Chapter 21 Replacing You

Chapter 21 Replacing You
Rafe’s POV

Shawn’s mouth opened to speak, some weak explanation already forming inside his head.

“I—“

“Sorry for interrupting your romantic moment,” I cut him off before he could finish, my voice cold and final. “I’ll just leave you two to it then…carry on.”

Before he could utter another word, I turned and walked out of the door, slamming it shut behind me so hard the frame shook, the sound echoing down the hallway like a gunshot.

The second I was far from the dorm room, a raw scream ripped out of my throat before I could stop it.

“Fuckkkkk!!!”

It tore through the empty corridor, loud and broken as jealousy slammed into me like a brutal punch across the face. No matter how hard I tried to forget what I just saw there, I couldn’t.

If anything, the images began rushing forward even more. Shawn’s hips snap forward, thrusting into Avery deeper, her head thrown back with those loud, shameless moans spilling from her lips.

Stop thinking about it, Rafe!

Stop thinking about it!

The image burned behind my eyes, making my stomach churn with both jealousy and disgust.

Why the fuck should I even be jealous in the first place?

I shoved the feeling down hard immediately, forcing it into the darkest corner of my mind. It was nothing more than a one-time, stupid angry fuck against the wall. That’s all.

He’s not yours.

You told him to stay the fuck away from you.

Seeing him balls-deep in his girlfriend is nothing.

You shouldn’t feel shit about any of this!

Without hesitation, I stormed out of the building and headed downtown, the cool night breeze slapping against my skin as I stepped outside. I needed alcohol…anything that would drown out the memory of Shawn fucking his little girlfriend in our dorm room.

The gay club on 7th Street pulsed with neon and heavy bass before I even reached the door. The second I stepped inside, the scent of cheap, and expensive cologne mixed with the sharp tang of spilled liquor filled my nostrils.

Bodies moved graciously on the dance floor under flashing lights, lost in the music and each other. I pushed through the crowd and dropped onto a stool at the bar.

“Six shots of tequila,” I told the bartender the second I was seated, my voice coming out rough. “Line them up.”

He immediately began to pour them without question. I gulped the first one down, the burn sliding down my throat like punishment. Then the second. The third. By the fourth, the entire room started to appear blurry in my eyes, but the images in my head refused to fade.

For fucks sake, he could still be thrusting deeper into her right now. Even far away, I could almost hear her moaning his name, Shawn’s face already twisted with that mix of anger and pleasure I knew too well.

It was driving me insane.

“I need more!” I ordered another round, gulping each glass down harder than the last. But it just made everything much worse, because the more I swallowed the alcohol, the more the image of Avery’s legs tightening around Shawn as she took every inch couldn’t leave my stupid head.

I was on my seventh shot when I felt eyes burning into the side of my face, and that is when my gaze locked onto a figure sitting at the far end of the room.

The guy had been staring at me for a while now. Dark hair, sharp jaw, tattoos drawn up all the way to one muscled arm under a tight black shirt.

Damn!

He’s hot!

Our eyes locked instantly across the crowded bar, and the second it did, heat crackled between us, instant and undeniable. A slow, knowing smile tugged at the corner of his lips, then he tilted his head toward the back hallway.

A second later he stood up from his stool and began to walk away, his hips rolling with deliberate invitation.

The message was crystal clear.

He wanted us to fuck.

Without thinking twice about it, I gulped down the last shot, slamming the glass on the bar and following right after.

If Shawn can fuck someone else, then so the fuck can I.

The bathroom door swung shut behind me with a heavy click. The moment I was finally inside, the guy turned, his lips already parting to say something — probably some half-assed pickup line.

I didn’t give him the chance.

I moved fast, pushing him hard against the wall. Before he could try to react, my lips crashed into his, hungry and desperate, the taste of whiskey and mint from his tongue flooding mine instantly.

His hands flew to my shoulders, gripping hard as he kissed me back just as fiercely. No softness or passion in it. I forced a thigh between his legs, grinding against the already hard, thick length of him bulging out in his jeans.

He groaned into my mouth, his hips also grinding forward to meet the pleasure, but I didn't give him any chance to recover. My fingers tangled in his dark hair, yanking his head back so I could bite down hard against his neck.

“Fuck…” he hissed inside my mouth, a quiet, teasing laughter ripping out of him, “You don’t waste time.” He muttered.

I didn’t answer with words, instead, I deepened the kiss, our tongues sliding in and out of each other’s mouths. The next thing I felt was the feel of his hands as he palmed my cock through my jeans, stroking roughly, forcing a shameful moan out of me already.

The bathroom smelled like cheap cleaner and sex already, the thought that someone could walk in any second rushed through my brain instantly.

Whatever!

I don’t give a fuck

Let them see.

Let the whole damn world know I didn’t need Shawn Calder or whatever the fuck he meant to me.

The guy bit down on my bottom lip, his chest rising and falling heavily from the adrenaline. “You’re gonna tell me your name, or—“

“Shut up,” I growled, shoving my hand down the front of his pants to wrap around his thick, leaking cock. A shameless moan tears out of him immediately, his head falling back against the tiles.

I stroked him faster now, twisting at the head the way I knew it felt good. Every sound that escaped his lips fed the fire in my gut, but underneath it all, Shawn’s face kept flashing in my head.

Get him out of your head, Rafe!

I pulled back just enough to look the stranger in the eyes, my lips brushing his with every word.

“Fuck me,” I whispered roughly into his mouth. “Right now.”
