Friend Or Foe?

Opening her mouth, Kore allowed Hades to slip his tongue inside. He pulled her closer, clasping her face, before releasing her lips and planting kisses on her neck. She moaned softly, as his hands traveled over her body.

“Kore?” She heard him murmur.

“Yes?”

Leaning up, he looked at her. “Don’t challenge me to a game, you’re not skilled enough to play.” The humor in his eyes, made her rage boil.

She pushed him, “YOU ASSHOLE!”

Laughing, he tossed his hair back, replacing the hair tie. “You started it. You wanted to play a game of chicken, without understanding I don’t play fair." He smirked at her glare, “I will give you credit about one thing though. You were right, what’s under that training gear is most certainly all women.” His chuckle ignited her fury, but his blackened eyes stopped her in her tracks.

“Careful. I told you that rage of yours is going to be your downfall.”

Huffing under her breath, she avoided his stare. Standing, she brushed past him. “Excuse me. Can we pick this up tomorrow? I’m really not in the mood for training anymore today.”

As he watched her walk away he looked back to the ground, his thoughts returning to the passionate moment they'd shared. He scoffed.

*Fucking hell, she’s going to be the death of me in more ways than one. *

Entering the mansion, Kore saw Adam sitting on the couch lost in thought. She sat beside him and placed her head on his shoulder. “She’s very beautiful Adam.”

He stilled, “I don’t want to talk about it Kore.” Leaning forward, Kore extended her hands for him to take. Sighing, he took them, and the two sat in silence as their telepathy allowed her to read what he wouldn't say.

Releasing his hands, she looked at him sadly, “Oh…Da-dem.”

He shook his head. “And the crazy thing is, it makes no sense. I don’t even know her.”

“From what Uncle Romulus told me, your parents were the same when they met.”

He closed his eyes in agitation. “I was better off not knowing.”

Hugging him, the two sat in silence as the reality of their situation washed over them. Kore didn’t want to admit it, but she did feel something for Hades. She wasn’t sure what, but she did know she wanted to kiss him again. She would never act on it though, after the embarrassment that just took place.

“He wouldn’t have kissed you if he didn’t want to. No game of chicken is ever that serious for a God.” Adam said, and she realized he was looking at her.

“You read me?”

He smiled, “Duh. Your face was as troubled as mine when you came in and I’m nosey…I get it from my father.”

She chuckled, “Which one?”

Adam shrugged, “Take your pick.” Laughing they both fell in the comfort that only the other was able to provide.

Punching him lightly, she murmured, “Apart we’re strong…”

He placed his head on top of hers, “Together we’re unstoppable.”

“You wanna tell me why you freaked out seeing Adam?” Hades already knew the answer, but he still wanted to hear her say it.

She cut her eyes, “Why would you call me when he was there?”

“Because he wanted to see what you looked like. Because you badgered me to meet Kore and as such, I felt you should *meet* Adam.”

Looking away, Aphrodite fidgeted with something on her vanity. “It’s different okay…at least…at least you get to talk to her, stand next to her, get to know her. Seeing Adam was like seeing a familiar person and a complete stranger at the same time.” She shook her head, “I didn’t expect it to feel like that.”

“…I know,” he mumbled. A part of him wished that Kore was just like Persephone. He’d dealt with her death, he knew her life, she was familiar. Kore, on the other hand, was the complete opposite of Persephone in so many ways that she evoked a completely different feeling inside of him. She made him nervous, intrigued him, pissed him off, and made him crave more after just one kiss. He placed his hand to his forehead.

“I don’t know what I’m doing anymore Dite…it was much easier being underground, but I find that though I don’t want to, I like both parts of *team nightmare*.” She chuckled, and he felt better that he managed to make her laugh. Sitting in the chair, he eyed her. “You know… I’ve been thinking. Since I technically gave Thanatos a bit of my powers, it makes sense for me to train Kore…but since Zeus gave his to Romulus, and well-” He rolled his eyes. “That training would never happen. Maybe you could be the next best thing? I mean you’re love and light and all that shit I don’t get.”

She stared at him eyes wide. “But-you would have to-”

He nodded, “Unseal Hell to let you in. Yes. To do this means I not only trust you, but I put myself and them in danger.”

“Why would you do this?”

“Because you took care of me all these years. You were the only one who didn’t turn their back and because…that look you gave Adam today. I know that look.”

Aphrodite’s lip quivered, “This would mean I would be committing blatant treason.”

“Yes, and Zeus will make it his mission to kill you too. At least this way, you could get to know Adam as you wanted before well...you know…”

Sensing her hesitation, Hades placed one leg over the other “Look, take some time and think about it. I need to talk to Thanatos about it anyway. I would never make that type of decision without his insight. We have an agreement.”

Nodding, Aphrodite hung up with Hades, and soon felt a cold hand on her shoulder. “Good Girl,” Zeus murmured as he leaned in a kissed her neck, “Keep doing exactly what you’re doing. As soon as he tells you he’s unsealing Hell, you let me know.”

Aphrodite caressed the side of his face. “Of course,”

Whipping her around, he clashed his lips against hers, enjoying the way she felt in his arms. “You are so beautiful.”

She smiled, “Thank you.”

As Zeus left, Aphrodite pulled up the still image of Adam she’d managed to snag. Staring at it briefly, she waved her hand enraged, erasing it permanently.
