Chapter 173 Revenge Behind the Steering Wheel
Chapter 173 Revenge Behind the Steering Wheel
However, suddenly Tomi appeared with a panicked and anxious expression. He was panting as if he had just run very far.
“Wait! Wait!” Tomi shouted while holding his knees before approaching Kenn.
“Kenn, the person who hit Frel’s grandma and grandpa has been caught by the police,” Tomi whispered in Kenn’s ear.
“Be quiet. Not now!” Kenn’s eyes shot sharply at Tomi and his jaw hardened. “Go, Tomi. We’ll talk about this at home later!” Kenn ordered in a low voice.
Unfortunately, I had heard Tomi’s words very clearly.
“Go on, Tomi!” I knew Tomi would not easily obey me. He would keep his mouth tightly shut if the news he brought had the potential to hurt me. “I’ll be fine. I promise.”
I looked at Tomi with a pleading gaze. “Who is the culprit? Tell me, Tomi! I beg you.”
Tomi looked at Kenn for approval, then looked back at me with a worried face.
“It’s,” he stopped. He seemed hesitant and let out a heavy breath before continuing. “Frel, forgive me if this hurts.”
“Tomi, please tell me the truth!” I urged again.
“It was Farah.”
I slumped weakly in the hospital corridor after hearing Tomi’s confession.
“So ... it wasn’t just an ordinary accident? Farah did it on purpose?” I asked in a voice that was almost gone.
“Yes, Frel. She had planned it,” Tomi replied with his head lowered.
Kenn knelt down and embraced me. “Calm down, Frel. I’m here,” Kenn whispered in a heavy voice. “Remember, take care of your condition.”
“How can I be calm, Kenn? Grandpa and Grandma became victims just because she hates me!” I sobbed, then glared sharply at Tomi. “Tomi, tell me, where is Farah now? I want to look into her eyes and ask what my grandparents ever did wrong!”
Tomi let out a long sigh, glanced at Kenn for a moment before answering. “She’s already in custody, Frel. Farah’s vehicle license plate number was caught on a surveillance camera at one of the shops near the scene.”
“Why is she so cruel, Kenn? Why did they have to be the victims?” My tears burst out in Kenn’s embrace.
“I swear I’ll make her pay for all of this, Frel. She will never escape the law,” Kenn said firmly, his jaw tightening.
A few moments before the tragedy happened....
That afternoon, Frel ran out of the house, ignoring the pain in her heart after seeing the savings book and a secret she had just heard from her grandfather and grandmother.
“Frel, wait! Don’t go, Dear!” her grandmother cried out, her voice breaking with tears.
“Leave me alone!” Frel shouted without turning back at all. “Don’t look for me, because I don’t want to see anyone who has kept this secret from me!”
“Frel, at least listen to Grandpa’s explanation one more time!” Her grandfather tried to chase after her to the front door, his voice sounding heavy and breathless.
“There’s nothing left to explain!” she replied hoarsely. “You said you loved me, but you let that money come into this house. You let her feel like she had fulfilled her duty as a mother!”
The beautiful girl kept running. She ignored her grandparents’ shouts as they called her name over and over again. Instead, her legs moved even faster, cutting through the suffocating air.
“Why did they have to accept money from that woman? I don’t need her pity!” Frel screamed in her heart.
To her, the woman who had abandoned her on the doorstep of strangers’ house when she was a baby had no right at all to interfere in her future.
Even though her grandparents had never touched that money even a single cent and had kept it for her future college expenses, in Frel’s eyes, which were burning with anger, that kindness looked like a big lie.
In the distance, two elderly figures staggered as they ran after their granddaughter. Their faces were pale with panic as they saw Frel running toward the main road.
“Frel, stop, Dear! Don’t run into the middle of the road, it’s dangerous!” Grandpa shouted in a hoarse voice.
“Listen to our explanation first, Frel!” Grandma called out while trying to regulate her breath, which was beginning to run out.
Without them realizing it, a pair of eyes watched from behind the steering wheel of a car parked in the darkness at the corner of the street. Farah gripped the steering wheel until her knuckles turned white. Her anger burned far more fiercely than Frel’s disappointment. To Farah, Frel was the source of all her destruction. Because of that girl, Kenn had expelled her from school, and because of that girl as well, she had lost her chance to have Kevan.
“That poor girl really has no shame,” Farah hissed venomously.
She stared at Frel’s figure, whom she considered short and unattractive, yet so lucky to be loved by the two most popular boys. That jealousy had now turned her into someone obsessed with revenge.
“You don’t deserve their love, Frel. You only deserve to suffer!”
When Farah saw Frel’s grandfather and grandmother starting to step into the road to chase after their granddaughter, a cruel plan appeared in her mind.
“You think you can be happy after destroying my life? I won’t let you!”
Farah saw that Frel had disappeared from sight. She was not targeting Frel directly. She wanted to inflict a deeper wound. She wanted the girl to live in the shadow of guilt for having caused an accident to the people who loved her the most. They didn’t need to die, but she hoped they would be disabled for life so that Frel’s suffering would never end.
“I’ll make you regret being born into this world, Frel,” Farah muttered with a sinister smile.
Farah stepped on the gas pedal with full force. The car engine roared loudly, tearing through the road like a bloodthirsty monster. The car sped forward at a terrifying speed.
“Come on, run faster, old man!” Farah shouted with hysterical laughter stuck in her throat.
Farah did not brake at all when the distance was only a few meters away. She deliberately aimed the front of the vehicle straight at the two figures who were running after their granddaughter, who was inside a bus that was already moving fast.
“Feel this, Frel! Enjoy your destruction!” Farah screamed hysterically inside the car.
CRASH!
The collision happened so fast. The grandfather’s and grandmother’s bodies were thrown, slamming into the windshield before falling sprawled on the asphalt. Blood began to seep out, mixed with the remnants of tears shed for their granddaughter.
Farah stopped her car a few meters from the scene. She lowered the window slightly, staring at the two elderly people who were lying motionless, covered in blood.
Suddenly, fear attacked her. She worried that they might have died on the spot. But when she remembered her grudge against Frel, that expression changed into a cold look of victory.
“Now, enjoy the rest of your life in regret, Frel,” Farah whispered with satisfaction before finally speeding away and leaving the scene without the slightest sense of guilt.
