Chapter 160
Chapter 160
Matt’s POV
You’re stupid for believing her, Matt. She’s manipulating you.”
I stared at my twin brother. “What if it’s true? What if dad was really involved in Eva Foster’s death?”
Mason laughed and positioned himself to play his turn. He threw the dart and it hit the bullseye. “Don’t be stupid. Matt. Don’t won’t do that. If it’s uncle Wes, I’d believe you. But dad? Nah!”
Right! I couldn’t believe it too but I heard it from his own mouth.
I swallowed hard. I wanted to tell Mason about what I discovered but I don’t wanna hurt him too. We looked up to dad as we grew up. He’s the kindest and we never see him making mistakes before…or we were just blinded by our love for him.
Mason handed me a dart and smirked. “Don’t let that btch get into your head, Matt. She’s stealing everything from us. Who knows if she’s just acting innocent. And have you seen that bastard Pierce Anderson? I heard they’re best friends and that Kelly just stole him from his fiance.”
I gritted my teeth. We heard every little rumors circulating around about our family. Our name was dragged in the scandals that Kelly was involved in.
I threw the dart to the board and stared at where it landed. Mason laughed behind me and tapped my shoulders.
“See? That girl will only distract you.”
No. Kelly couldn’t distract me. The woman who could distract me was Emily, Kelly’s friend. I don’t know if she’s really trying to betray Kelly. Whenever I see them so close, I feel like she’s just trying to lure me.
I’m not stupid. I graduated with latin honors and it’s not that I’m bragging but I know how to analyze people’s emotions. However, I still find it hard to understand Emily because that woman feels like a living dead. She doesn’t show emotions. Her eyes were always…empty but full of hatred.
Unable to take it anymore, I grabbed my phone and dialed Emily’s number.
We had a one night stand and she doesn’t give a damn about it. It’s not like I’m being emotional or sentimental over that. I had flings and girls before but Emily’s different. Maybe it was her eyes. Maybe I wanna see how those eyes can smile and show tenderness instead of hatred. I’m curious about how those eyes would look like if it’s full of life, not dull and empty.
“Tss!” I hissed when the first call ended without her answering. Annoyed, I tried it again…and again…and again until I heard her annoyed voice.
[If a person didn’t answer your call twice, don’t call for the third time. That’s rude!]
I clenched my jaws. “You’re the one who’s rude. Are you avoiding me?”
She laughed sarcastically, making me even more irritated. [Yes.]

Chapter 180
“Why?” I growled.
Hesus! Wit isn’t obvious, I’m avoiding you because I don’t like you!
You don’t like me? Then the hell did you sleep with me?”
I sleep with every hot man who is interested, Matt. Don’t feel special]
Iballed my fists as my eyes sharpened. “No, Emily. Not after you tasted me. I’ll make sure you can no longer kiss another man. I will make sure of that!”
I feel so angry. Our conversation continued and I feel like she’s intently making me angry. I don’t know but with her. I feel like I’m losing control.
I went back beside Mason after Emily dropped the call. He’s now sitting on the bar, drinking whiskey.
“You seem pretty angry. Woman? Who is it?” Mason asked without lifting his face to look at me.
I gritted my teeth and pouted whiskey on an empty glass. I have no intention of answering him.
Mason chuckled. “I hope it’s not a serious case. Women will only ruin you.”
I shook my head and pressed my lips together. I understand him but I don’t want my experiences or any circumstances to ruin me.
“Mason…”
“If you want any advice, I won’t talk to you, brother.”
I hissed. “I just wanna know if you’re interested in managing the family business once dad won against Kelly.”
Mason looked at me and smirked. “Brother, I have no idea about managing a business. Between the two of us, you’re the prodigy. So if there’s someone who deserves the position aside from dad, it’s you.”
Shaking my head, I chuckled. “I’m not into business, Mason.”
He smirked. “I don’t understand why you studied psychology when you’re so good at business.”
I just grinned and gulped my drinks. I want to tell Mason, but I couldn’t bring myself to even mention a thing about it. Maybe soon and I hope he’ll understand.
***Kelly’s POV
“Daddy!” Snow screamed when a wild wave ruined the sand castle they’re making.
Pierce laughed hard and carried our little Snow, frowning so bad.
“Daddy, the waves are mean!”
Pierce chuckled and put her down, away from the shore. “Let’s build the castle here instead.”

“But we already started!”
“Let’s just do it again. Bigger this time.”
“Really?” Snow seemed so excited as she sat on the sand.
My smile couldn’t be wiped off while watching them. I was sitting on the sun lounger when someone sat beside me.
“Hey!” I smiled at Emily.
She sighed and lay on the sun lounger, looking so annoyed.
I chuckled. “He called again?”
She lifted her sunglasses only to show me how she rolled her eyes, making me laugh again.

“God, Kelly! Your cousin is so persistent. He called five times today. I’m so annoyed! How come he couldn’t forget the night we spent together? Was he a virgin when we fcked?”
I bit my bottom lip when an old couple walked in front of us and looked at us with disgust on their faces.
“Calm down, Emily.”
“How can I calm down? This morning he said he would make sure that I can never forget his touch and just now, he threatened me that he’ll tell you about what I’m planning behind your back if I don’t meet him tonight.”
I burst into laughter. “Really?”
She frowned. “He graduated with latin honors and he’s a psychologist but he’s plain stupid.”
She had him investigated. Hmm!
“I’m telling you, I’m gonna play with your cousin until he loses his mind. Don’t hate me for that, Kels.”
I smirked. “Not a problem for me.”
I looked at Pierce and Snow again but my eyebrow automatically shot up when I saw a woman in a bikini, trying to strike up a conversation with Pierce.
Ha! I shouldn’t have allowed him to take his shirt off, showcasing his ripped abs. Damn!
