Chapter 46

“Where’s mine?” Diego asked, batting his eyes at Rohan.

Percy chuckled. Rohan frowned at Diego before offering the other alpha another packet of food.

“Here, and please don’t do that again. You looked stupid and weird.”

“Ouch!” Diego exclaimed, sounding overly dramatic and theatrical. “You’re my boyfriend. You can’t speak like that to me. It’s cruel.”

Rohan scowled. “Don’t exaggerate.”

Diego placed the packet on the picnic blanket before clutching at his chest over his heart. “You hurt my feelings.”

Percy rolled his eyes. “Stop playing around.”

Diego sighed. “I’m trying to impress you both with my jokes, but I’m so underappreciated.”

Percy snorted. “Well, your jokes are horrible.”

“I agree,” Rohan added. “You need better material.”

Diego huffed. “Excuse me? You take that back! My jokes are hilarious. Everyone loves them.”

“Yeah? Do you include real people? Or is that everybody in your imagination?” Rohan shot back.

Percy guffawed. This was a side of Rohan he’d never seen before. He wondered if his and Diego’s sarcasm was rubbing off on Rohan. It didn’t matter, though. Percy was greatly entertained by it, and he snickered to himself as Rohan and Diego began to argue like two little boys. He scooped the pasta into his mouth and enjoyed the picnic while the breeze was blowing all around him. This date would be one of the most memorable he had ever been on, and he was certain he would remember it fondly for the rest of his life. 11

Rohan felt amusement bubbling deep inside him as he leaned against the tree and observed poor Percy struggling to get a good view of the sprawling city. Being six-foot tall, he had no trouble at all. However, Percy was six inches shorter, and the bushes that surrounded their picnic spot obstructed most of the omega’s view. He continued to watch Percy jumping up and down while folding his arms over his chest and doing his best not to snicker. He also discovered he was smiling quite a bit more than he used to. He was truly happy dating both Diego and Percy. They brought plenty of joy into his life.

“I c-can’t s-see a t-thing,” Percy complained as he continued to hop up and down.

Rohan took pity on him and lifted the startled omega onto his shoulders.

“Stop struggling and sit tight, babe. You don’t want to fall, do you?” Rohan admonished sternly. He was astonished when he realized he’d just let slip the term of endearment he’d up to that moment been keeping to himself.

Diego stared at Rohan, the surprise evident on his face. Then he laughed.

“Way to go, Ro! Does this mean I can call you babe, too?”

Rohan frowned, but he didn’t protest. “Whatever you like.”

Diego snickered. “Okay, babe.”

Rohan huffed at Diego while grabbing Percy’s waist to steady the omega, who’d stiffened and gone silent above him. “Are you okay, Perce?”

Percy was quiet for a few seconds, and Rohan thought the omega must be mad at him or something. Before he could apologize, Percy began to caress Rohan’s hair.

“You can call me ‘babe.’ I don’t mind.”

Rohan was delighted, and he couldn’t help but grin a little to himself. “Sure. So…uh, how are you liking the view?”

“Beautiful. Thank you,” Percy said softly.

Rohan nodded and tightened his grip on Percy’s legs. “You’re welcome, baby.”

Rohan was surprised when Diego moved in closer and slipped a muscular arm around his waist and held him gently. He glanced at the alpha, who was beaming at him.

“I’m feeling a bit left out, babe,” Diego explained. “I want to be close to both of my boyfriends, too.”

Rohan frowned despite his elation. “You can do whatever you like.”

“Oh, I definitely will.” Diego winked.

Rohan could feel the heat rushing up his neck and cheeks, and he quickly averted his gaze and pretended to be interested in the view of the city. Percy’s weight on his shoulders was comforting, but he was hyperaware of the warmth of Diego’s arm around his waist and the alpha’s eyes on him. He turned to face Diego and cocked his head in the direction of the brilliant, shining city lights before clearing his throat.

“You’re missing out on—”

“Nothing at all,” Diego cut Rohan off, his voice husky and raspy. Then he glanced up at Percy before locking eyes with Rohan once again. “I’m looking at the two most gorgeous sights in the world.”

Rohan gulped in embarrassment. “Right. Whatever you say.”

Diego chuckled, but didn’t otherwise respond. Instead, Rohan could feel Diego’s arms tightening around his waist. The three of them remained like that for the next several moments. Rohan wasn’t the expressive type, but deep inside, he hoped the three of them would be able to enjoy more sweet moments like this in the future. He scooted closer to Diego as discreetly as he could. Diego snickered softly, but he was thankful the alpha didn’t tease him. Instead, Diego simply kissed him on his cheek when he rested his right side against Diego. Rohan knew then and there his initial assessment of Diego being a great guy was accurate. Hope blossomed within him. The three of them might end up mating with one another someday soon.
