Chapter 186

I arched, scraping my nail against the wall.

I tried not to divert our gazes, showing that I wasn’t going to give in for anything. However, Dante wasn’t concerned with that battle. His focus shifted to my ear, nibbling on it in a way that made me moan slightly in pain. He moved down to my neck, sucking on it and clearly leaving a mark.

I bit my lip, trying to hide how my nipples were hardened, an unimaginable thirst making my panties damp. My pussy throbbed. It wanted. It felt.

God.

I hated him.

And when his hand reached between my legs, my mouth trembled, releasing a deep moan.

I could hear a hungry smile growing on his lips.

"Now repeat what you said."

His mouth brushed against mine slowly, stealing all the air I had left. My moans were swallowed by him with every pass of his hand that wished to be inside me.

"Say it again. Tell me what you feel. Do you hate me?" he whispered. "Say it while you’re moaning for me, darling."

I couldn’t.

Nothing but a pleasurable pain filled my body.

I couldn’t want him.

I couldn’t let him have me.

But, one more minute, and I would give in.

"I’ve told you: don’t lie to me. You can’t," he murmured, returning to stare at my mouth.

It was still slightly open, begging for air. Begging for a drop of him. But I wouldn’t say it. I would never speak of how I always wanted a piece of Dante for myself. How I desired him in abyssal scales.

Faulkner seemed to be lost in the same confrontation. Staring at my mouth, not sure whether he would close it. Whether he would take it for himself.

"I’m still going to eat you alive, Emília."

His eyes never left my mouth.

"Go ahead."

The answer awakened him.

We both stared at each other long enough for galaxies to be born and explode.

However, the sound of the door upstairs opening prevented any atrocity from happening.

Dante freed me, the anger that never left his face now had more force.

I tried to straighten myself. I was a mess. A complete disaster, even though we hadn’t really done anything.

Asher came down with Jaxon and Cole. Once again, no sign of Vance.

"Who would’ve thought..." Asher said, being the pathetic bastard.

"Shut up, Hawthorn," Dante growled.

"I didn’t say anything." Asher descended the last step. "I was just going to ask about the weapon, but I get it now."

"What weapon?" Cole innocently asked.

"The one between Dante’s legs. It’s a third leg."

Emília, you’ve made a machine gun grow on him.

Jaxon was the only one tempted to laugh.

Red would be an understatement for how my cheeks turned.

A shot echoed, and the fright I took was spontaneous.

"Don’t you dare, Asher," Dante threatened.

Asher laughed and raised his arms, walking triumphantly down the hallway.

"I’d rather pretend I didn’t hear about Dante’s cock," Cole announced.

Asher smiled.

"Like we’ve never seen it. I taught you how to measure when you were younger."

Oh.

Another shot and a loud laugh from Hawthorn.

"Don’t remind me of that shit," Jaxon said, embarrassed. "I have nightmares about Vance’s. He didn’t know what a pair of scissors was."

"Oh, my God. I don’t want to hear this," I declared.

"Oh, Emília. Come on," Asher laughed. "As if you don’t know anything about this area. As Protagoras said, man is the measure of all things."

Dante hated hearing that comment. I could see his face sour.

"Finally, you got the quote right," Jaxon congratulated.

"I always say the right thing. You guys don’t know," Asher teased.

God. What was I doing?

Dante wasn’t in the mood. He stormed into the kitchen, taking all his anger with him.

Shit, I also wanted a glass of water.

Rachel came running, along with Vance. The bitch went to Van Doren, who picked her up.

"She loves me so much," he commented, receiving licks from the animal.

"No way!" Asher gritted. "Rachel told me I’m the love of her life."

"Stop being so conceited!" Fish said, as I entered the kitchen.

"Realist. It’s a more fitting synonym. Isn’t that right, Rachel? Tell them how special I am," he whispered near her, but Cole pushed her away.

"Get away. It’s my turn to take care of her."

"No way. Yesterday was your day to bathe her. You didn’t want to."

"Today it’s me," Jaxon contradicted.

I couldn’t believe they were arguing over that damn dog.

Where was I?

"Hmm. Rachel, what’s wrong?" Dante, beside me, was also grabbing a cup, and the dog seemed to be trying to climb his leg. He crouched, getting down to her level, and she raised her paws, tapping him lightly. "You want to play?"

"I can’t believe she’s cheating on me with the captain," Jaxon said, disheartened.

"Between you and him, I’d prefer celibacy," Cole mocked.

I watched as Faulkner petted her and asked for a ball from Vance, who had sat at the table with a knife and the cake.

"Did you make this, Dante?" Van seemed to ask the friend.

Dante shrugged.

"Asher asked."

"Man, you love me," Hawthorn stood up to grab a slice, just like everyone else.

I still remembered how Faulkner had made sure to prepare one for my birthday four years ago. How romantic it had been, in his own way.

It was a nostalgic pain I couldn’t help but suffer for.

"Is everything okay, Gray?" Jaxon asked, as he got closer.

"After what happened, I didn’t have time to talk to you."

"It’s fine. I’m good," I announced.

"You’ll never be okay here. No need to lie."

He was right.

I was going to end up killing myself in that house, especially with the chaos those five were.
