“guys, this is Chase.” I said and both their postured straightened some more.
“well, this makes it interesting.”
“I will give you both…” Chase started.
“no need for all that, we are here to guard her, as we are her right hand and kinda best friends, but today I'm here for Payton and Davon here” he points at the blue eyed man, “is here to meet someone special. You can calm your tits bro.” eric said
Chase relaxed like 10% and looked at me.
“well, why are you here for Payton?” he asked not looking at the men
“ask her” Davon said.
“it’s a girl secret I can’t break girl code, but I’m sure as hell gonna ask you to look at Vince in the next 20 minutes.”
“uhm okay.” He said, and turns to the men, “ you can leave now, she is safe.”
“well, I need to go with them to tell them what to do.”
“you also have to introduce Davon to Mila” Chase said smiling.
“ how did you know!” I said in surprise
“I know how your mind works.”
“lucky guess.” Eric said and laughed.
“shh. Before he shows the black knife to you.”
“I'm gay, I don’t want carving cause of you. Ew.” Eric says and I watch Chases blank face have glint of amusement.
“you made him internally laugh eric, congratulations.” I said
“How did you know!” he said still holding a blank face
“I know how your mind works.” I winked and he smiled, giving up. Such a softie.
“Come boys. Let’s have some fun. But be prepared for the other men”
“As long as we aren’t going to go head to head with the killer, we’ll be fine.” Davon said.
“Oh, Chase is harmless.” I replied but we all knew the ruthless side to him which lowkey feels so safe, like a short drive home after 5 shots of tequila.
“so who’s the girl” Eric asks me
“her name is Payton and we’re gonna make Vince, the brown haired green eyed guy with the blue shirt on,” I pointed at the 4 of them on near a couch under the only light switched on, gratefully they were in a serious conversation to see me actually point at them, “that dude, and the girl is the full blonde one, not the one with the highlights, the one with the highlights is mila who I actually wanted Davon to meet.”
I looked at both the men and they nodded, “guys, it’s not a mission, don’t be very serious about this, I'm introducing you to my new school friends not giving a kill order.”
Both boys instantly stopped looking serious, great even fun was feeling like an order. I rolled my eyes and shoved Eric towards the group.

I watched as Eric asked Payton to get a drink. I watched her put her hand on his chest and playfully flirt back. I watch as she stepped way to close to him. I watched as Vince’s face turned red from anger with every passing moment. I watched Mila try to hide her laughter, jealous that she was getting a front seat show to the jealousy game.
“do you think he’s getting affected?” Davon asked
“well, his fists are clenched and he’s trying hard not to touch Eric or the wall near them.”
“well eric can take him, how are you so good at body language?”
“been training since I was 12 Davon.”
“oh yeah, in settings like these I forget you're like this badass torturer.”
“134 people and counting.” I said and I looked at him, “ you're ready to meet mila?”
“yeah, but with eric distracted do you think it’s a good idea, we know Charles can be around soon.” He replied unsure. I took his face in my hand and turned it to where chase was leaning on a wall near the bar where we left him, he placed himself in such an angle where he could see me and the scene his members were having. Sensing I was looking at him he smirked and waved.
“okay I get your point.” Davon said, “I wish I had someone to take care of me like this. Or at least a daily fuck buddy, following you around is not really helping that department.”
“well, let me introduce you to Mila and let’s see where this goes, after Eric is done of course.” I replied
We turned to see Payton and Eric missing from where we saw them last. Vince was standing in a rage ready to hit position though. 5 feet away they were swaying to music her back to his front. She was clearly enjoying this. Mila looked over to me and her eyes shifted to Davon behind me. Like a fox she stalked towards us, nodded at me grabbed Davon’s arm and pulled him to the dance floor. Wow. I was proud of my girls.
