would I stop making him worry about me?

"Listen, please don't go looking for Jessa anymore, okay?"

Levi stopped. "I can't explain clearly on the phone. I'll find a chance to talk to her in person."

"Please stop getting involved in this, okay? I have a way. You getting involved will just make things messier. Can you trust me?"

"Okay."

Hearing him agree, I finally calmed down a bit.

The driver opened the car door early. Seeing both our faces looked bad, he didn't dare say anything.

As soon as we got in the car, Levi picked up his thermos.

"Did you drink it?"

I didn't want to talk. My mind was all jumbled.

"Yes, yes, he drank it."

The driver said repeatedly.

Levi put down the cup and leaned back.

I turned my face away and looked at the scenery outside the window.

"I have a meeting. Drop me off at the intersection ahead, then take her home."

He had a meeting? Why didn't he drive himself instead of getting in the car with me? Was he so angry that he wasn't thinking straight?

"Yes, Mr. Morgan."

"Take him first. It's fine if I get home later."

Levi said stiffly, "No need."

The driver was in a difficult position and said tentatively, "Mrs. Morgan, should I take you home first?"

"Mm."

I was too lazy to argue with him. It was better if I got home early anyway. At least I wouldn't have to look at his sour face. Somehow, we'd ended up in a silent fight.

I closed my eyes, thinking, "He's not meeting with Jessa, is he?"
