Chapter 102

Chapter 102

It had been almost a week, and I had been staying at the office.

Levi called me twice, but I rejected both calls.

Celestia also called me, saying she missed me and asking when I'd be back from my business trip. The business trip was probably an excuse everyone made up to keep her from feeling sad.

I made up my mind not to contact them. After I rejected Faye's call, she sent me a message saying she didn't want to see Jessa and the others, so she decided to stay with her aunt for a few days.

So now Celestia probably has to spend every day with Cleo and Jessa. If they're not home often, that's fine, but otherwise I'm a bit worried about my daughter.

I'm afraid they'll slowly drive a wedge between me and my daughter. I'm afraid if Hayden and Celestia have a little conflict, no one will take Celestia's side.

Levi can't bring Celestia to the office, so he can only rely on Indigo.

Nola knocked on my office door.

"I'm coming in."

She came earlier today. She pushed open the door and walked over with a smile.

"If you ask me, you should just go back. Why don't you just have Levi send them all away?" Nola put breakfast on my desk. "If you're using this to test our friendship, there's really no need. Haha, I've got a loyal follower buying you food every day."

I was confused. "John?"

"Exactly."

Nola laughed quietly. "He's hoping every day for you to go home, for you and Levi to make up. The dinner party thing - you guys might have mentioned it casually, but he took it seriously."

"He's really something."

The meals these past few days have all been different. I thought Nola was just helping me change things up.

It's actually funny - I'm just not living at home, but I don't even want to go out to eat. I'm just holed up at the office.

Nola sat down next to me. "When you decorated your office, were you already thinking about living here yourself?"

"Hm?"

"Otherwise, why would you make your rest room so well-equipped? I asked you to stay at my place, and you wouldn't."

I opened the food container and started eating breakfast.

"The office isn't easy to find. Your place is too easy to discover."

Nola frowned. "Actually, you two don't really have any conflict. It's just outsiders causing trouble, and you keep avoiding it. Why don't you just tell Levi directly to make them leave?"

"My attitude was very clear that day, but he was vague about it."

"So you got mad and left home?"

"If I didn't leave, was I supposed to stay and watch them enjoy themselves?"

"That's weak."

Nola rolled up her sleeves. "If it were me, I'd definitely fight them for three hundred rounds until they all left my house. I wouldn't be the one to leave. Why should I let them mess up my home?"

"Then I'll hire you to go kick them out," I joked.

"I'm not going. Just Levi's sister alone is more than I can handle."

I put down my utensils. "Then what's there to say? Neither of them is easy to deal with."

"You're the lady of the house, you can do it. I'm an outsider, I can't deal with them."

I wiped my hands. "I never wanted to deal with them. I just don't want Jessa appearing in my home. If she comes to sit with Cleo, that's fine - after all, I'm not home during the day. But her moving in? I absolutely can't stand that."

"Ugh, this is tough. By the way, aren't you scared staying at the office by yourself?" Nola's eyes were full of curiosity.

"I pull the blanket over my head, put on earphones, and listen to music. When I'm tired, I fall asleep."

Nola clicked her tongue. "Today you're coming home with me. No matter what, I can't let you stay here alone anymore."

"Go to work, Ms. Skye."

After Nola left, I cleaned up the unfinished food on my desk. John really put thought into this. I heard he had trouble getting up in the morning, and he was a company president, too.

He's clearly capable himself, but he admires someone arrogant like Levi. Now, whenever I think of Levi calling me stubborn, I want to punch him a few times.

The party I mentioned before probably won't happen anytime soon. Even if Levi is willing, I'm not anymore. I'm fine staying at the office by myself, except I really miss my daughter.

Ever since coming to Heartstrings Jewelry, my Celestia keeps getting hurt, and I haven't been taking good care of her. She's so strong, too, never complaining to me.

I can't imagine how lonely she must be right now.

I picked up my phone, opened my contacts, and found Celestia's number, but I couldn't bring myself to call.

If I can't resist contacting Celestia, I'm afraid she'll be sad at home. Without Faye by her side, she'll feel helpless.

But where Faye goes is her freedom. I can't tie her and Celestia together...

Feeling drowsy and confused, I finally made it to noon.

Nola rushed into my office.

"Blair, your husband called me."

I put down my pen. "What did he say?"

"He said he and Celestia are downstairs right now. If you don't meet with them, they're coming up."

I stood up immediately. Jessa had already caused a scene at the office once, saying I was Levi's wife. If he brought the child up to find me, wouldn't that prove it directly?

This move of Levi's was too ruthless. He knows I don't plan to go public, so he's using this to pressure me.

"Blair, I don't think it's a big deal. Your relationship will have to go public sooner or later."

"What if we get divorced?"

Nola's face changed suddenly. "Don't you dare say that. Don't let them win. Ruining your relationship is exactly what they want."

"I'm coming in."

John slowly pushed open the door. Nola and I both opened our eyes wide.

"Mommy, come home with us!"

When Celestia appeared from behind him, I completely froze. That "Mommy" almost made me jump out of my skin.

Nola rushed over, covered Celestia's mouth, then picked her up and sat down on the sofa.

Before I could say anything, Levi walked in casually.

The three of them just came up from downstairs like that?

"Ran into them. I guess I don't need to bring you dinner tonight." John put the bag on my desk.

He said with a smile, "My takeout might not be as good as your home cooking, but this is definitely the best from the restaurant. I had the head chef make it specially."

John's family owns several restaurants and hotels. The food he brings is all top quality.

"Levi, as a man, you should give in to your wife more. You can put yourself through hardship, but you can't let your wife suffer. Don't you think?"

"Yes."

Levi agreed.

"We shouldn't get involved in matters between you two, but I think you're perfect for each other, and you have such a lovely daughter. Make it work."

"Mm."

The two of them going back and forth like this made my mind go confused. I don't know how many people saw them come up just now.

"Mommy, come home. I miss you."

Levi's trump card is my daughter, right? Once she speaks up, what reason do I have not to go back?

"You guys take the stairs, I'll take the elevator."

John pouted. "That's a bit harsh, it's so high up..."
