Chapter 25

The sky began to gather into dark clouds, which began to completely overwhelm the sky at a slow pace. Fog had descended on the city since the morning, because beyond London, the northern and southern groups sorted out relations that, in fear for everyone, turned out to be deplorable.

The fog was not natural, it was the result of a huge explosion on the border with the north and south. A wasteland in which millions of mines were hidden, people with pistols around, whistles of bullets, fire - danger was everywhere. To date, this field could be safely called the 'Manor of death'.

North and South have gone too far.

And Williams Foster knew their problem.

The South moved into the territory of the North.

Thinking he could get a piece of their land.

Half of the people left this world forever, leaving their soul on a piece of cold land, which is located on the border.

James was driving his car, barely seeing the road. He also knew the cause of this fog. And the guy understood perfectly well that he should not poke his nose into other people's problems, so as not to dig a fresh grave for himself and all his people.

An interesting fact was that in addition to the exploding bodies, there was a serious explosion that lowered its smoke over the entire city. No one could even guess what it could be. North and South seemed to want to clear their tracks, to hide something, but what? This will forever remain a secret.

The young man opened the door to his room, dropping a heavy travel bag from his shoulder to the floor. James went into the bedroom, immediately swearing under his breath at the intruder, who was lying on the bed with his arms bent at the elbows under his head.

'Fuck, what are you doing here, Nathan?'

The brown-haired man smiled venomously, not moving from his place. His face was bruised from a recent fight. The view was not the best. The lower lip was split, and dried blood could be seen at the corner of the mouth. There was a red black eye under the eye, to which Foster grinned, knowing that someone had shaken the guy well.

'I heard they decided to lay eyes on your land.'

'I assure you, they left them there,' Nathan finally spoke, rising from a strange bed.

The guy put his hands on his knees, flashing his broken knuckles.

'Go wash up, Evans.'

'Thanks for your concern, cupcake,' Nathan laughed, but immediately coughed, instantly putting his hand to his mouth.

Foster furrowed his brows, noticing that the boy continued to cough into his hand, clutching at his stomach to stop the pain.

When the coughing fit passed, the brown-haired man removed his hand from his mouth, allowing James to see the scarlet blood on the pale skin.

'Fuck it,' Evans hissed, starting in a half-crouched position toward the bathroom.

Jay followed the boy's footsteps, opening the door to see Nathan standing over the sink, coughing up his own blood.

'Shut the fucking door on the other side,' the brown-haired man hissed, after which he began to cough again. 'If you want to laugh at me, then go to another room.'

The young man continued to speak without turning to face the blond man.

'I'll call my doctor,' Foster said with a stony expression.

He left his room, striding quickly towards the person who possesses medical knowledge. His heart still moved when the guy noticed that Nathan was really shitty. James was not a heartless man, as many used to see him. He just built such a wall between himself and other people, being safe, as he imagined.

A young man entered the room, completely oblivious to the presence of anyone else in this corridor.

'Nick!' The blond man called out to him. 'You must immediately call Marcus to my room with all his personal belongings.'

'What happened something?' The guy asked, raising one eyebrow in surprise, because Foster was healthy, so why did he need a doctor.

'Nathan needs help. Stop talking and go after Marcus.'

'Nathan Evans?' Miller exclaimed in disbelief. 'How is he… What is he even doing here?'

'Nick, fuck, he has an internal hemorrhage.'

'Kindly, as soon as possible, call the doctor to my room.'

'Okay, I'll do it, but after that you'll have to answer all my questions.'

Foster turned on his heels, heading back to where he came from. Very soon Marcus, along with Nick, arrived at James' private room. The doctor sat Nathan on a chair, forbidding him to talk, and also asked him to hold back his cough whenever possible. He brought the bottle of water to his lips, forcing him to drink it in several sips. Evans coughed loudly, letting the water out of his throat and spitting it with blood right into the small basin under his feet that Nick had brought before.

'You need to drink cold water in several sips. Try to do it. Can you now?' Marcus asked, waiting for the cough to pass.

Nathan nodded casually, filling his mouth with water to swallow. The new urge to cough prevented this, but the guy quickly covered his mouth with his hand, not allowing it to pour out. The brown-haired man still managed to drink water, coming to his senses after a while. The seizures went away, but only occasionally did Evans spit out some blood from his mouth.

'What exactly hurts you?'

'Here,' the boy pointed to his chest.

'Everything is clear,' the doctor said, rising from his knees, because all this time he was on them in front of Nathan. 'The hemorrhage was from the lungs. Now keep your ribcage protected, boy.'

Marcus nodded goodbye to Foster, leaving the room with Nick, as, in fact, he came here. James stood against the wall, leaning against it with his back, and his hands were locked in front of him.

The victim continued to sit on the bed, resting his elbows on his knees, and supporting his head with his hands. His breathing was heavy and his lips were open. The skin all over the body was pale from malaise.

'And why did you help me?' Nathan asked softly and carefully, not raising his eyes to the guy.

Foster was silent, creating an inexplicable silence around him, which was like a moment for reflection for everyone. The look of the brown-haired man ran around everything and stopped at different things, but not at James. He expected to hear the answer to his question, because the guy really did not understand why that person who hates you to some extent, suddenly decides to help, and not stand aside.

'We're not even on good terms with you no matter how we pretend,' Nathan said aloud, finally lifting his eyes to the blond. 'yes, we have known each other since childhood, but we have always competed with you, which I think is to this day. So why did you decide to help me?'

'Because I'm human, Ney.'

James didn't let his guest say anything else as he left the room. And it was always like this, only the guy opened up to someone, he immediately left, fearing that people would see him vulnerable.

There were several guys in the break room on the second floor, including Dean and Nick. The appearance of Foster in it made Miller rise from the sofa with a sigh on his lips, after which he mentally hit his forehead and sat back, closing his lips. Dean looked at his friend strangely, not understanding what it was.

The brown-haired man didn't want to talk about the new guest in front of the curly-haired guy, at least not now.

'What are we going to do today?' Nick asked, changing the subject from the embarrassing situation.

James sat on the edge of the couch as he announced the news: 'So guys, tonight we're going to have some sort of non-holiday dinner for some of you.'

'What the hell does that mean?'

Dean was indignant, thinking that the blond man again came up with something out of the ordinary.

Foster glanced at Miller, trying to convey to him by eye contact that he didn't know how to answer the guy's question.

'Don't worry,' the brown-haired man patted Dean's knee. 'I think it will be a kind of surprise, for everyone in particular.'

Meanwhile, Nathan was already roaming the corridors and rooms, entering each one that was open. He also wanted to find his curly-haired boyfriend with green eyes and an eternal smile on his lips, just to look at him from afar so that he would not notice him.

James understood that he needed to return to his room for Nathan, but he felt that he was no longer there. He told the guys that he would be back soon and got up from the sofa and left the room. Before he had time to leave, the brown-haired man appeared in front of him in his own person. Foster slammed the door in fear, and taking Evans by the hand, shoved him against the wall, quickly covering his mouth with his hand so that he could not say anything.

'Quiet,' the blond man growled, speaking in a whisper. 'Just try to squeak now, and I will kill you. We're going back to my room, do you understand me?'

Nathan nodded in approval and Jay released him from his grip. Evans held up both hands, grinning merrily.

'Good, good. We play by your rules,' he said, following Foster.
