Family enemies

Said the coyote with a smirk on his lips .

"You are unbearable you knew that . I think I have too many situations to think about at the moment so I will also be absent for a couple of hours."

I turned to leave the office as everyone else had done , the atmosphere was too tense to get information about the reasons why my father was coming out in the visions , so I knew I wouldn't have an immediate answer , unless I talked more in depth with Stefano about the matter .

"Wait Christian , I don't want you to be absent too far from the mansion . I hope you are not thinking of going to seek revenge by your own means without support ."

Grandpa's voice stopped me for a moment and forced me to turn around and go back a couple of steps to where he was .

"Calm down grandfather , I know I can't alone . I also don't intend to cause you any more trouble than we already have so you can rest easy . I'll come back for you when the atmosphere is calmer ."

Grandpa nodded his head , while the coyote rolled his eyes and Sasha avoid looking me in the face for some reason unknown to me .

I turned to leave the office in search of my own answers for sure, I certainly needed support. I needed someone who could be my shield if something went wrong, I couldn't bear the uncertainty of my father being used as tripe without me being able to do anything about it.

I looked towards the exit hallway , and saw that Carmina was in one of the gardens lying next to her wolf .

"Maybe Carmina wants to help me "

I pondered inwardly for a moment .

"Never . I must be going crazy , I can't trust someone so temperamental she could kill me in a fit of rage if she felt like it "

I muttered to myself , while looking at her from afar .

It was a beautiful sunny day , something that gave a better view of the gardens of the mansion .

There was a stream that was the source of sustenance for the plants , flowing in a continuous overflowing river that gave way to an imminent freshness throughout the place . The fresh breeze coming from the long branches of the trees gave off a spring scent that not all animals in any garden could afford the privilege of inhaling , the air was cleaner than in other wooded areas far from the mansion and all because of the large streams of water that surrounded the area and the warm sun that was more withdrawn from the water that spring .

Carmina was lying in a deep at one side of the forest , I guessed it was a wolf thing to sleep in full sunlight and in an area full of plants in the open . Her wolf was a couple of meters away from her , in the inhospitable depths of a sleepy state that apparently only animals like him could have . I thought for several minutes about the advantages that sleep could give to a creature like them , advantages that I had lost forever because of my condition .

I don't know why at that moment I found it so fascinating to watch them sleep from afar, I guess I was deeply touched by nostalgia, having lost the privilege of being able to turn off my brain for several hours so that it could rest from all the anguish was something I certainly envied.

My mind suddenly traveled to the faces of the people I had seen sleeping throughout my life, I remembered how relaxed they looked, and the happiness they often reflected after having taken a nap, or having slept through the night. Having the power to not think about anything for more than five hours a day if you wish and at the same time to rest deeply was really a privilege that the human race had, and that they did not value at all.

I was surprised to see that apart from humans some immortal creatures could enjoy such privileges, wolves or half wolves were one of them. I felt a deep envy of them and the others who could enjoy some human sensations, and not only appear to be human on the outside only.

I sighed and prepared to finish leaving the mansion , when I felt someone praise me by the arm .

"What do you intend to do ?"

Coyote asked me with an accusing look .

" What do you mean ?"

I answered in a calm manner , disguising what I had already decided in my heart to do .

"Do you think I'm stupid ? , I know exactly what you plan to do "

He tightened his grip on my arm , as I tried to wriggle free .

"I'm going to do what I have to do , I need to fight for my family . I will no longer tolerate standing idly by . While everyone is fighting , my father is in danger understand ."

I said aloud to him , looking for a trace of understanding in his actions .But still he was still with a cloudy look in his eyes that turned fire color .

"Understand that you can't stop me from going after my father , you saw the sketch . If I don't go now things will get worse , it will be too late for me to save him ."

He looked at me carefully made a gesture to say something, but then sighed deeply and released me.

"Thank you for understanding , I hope you keep it a secret" .

I told him as I started to walk away from the door of the mansion .

"You know you can't do this alone , you'll be lost if Araticus catches you . Not only will you lose your father , you could also lose your life and put us all at risk "

He told me persuasively , as he turned to enter the mansion .

"I'm aware of that , I know I'm risking everything . But you know Stefano's visions do not fail , I would not tolerate seeing my father turned into a monster ."

I told him as I watched him turn to look at me one last time before entering the mansion .

I assumed he would keep the secret , but I also knew that if I wanted to break the rules of going alone to rescue my father , I had to take the consequences of my actions .

"Today is the day of family quarrels , first your grandfather and his wife and now you and your uncle . After all I'm not the only troublemaker ."

Camina commented , approaching towards me sketching a smile loaded with irony .

"You could stop meddling in my business , you can go back to your nap , there is nothing here to involve you "

"Are you sure?" he replied blocking my way to the gardens , with his wolf .

"What do you want now? I'm not in the mood for your absurd conversations."

Frowning , I tried to dodge the wolf to continue my way but it was not possible .

"I saw you while you were spying on me from afar .what were you planning to do to me ? were you going to attack me while I was sleeping ?"

He asked me , while I could feel the breath of his wolf on the back of my neck .

"I would never attack any creature from behind ."

" Then why were you watching me ? I have awakened some feeling found inside of you".

"Don't be ridiculous " . I spat , trying to make my way to the exit once again , using my strength .
