Chapter 17

“I never got to say this before, but this Clan is one of the most beautiful places in the world,” I said as we walked on the tarred road leading to the mansion. My smile beamed at the birds that flew from one tree to another. On the west is where basically the majority of Marr's wildlife exists. The east was for the beautiful rivers and valleys. The North and South were designated for the residential areas, and surprisingly, none of them were hostile to me. Instead, they were happy. Each of them engulfed in their preparation for a festival I knew not.

I had expected this clan to be full of blood thirsty and sadistic Vampires, but I was proven wrong.

“It's such a shame people fear this place and it's people so much." I commented in oblivion.

“Well, you can't blame them, When you have someone like Green as a ruler it's bound to happen." She smiled. "Every day here is beautiful and trust me, the nights are even more."

“I've been missing so much then!" I said with a chuckle alongside.

“Well, tomorrow is Marr's annual festival and maybe if you score a chance with Green, the both of you can attend the celebrations together. I highly recommend the lake side." I could pick the faint excitement blooming in her voice and I wouldn't deny it, I was a fan of that idea. But Green on the other hand, I bet she would rather lock me up in chains.

“Well, it's worth giving a trial." I heaved a light sigh. "You know, you should visit the human world too. It's quite beautiful,” I said as we entered the compound.

“Well Green and I visit occasionally." She smiled. "And yeah, they have quite beautiful places too,” she affirmed with her head nodding slowly.

“And guess what," she pursed her lips as we stopped by the gardens. I arched an eyebrow upwards.

“Green has a soft spot for humans,” she said in a whisper excitedly.

My eyes exclaimed.

“You serious?!" I chuckled.

“I know right." She chuckled. "For someone that most people fear here. In the human world, she's totally different. Joyful, free of worries, you know."

I smiled, taking a mental note of Green's dislikes and likes. This was definitely giving me a head start on tapping Green's soft spot quickly. I turned to her garden, large and filled with several assortments of flowers just like my mother's. How she would spend hours playing amongst them, running her fingers along their pretty petals. In oblivion, I started walking amidst them, smiling like one who was enchanted.

“Zeus you have to get out of there. Green doesn't like anybody in her garden." Martha's voice jolted me back to reality, but I smirked.

“I'm not just anybody. I'm her mate remember." I quoted before returning to a Rose, running my fingers like my mother used to.

“Zeus, we've already pissed her off this morning. This would send her to the extreme,” she persisted in a worried tone, but I remained adamant, eyeing around for the perfect Rose.

“Z—"

“And who gave you the permission to enter my garden?" I heard that familiar cold tone behind me. I could feel her strong Aura and I needed no soothsayer to tell me, I was in hot soup. I quickly handpicked a rose flower before turning to my mate with a smile. There she was with a fury burning in her eyes yet still looking extraordinarily beautiful. Although I could still feel it, her body hadn't recovered fully. Perhaps this was the mate bond work or my intuition. Either way, I couldn't withstand it.

“I'm sorry but I must really say, your garden is very beautiful, and I brought this for you." I muttered as I walked towards my mate with a rose in hand. If I had expected a smile, then I was wrong. Horror befell her countenance for a moment as if she recalled a memory.

“You dare to touch my flowers with that filthy hand of yours." She almost growled. Her glare was enough to melt my Rose, but I still stood like a fool, grinning.

She raised her left hand and a guard instantly trotted towards us.

“Burn it,” she ordered with her gaze still boring holes at me. "Burn it all."

“Green!"

“Quiet Martha. You don't have a say in this."

I frowned while the guard hesitated for a brief moment before nodding. I glanced at the large area again, a beautiful view of innocent flowers was going to be razed down by fire all because of her anger. I tucked the rose into my back pocket, my teeth grinding against each other as anger was gradually burning in me.

“If you dare to lay your hand on a single flower there, I promise, I'll burn you instantly." I avowed in an icy tone, my gaze still on Green.

The female guard stopped, glancing between us in fear. Struck in a limbo on whose orders to follow.

Green inched closer.

“And if you dare to cause a single scratch on my Vampires, I'll burn you." She growled.

I inched closer too.

“Then don't harm this free gift of nature because of your anger towards me."

She scoffed.

“Since when did you become nature's advocate?"

I chose silence.

“I'll pardon you this time,” she said on a relatively lighter note before walking into the building sharply. I glanced at Martha who heaved a sigh before chasing after my mate.

“Green!"

“Green!" I yelled as she continued to walk briskly on the hallway leading to her room.

“Green!" I yelled one final time as I stormed into her room.

“Did I ask you to enter?" She growled as she glared at me with jealousy and anger intertwined.

“You need me,” I said as I closed the twin doors behind me.

“Get out." She growled again.

“I'm not leaving."

Her eyes transformed into threatening green.

“Leave before I smack your head off that pathetic body of yours."

My eyes changed into a shade of sparking blue.

“You can't." I persisted and within a blink, she trotted towards me with her fist swung midair towards my neck. I quickly held her left hand with mine. We both struggled against each other, breathing hard and our eyes flashing against each other.

I wouldn't deny, I was using my all to hold her back and this wasn't her full strength. Her injuries were partially affecting her.

“Let go,” she ordered.

“Your injuries are still affecting you Green. Let me help,” I said.

Her eyes exclaimed and another growl protruded like my words had triggered the wrong button.

“I don't need help from a mere man! I'm not weak!"

She yelled, her struggles gradually overpowering mine. I quickly turned her towards me, so I embraced her back. While my hands kept hers at bay. My senses were easily overwhelmed by tidal rush of excitement and sparks. My body began to shudder from our closeness, but she struggled even harder.

“I'm your mate, Green,” I said to her right ear.

“And I know, you're not weak. You're the most powerful woman I've ever met. Beautiful, smart, and very dangerous. You've won battles I can never win, You're better than me, we both know that." Her body relatively calmed at my soft words.

“I don't care if you're using me or not but what I won't accept is you in pain." I paused. "It breaks me." I whispered and she stopped struggling finally.

“So please just let me help and then you can do whatever you want to me later."

She heaved a sigh.

“Unzip me."

I gulped down my saliva and without waste, I gently unzipped her red medieval dress, letting it fall to the ground leaving her matching bra and panties.

My Wolf and I almost leaped from excitement and lust, but I knew better, this wasn't the time for that.

“Entertain any lustful thoughts and I'll rip your eyes out,” she muttered as we stood barely inches away. I stared down her soft skin laced with several tiny injuries.

“You know, it's hard for me not to get a hard on." I teased.

“Let that tiny rod dare to poke my skin and I won't hesitate in breaking it into two.

“It's not tiny." I teased further, she turned to me with a faint blush gracing her cheeks. And then she went to her bed. I joined her too.

“Do you still have the ointment?"

She nodded and then pulled it out under her pillow.

I smiled.

“So, you kept it after all."

“Don't make me change my mind." She frowned. I laid her back on the bed while I rubbed bits of the ointment on my palms. And then I started from her left arm, running my palms gently and slowly. Her eyes gradually closed as her body relatively eased. The ointment I made was specifically made to soothe her, to make every touch relaxing for her and indeed it worked.

I gently moved my trail to her chest, where she almost gasped. I focused on her breasts, massaging them while I tried as hard for lust not to overcome me. Surprisingly, there was a tiny smile on her face, her eyes still closed.

“You're crossing the line Zeus,” she whispered. I smiled.

“There are tiny bruises there, milady," I said softly.

“We both know that's a lie."

“Should I stop?"

“Don't."

My palms slid down to her stomach while she shuddered, her smile still gracing her beautiful face.

“I know you know this, but you're beautiful, Green. Whether you're angry, jealous, or happy." I whispered.

“Flirting with me is not allowed Zeus."

“It's part of the ointment session. It helps speed the recovery even quicker." I bit my lips, enjoying the sweetness that came with her saying my name.

“By the way, I've never gotten jealous because of you."

I slid my palms to her left thigh and her body shuddered again. Her eyes opened this time, staring at me as I focused on her thigh.

“This morning, I could see it clearly and nothing you say is going to change that fact." I responded and surprisingly she was silent.

“Just don't have sex with my friend or anybody else,” she said after long minutes of silence. Our eyes bonded, both of us smiling like enchanted beings.

“You're scared you'll be too jealous?" I teased. She pulled me in a swift moment, so I was lying beside her, with barely an inch between us.

“I own you."

I blushed hearing those words.

“Now my back,” she said.

“There's no ointment left on my hand." I replied and her smile deepened.

“Just wrap those warm hands around me, I'm sure that's part of the ointment session?"

I wrapped my arms around her waist, slowly touring my fingers around her smooth skin.

Whether or not, she thinks this moment is fake or perhaps she's using me. I knew deep down that she enjoyed this moment just like I was.

“Yes." I whispered. "Yes, it is."
