CHAPTER 51
CHAPTER 51
DALTON
I descend the airplane stairs as soon as they announce that we can do so. Without caring about anything, I head towards the airport once I leave the hospital. I just want to have my family back, I don't care how or what I have to do.
I don't pick up any luggage since I know Elsa is just tricking me so I can leave quickly. A scent catches my attention, a sweet vanilla aroma, but it's not like Blair's, it's softer, like a baby's scent.
It's just a fleeting whiff, but my sense of smell doesn't fail me. In that scent, I also detect Blair's perfect aroma.
I see a girl dressed as a flight attendant who catches my attention because of her pink hair color. I approach her while she chats with other women, I grab her shoulder and turn her around. Her friends look at me with astonishment.
"Where is she?" I ask.
"Who are you talking about, friend?" she says as she removes my hand from her shoulder.
"You know exactly who I'm talking about. We are the same," I say, getting straight to the point.
I don't have time for her stupid evasions. And I swear if she doesn't help me, I will lose my patience right now.
"I have no idea who you're talking about," she says convincingly.
"You've spent time with her, so tell me where she is. Don't make me lose my patience," I say, intimidating her.
And I succeed, she lowers her head and her body slumps a little. That's the wonderful thing about being an alpha, any pup from any pack knows they must show honor and respect no matter what. It's just that sometimes you have to exert a little pressure.
"I can't talk about her," she says with a trembling voice.
"Then take me to someone who can," I say firmly and grab her arm.
BLAIR
"Do I have to repeat it?" the man in front of me asks, his hands on his thighs and leaning forward.
I bite the inside of my cheek to contain the pain. Another blow lands directly on my cheek, but I only let out a small sound because I know that if I scream, Eros will wake up and they will know where he is.
"I think you're not understanding, Blair," this guy Dominic says, taking my chin and lifting my face towards him. "I will keep doing this until you tell me where my little nephew is," he says with a sinister smile that almost makes me cry when I think about what they can do to Eros.
"What the hell do you hope to achieve with this?" I ask, feeling what I suppose is blood running down the corner of my lips.
"I already told you," he says with a tired expression. "Dalton Black has ruined my life with everything he's done to me."
"And what's my fault in this?" I ask in a whisper.
"The truth?" he asks, raising an eyebrow. "You had nothing to do with it. The plan was for Elsa to be in your place now, but you had to find your mate and ruin everything for me," he says, shrugging with amusement, which scares me even more.
"What's your problem with Dalton?"
"I think there has been enough talk," he signals one of his men with his hand, and the man stands in front of me, raising his arm, and another blow lands on my right cheek.
DALTON
After renting a car and driving the damn woman to the address she gave me, we arrive at an old house. I get out of the car without turning it off and go to the woman's side, I open the door and grab her arm to pull her out.
Several guys come out of the house, each with a different attire, and almost all of them are wolves, but none of them is an alpha, so I don't have much trouble. The doors open again, and a guy with blond hair and a baby face comes out, carrying the same scent as the woman, but he carries it more strongly.
Jealousy takes hold of me, and as I'm about to advance, he raises his hand as a signal for me to stop.
"Before you do something stupid, who are you?" he says.
"Where is Blair?" I say brusquely.
"I suppose you're the mate," he says, looking me up and down.
"I asked you where she is," I say, getting angrier and squeezing the arm of the girl with pink hair.
"I have no idea who you're talking about," he says convincingly.
"Gavrel, please, tell him," the girl intervenes.
"Why?" he asks, glancing at me.
"Because he's an alpha claiming his mate, and you have no right to hide her from him. Besides, I have a feeling he's here for something very important," she says, trying to minimize my grip on her arm.
"More important than his family?" he says with a contemptuous attitude.
"Yes, something like saving his family," she says, looking at me with fear.
"How do you know?" I ask, giving him a glare and a growl for his damn interest in them.
"It doesn't matter. If you think they're in danger, we'll do what you tell us."
"Are they in danger?" I ask alarmed, giving him a glare and a growl for his damn interest in them.
"I'll take you to them."
BLAIR
I'm almost certain that my right cheekbone is broken. I taste the distinct flavor of blood on my lips from the wounds on my face. I'm covered in bruises. Despite the burning sensation in my throat, yearning to release agonizing screams, I won't give up. My puppy is asleep upstairs, and I won't make it easy for them to find him. I am determined to fight, even if it means dying here.
Blood was trickling from the corner of my lips, and my whole body ached. I could still feel the heat of the blows on my body, but there was nothing I could do. The pain inside me was worse than the external wounds.
The blows kept coming relentlessly, like a damn cycle they had invented: face, stomach, and when I doubled over in pain, the blow was on my back. Just a while ago, the guys found it amusing to play with some silver.
Silver affected werewolves like acid on human skin. They inserted small silver blades into my skin. My lips were torn apart from biting them to suppress my screams. It was a burning sensation, like when you burn yourself with cooking oil, except this not only burned the top layer of skin, but it entered the veins, mixing with your blood.
And yet, I could only keep thinking about the three things I would always be sure of. And those were: first, I would love Eros for the rest of my days; second, I would love Dalton Black even in death; and third, I would always give everything for my family.
I heard a faint whimper, a barely audible sound, like muffled crying. I straightened my back abruptly upon hearing it and carefully observed the guys, but none of them showed any sign of hearing anything.
Dominic's face tilted to the side, and a smile formed on his face. No, no, no, no, not my little one.
"I think someone wants to join us," he began walking towards the stairs.
"No!" I quickly turned, resting my cheek against the floor. I exerted all my strength to break free from the ropes. I stood up as if doing a push-up, kicked the chair and smashed it against the wall.
I stood up, and one of the idiots approached. I raised my leg and kicked him right in the jaw. He staggered back a bit from the blow, but it gave me enough time to see a small silver blade stuck in my thigh. I pulled it out of my body without caring about the pain and lunged at him, stabbing him in the jugular with the blade. His blood splattered my neck as it gushed out, but it didn't matter, nor did the burning sensation throughout my body.
The important thing was to protect my puppy. No one would harm him.
The guy fell to the ground, and the other one ran upstairs, following Dominic. I ran up the stairs and pounced on his back when I got close enough. The guy lost his balance, and we fell over the edge of the staircase, breaking it in the process. We landed in the room, and the impact weighed on my back as his weight fell on me. Pieces of wood were falling everywhere. I pushed the individual and stood up so fast that I didn't even feel any pain.
I kicked him in the ribs. He flinched and tried to cover himself. When I attempted to hit him again with my foot, he moved his arm from underneath, hitting my ankles and causing me to fall to the ground. I leaned on one knee and tried to get up again, but I received a blow to the face that made me roll onto my side. He turned me over and straddled me.
He put his hands around my neck and started squeezing. The air gradually vanished from my throat until I couldn't breathe anymore. I felt pressure on my face as if all the blood was congesting in that part of me. My hands tried to remove his until I dug my nails in and scratched his flesh from his shoulders to his forearm.
Blood the color of wine gushed out of his wounds as he let out a scream of pain and fell to the side. I pushed him away and tried to regain the lost air. I stood up as best as I could and tried to run towards the stairs.
I climbed the stairs as fast as I could, reached the top, and Dominic was trying to enter Eros' room. I climbed onto his back and sank my teeth into his shoulder. He grabbed my hair and threw me forward, completely passing his body.
