Chapter 22 continuation

Mackenzie sat in the living room and listened to Rosie's story about Dean, who terribly screwed up in front of her yesterday due to the fact that he was terribly drunk, but after the brunette's face changed, remembering what she had not had time to tell her friend about.

'Are you okay?' The brown-haired woman was visibly worried, placing her small hand on the shoulder of the young lady, who at that moment was thinking whether to tell Hailey about the cases or not.

'Remember when I went missing for two weeks? You asked about me, but everyone said that I went home.'

Mackenzie nodded, furrowing her brows as she remembered the days when Rosie had vanished from this place without being noticed, leaving no trace or sound behind her. The girl tried to find out something about her new friend and her strange disappearance, but everyone, as they said at the same time, that she just went home to visit her loved ones. But Hailey knew the truth...

No one from the right corps leaves this place, none of the girls leave here, no one leaves this city.

'You took the pills that you asked me for a dangerous dose of headache, trying to kill yourself,' Hailey pursed her lips, feeling the moisture in her eyes, feeling the tears ready to flow rapidly down her cheeks. 'thereby setting me up.'

'What did he do to you?' The girl asked rudely, frowning even more and wiping the tears from her eyes with the back of her hand.

'Mr. Foster sent me to the left wing.'

Rosie's voice faltered at the end of the sentence, and the brunette swallowed heavily from the huge pain in her throat, trying not to cry.

'I am sorry, I am so sorry, baby,' Hailey whispered in confusion, wanting to hug the young lady, but before she could, Rose lay on the girl's lap, letting out a loud sob.

'They hurt me so much, they didn’t stop it for a second,' Rose whispered, being hysterical, sounds incomprehensible flying out of her mouth, and loud sobs drowned out her own voice.

Hailey soothingly stroked the brunette's back, afraid to even imagine what the girl in the left building had gone through.

'I screamed so loudly that my voice broke and just disappeared. My body was bleeding and the tears just stopped coming, I shed so many.'

The brown-haired woman thought of Foster at that moment, marveling at how terrible he was, sending the fragile girl to a clean death. But she did not know that he was too angry and confused, afraid of losing her... He was so blinded by revenge that he sent Rosie to the left corps. Mackenzie realized that James is good at hiding his inner demon, which has complete control over him.

The girl felt disgusted with this man, listening to her friend's story and analyzing it in her mind. This guy was good to her these days, but he was a two-faced man. Monster and prince in one body. Because his anger could come back to him again.

It was like a disease.

'I prayed that I would pass out, not to know where I was and not to feel this pain. When they finally took me out of there, I was half dead. You can't even imagine what it's like when you can't feel your own body because it's been beaten beyond belief. James came up to me then and said something, but I didn’t hear, I was like between heaven and earth, being somewhere in the middle,' Rosie calmed down, telling everything to the smallest detail, being more in her head than here next to Hailey. 'I don’t remember what happened after, I fucking finally lost my mind.'

The brown-haired woman with a red tint of hair started up, noticing some extraneous sound somewhere in the body, but finding that everything was calm, she again began to listen to her friend, continuing to stroke her along her black flowing hair.

'I woke up in some apartment, after it turned out that it was the house of one of the gang members. He was ordered to watch over me and treat me. They didn't want anyone to see me like this, especially you. I came back here with him when my body was in better shape, but the scars remained on my body, as well as the memories.'

The brunette lifted her T-shirt, showing her right side to her friend. In some places, he was in a hematoma, and a scar similar to a blow of a whip, which continued on his back, brightly fell into his eyes.

The brown-haired woman with a red tint of hair was horrified by the sight, gently running her finger over the damaged skin.

'Listen to me, Hailey,' the girl quickly lowered the fabric down, rising from her knees and assuming a sitting position. 'never, do you hear me?' Rosie looked into Mackenzie's eyes with a serious look, showing with her whole look that what she would say would be specific. 'Never piss off Mr. Foster, he is far from an angel, he is worse than the devil, this man is too dangerous. You saw what he did to me, he can do the same to you, if not worse.'

The doors suddenly opened, making a distinctive sound. Foster and Miller entered the living room, frightening the girls with their appearance. Hailey lost her speech when she saw how badly damaged they were. The guys were looking for something with their eyes, running their eyes from the sofa to the girls, from the chairs to the TV, and so on, completely exploring the room.

'Dean's not here,' James growled, about to close the door, but lingered on Hailey a little longer than necessary, noticing her shocked brown eyes.

The boys left the room, closing the door behind them.

'What the hell just happened?'

* * * *

The girl carefully without a sound crept up to the room door, quietly opening it and noticing James sitting at the desk, who was talking on the phone at the moment.

'I don't care, Dean, but you must return to the corps immediately. I need to have a very serious talk with you.'

The guy abruptly jumped up from his seat, turning his back to the doorway, which is why the brown-haired woman with a red tint of hair could not see the face of the person who was in the office during the conversation.

'Listen to me, boy,' the blond man growled, irritated by what he heard on the phone. 'I called you on business, not to listen to your stupid jokes. Four hours, damn it, you have four hours!'

In a fit of anger, the young man hung up the call and, turning around sharply, threw his mobile phone on the black leather sofa.

'Jesus, don't stand there,' James sighed wearily, running a hand back through his hair.

Mackenzie, frightened that she was discovered eavesdropping and peeping, was about to quickly leave this place, but as soon as the girl took a few steps to the side, Foster turned to her again: 'Visit me!'

With small steps, Hailey nevertheless returned back, considering her actions, because if she had disobeyed James, then everything would have been bad.

Quietly opening the door, the young lady entered the workroom, immediately beginning to excuse herself: 'I was just walking by, Mr. Foster. I did not do anything.'

The eyes of the brown-haired woman with a red tint of hair ran all over the face of the young guy, noticing how much he was damaged.

'It’s bad to lie, baby,' Jay raised his left eyebrow, making a cheeky expression. 'Oh, and I liked the way you called me. Mr. Foster sounds pretty hot from your lips.'

The blond man sat down on the couch, clapping his hand to the seat next to him for the girl to sit next to him as well. Hailey sat down on the padded seat without thinking, placing her hands on her knees. The young man next to him sighed wearily, throwing his head back and closing his eyes.

'What happened to you and Nick?' Mackenzie asked cautiously, looking at the boy's peaceful face.

'He won’t touch and offend you anymore, kitten,' James raised his head, touching his brown-eyed cheek with his palm, leaving a soft kiss on Hailey’s forehead, the guy pulled away. 'You are under my protection.'

The brown-haired woman unconsciously moved her face closer to Foster, casting her gaze to his lips. It was an inexplicable attraction that the young lady could not absorb in herself, no matter how hard she tried. James pulled her close to him, kissing her on the lips. Their lips moved in one dance, and the body was burning from a sudden rise in temperature. The male palms explored the brown-haired woman's body, lifting the T-shirt to find contact with the delicate skin. Hailey felt through the kiss as the guy roughly grabbed her leg, throwing her over him. Mackenzie took the hint and sat on the young man's lap, pulling his face closer to her cheeks and connecting her lips to his. A growl escaped the blond's throat as the girl grazed the bruised spot on his jaw with her fingers.

'Fuck,' the boy moaned, losing contact with his girl's lips.

'You need to treat your face and hands, James,' Hailey said firmly, peering into blue eyes darkened with desire with a serious look.

'I don’t care about that, just kiss me again,' Foster pulled Mackenzie closer to him, wanting to feel her lips on his again, and her hands on her body, but the brown-haired woman quickly put her hands on his chest, resisting.

'You fucking need to treat your wounds to keep bacteria out of them.'

'I think I told you for your dirty mouth,' the guy said, grinning.

'Where is your first aid kit?' Mackenzie ignored this remark, rising from the young man's knees and looking around for anything that might help the wounds.

'In my bedroom.'

'Bedroom?' The girl raised her eyebrows in surprise. 'But you said you don't live here.'

The guy hesitated, looking around the room in confusion: 'It's not for sleeping, well, for sleeping, but I don't sleep there and...'

'Stop it, James. I understood everything,' the brown-haired woman answered rudely, grieving in the depths of her soul.

Hailey just couldn't even imagine a blond man with some other girl around. She did not want to share his body with other people, but in her thoughts, how evilly, completely unwanted pictures of Mr. Foster in the bedroom with someone else's hands slipped on his soft hot skin. The sharp outline of his lips on soft skin froze in my mind, but it wasn't Hailey's body.

'I will go get the first aid kit,' the young lady said, heading for the door.

'You won't come into my bedroom, Hailey Mackenzie!' The guy barked, abruptly rising from the leather sofa and managing to grab the girl by the elbow, turning her face to him. 'Don't piss me off, baby. If I treat you well, this does not mean that you can spit on my prohibitions and behave like that with me.'

The brown-haired woman with a red tint of hair furrowed her brows as she felt a firm grip around her arm. Men's fingers pressed hard into the soft skin, causing pain.

'Let me go,' Hailey growled, wanting to leave this place as soon as possible, and most importantly, spare herself the presence of this young man.

'I want to warn you,' the guy leaned towards the young lady’s ear, lightly touching his lips with every word. 'don't play with fire.'
