Chapter 46
After a long journey, Matthias found Federica's figure coming out of her hiding place. Federica has a fox tail, snake scales, and very seductive irises on her body. Matthias stepped slowly between the vampires and the enemies defending each other's territory, observing his admiration for the half-blood.
"Oh...come on, baby..."
Federica met the blonde man's gaze and then shook her head, trying to escape Matthias' control. Federica took a few steps back when the Grim Ripper was now in front of her, ready to prey. Matthias bowed in greeting and respect to the red-haired girl. He can't wait to unite his strength with Federica's power through a battle between half-bloods.
"Your body is too weak, Stella, oops... your name changed to Federica Dawson," said Matthias. “Any goodbyes? To Liam? William? Gessy? Aaron? Oh... they're all dead, Fed.”
Federica's eyes widened in disbelief. The next second, he screamed and then hit Matthias with anger. William, a kind-hearted human being, did not deserve to die at Matthias' hands. She loved William like her own father. Federica cried in her anger regretting why she didn't protect the man.
Matthias dodged the attack easily and smiled sweetly at Federica. The anger towards the girl seemed to be a strength growing within Matthias. He gripped Federica's arms, glaring at the girl. However, Federica hit Matthias's head until his body fell.
Seeing a silver dagger lying on the ground, Federica pointed it straight at Matthias' chest. The scream sounded shrill, but it was Federica who felt the pain from the knife stab. Federica collapsed, feeling short of breath. Matthias stood with the knife still stuck in his chest, leaving Federica in a weak position.
"We are one body, Fed. Nothing can kill us both, even if it's vervain, a silver knife, and..."
Matthias turned around when Ethan tried to attack him with a wet oak trunk. The rod was thrown several meters after Matthias swatted it away with his hand and grabbed Ethan by the neck in human form. The man lifted Ethan's body, making Ethan cough.
Matthias saw that Ethan's left hand was injured; he laughed and then said, "The light of the blood moon made you hurt, huh?" With one movement, Matthias broke Ethan's neck and threw his body flying far away.
"Ethan!" Federica shouted as she got up and forcibly pulled the silver knife across Matthias' chest and stabbed it in her chest. Now Matthias felt the pain until black blood came out of his mouth. "You're strong, but you're stupid, Matthias! We are one body, right?"
Federica ran as fast as she could to find the oak tree to buy time. Unfortunately, the tree fragment Ethan had worked hard to get wasn't in its place. One of the vampires grabs it and burns it innocently. Federica cursed, then pounced on him and tore him to death.
The girl stabbed the knife deeper into her chest., Matthias, who was far behind her, seemed overwhelmed. Without realizing it, Matthias penetrated his chest with his right hand, squeezing his heart, which felt so painful. Federica screamed in pain as the knife came out of her chest.
Federica ran towards the lake red with blood and the appearance of floating snake bodies as best she could. Matthias prevented this by breaking his leg, causing Federica to collapse on the ground immediately.
Federica tried to get up while reaching for the vervain and wolfsbane bottles in her trouser pocket. She gulped the drink down quickly, making Matthias, who was not far from her, scream in pain. Federica was the same; the effect of the poisonous drink made her body blister so that her snake scales looked burnt.
Matthias ran to attack her, but the girl managed to dodge. Federica saw a silver knife scattered on the ground, grabbed it, and stabbed herself in the chest.
"Stop!" shouted Matthias with a red face.
"We are one body, Matthias! We will die together!"
Federica pulls out a knife to rip out her own heart. But unexpectedly, Liam came and stabbed Federica in the heart from behind with a silver stake. Federica turned her head, and her eyes widened when she saw her lover killing her for the second time.
The pain came so intensely, as if it was tearing Federica's body apart at once. Then, it felt as if her head had been hit by a large rock, causing memories within her to spin violently and mixed, making the girl vomit blood from her mouth. Then, the girl's body burned at the same time as Matthias' body burned first.
He ran around looking for help until the two mixed-blood creatures threw themselves into the lake. Instantly, the waters of Blue Lake swelled to the red and became deeper; the oak tree suddenly appeared again and then burned down and turned into charcoal.
Liam didn't know whether what he was doing was right or not. What he heard from Matthias was that he was in the same body as Federica. If Liam cannot approach the strong side like Matthias, then Liam attacks the weak side, namely Federica.

In the water, the two bodies were at the bottom of the lake, trapped by the roots of an oak tree that had not burned. Matthias' charred body was left with bones with stakes and silver knives that had moved through his body. Matthias' body was slowly devoured by the sediment of the lake's soil, along with the tree roots that receded to follow the center of the sediment.
Meanwhile, Federica's body slowly rose to the surface. She opened her eyes and saw that the water around her was completely red. The image of when Federica was first discovered by humans is now spinning in her brain. She saw that her two hands had fox fur, but her lower body had turned into a snake's body. Federica didn't know whether she would die or survive with the side effects after defeating Matthias.
The one who wins will become the ruler.
Suddenly she saw the figure of a man swimming very fast towards her. The figure hugged Federica and pulled her body out of the water. Federica's consciousness, which was on the verge of breaking through, disappeared, but her lips curled into a smile, realizing that this figure was her true love, even though there were many battles to go through.
"Liam..." whispered Federica. "Thank You."
