Chapter 163

Chapter 163

Nola and John looked at me meaningfully.

I knew they were shocked by Levi's actions again.

"I don't know his schedule. He didn't say anything about his business trip, and he never contacted me during that time. Plus, he parachuted a female CEO into the Morgan Group."

"Oh my god, this is huge gossip."

Nola looked at me in disbelief. "Blair, how much has happened since my engagement? I haven't heard about any of this."

"John didn't know either?"

John waved his hand. "I really didn't know. I only contacted him once to invite him to the engagement party. Since those two have a special relationship, I invited them separately."

"That time, he said Levi would be back soon, but it took several more days," Nola explained on John's behalf.

"Looks like you two aren't that into gossip after all, can't even get the inside scoop."

I smiled. "During Levi's business trip, he went to Eldoria and met with a very influential diamond tycoon there. I'm guessing now that this batch of materials was probably ordered from them."

"Most likely. Our company's cash flow doesn't have that much money for inventory. The batch you personally selected was already very high quality."

"Anyway, since it's already been delivered, I've solved the warehouse problem for you guys."

John said proudly, waiting for Nola's praise.

"Solved?"

"Yeah, my family happens to have a warehouse that's currently empty. I just sent a message to confirm, and it's still available."

"That's great, I was really worried about this."

I urgently wanted to know the truth about this. I couldn't wait to meet with Levi right away. I wanted to know why he did this. With this batch of goods, the design department would probably be swamped again.

Also, this batch of goods was quite expensive. Was he doing this as a simple investment or as a selfless donation?

Although Heartstrings Jewelry is mine, Nola also has shares. Some things need to be kept separate between business and personal matters. I explained this to Nola, and she understood.

I checked the time—ten-thirty. Going to find Levi might be a bit early, but if I didn't go, I'd feel uneasy.

"Nola, you guys should head back. We'll talk about this later."

"Also, thanks so much for the warehouse. As for the warehouse fees, the company's finance department will handle it later."

Nola rolled her eyes. "Blair, why are you being so precise about this? His warehouse isn't being used temporarily anyway."

"That's two different things. Warehouses are in demand and could easily be rented out for profit. Solving the company's urgent problem is already something to be grateful for."

I smiled gently. "Nola, you should know me. Let's settle it this way, okay?"

Nola was speechless. "Well, if we're being so precise, Levi's batch of raw materials needs to be accounted for too."

"That's a separate matter. I'm going to meet with him right now."

John's eyes lit up. "You're going to see him? Then I'll come too. I want to see his style—making such big moves with a wave of his hand."

"Why are you joining in? This meeting might not be pleasant. Look at Blair's face—she's probably going to have it out with Levi."

I wasn't going to confront him. I just wanted to figure some things out.

"I'm leaving now. You guys be careful on the road. Nola, watch your diet. Bye."

My mind was full of Levi now. I had to see him right away.

On the way, I called him, but he kept not answering.

I guessed he might be in a meeting, but when I arrived at the company building, he still wasn't answering my calls.

What frustrated me was that he actually had the receptionist tell me to take the CEO's private elevator directly to his office.

When I got to his office door, there wasn't a single person on this floor. James's office door was tightly closed, and Levi's secretaries were all gone, too.

This was very unusual. Even to avoid suspicion, it shouldn't be like this.

I knocked on his office door. "I called so many..."

"Ah!"

Levi actually opened the door for me himself.

He startled me. I completely didn't expect him to open the door.

Seeing my shocked expression, Levi patted my shoulder. "Are you okay?"

"Are you worried about scaring me, or scaring the baby?"

If I weren't pregnant now, Levi wouldn't care about me, right? Was it my imagination, or was there tenderness in his eyes?

"What do you need?"

He changed the subject. I knew he would never answer directly—this only applied to me.

He gestured for me to sit down, and under my surprised gaze, he poured me a glass of water.

In the past, he would tell me to serve tea and water. Now the roles were reversed?

"What's the deal with that batch of goods? James didn't explain in detail."

Levi leaned back lazily in his chair. "You happened to need it, and I happened to have it."

"I need it?"

I pointed at my chest.

"Don't you?"

"Whatever I need, I'll choose myself. You sent so much all at once..."

"If you don't have space, I can provide you with a warehouse."

I listened to his casual tone, as if this was just a small matter to him.

"No need, John helped solve it."

Levi nodded. "That works too."

"My company can't use that much right now, and I don't have enough money to pay you. Please don't make decisions on your own, okay?"

"I'm giving it for free. This batch of goods, you can do whatever you want with it. It doesn't have to be related to your company."

I was so frustrated I almost rolled my eyes.

"Mr. Morgan, do you think this is fun? With so many materials, even if I just played around with them, it would take many years, okay?"

Levi chuckled. "Playing with them one by one definitely won't work. For businesspeople, mass production is better."

He actually laughed. Did he find my current state amusing?

"I can't give you money right now."

I still needed to make this clear to him. This really wasn't a small amount.

His face suddenly became serious. "There's no need to be so precise about this. You're working hard being pregnant, while being a dad is easy for me. If we tried to calculate this, we couldn't figure it out."

Did his conscience finally kick in?

He'd never said pregnancy was hard for me before.

When I was pregnant with Celestia, I still had to work as his secretary.

"Was your business trip for this batch of goods?"

When I asked what I most wanted to know, I secretly watched for changes in his expression.

I saw his face suddenly calm down again, not so serious anymore.

"Not entirely, just while I was there."

This answer didn't need any further questioning. He wouldn't tell me directly. There was no point in saying more.

I clenched my fists. "This batch of goods is very good. I really like it. When I make a profit, I'll naturally give you dividends."

Since we couldn't calculate it clearly, I'd just have my own standard in mind. It wasn't convenient for me to stay here long, in case people gossiped.

I felt that my identity as CEO of Heartstrings Jewelry would soon be discovered, and the fact that I was Mrs. Morgan might also be announced by Levi in some excited moment.

He was becoming more and more unpredictable to me now.

"I think you should wait until the baby is older before..."

I knew what he was going to say, so I interrupted him.

"You're the one who increased my workload. For every extra day those materials sit in the warehouse, I have to pay an extra day's rent."
