"Honey there is no need to have a discussion over this now . It is a delicate matter that requires meditation for a while , it is not something to be taken lightly and I will support my grandson in the process ."

Said Grandpa calming the tense atmosphere that had been generated between Sasha and me .

"But I also support my wife's stance , I mean we have lost our soul , but some of us still have compassion for the human race , in the end we were human one day . You don't know what I would give to go back and feel like a human again . But the fact that I am no longer just at all does not mean that I am a heartless predator , enough effort we make daily to control our thirst and opt for an animal diet , respecting the natural laws "

I sighed deeply when I heard the words of grandfather , and I averted my gaze to my mother with a strong nostalgia .

" I'm sorry , I did not mean to offend you , sorry to touch that subject of the soul . Apparently it is something very sensitive for our race , I did not mean to say that you are a monster ."

I mumble turning my gaze back to Sasha , who was snuggling on Grandpa's shoulder .

I nodded my head , taking Sasha's words in the best way . Grandpa's eyes sparkled , and I hoped in my heart that his words would soothe some of the wounds that were still bleeding inside me .

"You don't have to apologize , none of this is your responsibility . I'm the one who carries a lifetime of immortal trials and errors . So have no fear I will be here to make this decision for the family together , plus we will devise an effective plan to rescue your father soon ."

Grandpa commented encouragingly , approaching towards me with a tight hug . Giving me a few pats on the back .

"Hall family leaning together forever " Said Sasha while smiling delicately .

"Sorry to interrupt the family hug but I think we should go up to the dining room right now before Carmina gets suspicious of your absences and discovers the existence of Christian's mother ."

The coyote's unwelcome head peeked into the basement and told us it was time to return to reality and deal with the threat I had brought to the mansion .

When we went up to the dining room the table was perfectly set , Sasha , coyote , grandfather and I looked up to the front and beheld a silver table with crystal chairs surrounding it , the table was a medium rectangular shape at about six meters long and four meters wide .

"What is this, what happened to the main dining room table? "

Asked in an annoyed way the grandfather seeing the radical changes in the dining room .

"I hope you don't mind that I decided to organize a special dinner in my honor, since you didn't invite me to stay, I invited myself to stay.

Carmina answered with a smile and a confident look.

Grandpa looked at the coyote fixedly and he returned a calm look , seeking to appease his annoyance for such recklessness in the mansion .

"I apologize for our lack of etiquette , I think we have long since ceased to be good hosts , and we have forgotten how important it is to attend to guests of such high standing as yourself ."

Grandfather said courteously , striving to convey a genuine smile on his lips .

"I am flattered by your words Mr. Hall , I must congratulate you have an excellent service team . Your impeccable dedication and effort made everything look splendid . I almost feel like royalty in this wonderful palace ."

Carmina sat at the head of the table with great elegance and sophistication , while grandfather , Sasha the coyote and I were still standing amazed by all that this woman had done , she really was a bold creature and knew how to make others uncomfortable just by using diplomacy . The good news was that she had refrained from using her powers and that my mother was far from her reach .

On top of the table were a large number of flat plates, they were delicately placed on the table and their rectangular shape matched the table, there was no silverware of any kind and no one made mention of those minor details. A large centerpiece of fresh fruit was the visual fascination of that luxurious dining room that covered a large amount of space in that central area of the castle.

The brightness and freshness of the fruits was extremely striking and appealing to the eye, among the fruits that could be seen were peaches, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, kiwis among others, there was an abundance of small circular fruits, to be eaten as an appetizer during dinner. Showy fresh olive branches adorned the fruit bouquet, and warm floating candles illuminated the table set in thin straight lines two by two.

"I know you don't eat, but I took the audacity to place wild food on the table, not only because of the beautiful decoration you make but because fortunately I can enjoy them given my wolf condition. I have the joy of indulging in both food niches."

No one commented on the fruit or the decor. We motioned to sit down in a somewhat random order at the table.

"No, you can't sit down yet" Carmina said, leaving us all motionless with shock.

We all looked at each other , waiting for the reason why we couldn't sit down expectantly .

"I would like if it's not too much trouble for everyone to change clothes and put on something more special to make this evening truly authentic . I'm going to change my clothes too, if you don't mind my daring ."

"What do you want Carmina , it's not enough for you to have come all this way to bother ."

"We'll do it right away , I quickly replied in the face of the hurricane of fury that the coyote's words were about to provoke."

Carmina's sarcastic smile glowed with satisfaction , and her eyes were tearing from side to side accompanying her expression of happiness as she watched us all obey her orders , for fear that she would use her extraordinary abilities against us .
