Chapter 152

Chapter 152
Rishima frowned slightly. In truth, she still wasn’t sure whether she was truly Rishima. But now, Roberto had confirmed it outright.
So she really was the mate of the male she met in the park, and the mother of three babies?
Rishima had wanted to continue persuading Roberto to face reality, that he was only using her as a stand-in for Jenna. But suddenly, he stood up and shouted, "Bring the medicine for Jenna to take!"
That medicine would erase Rishima’s memories of the past, though it wouldn’t affect her current memories. Still, Roberto wanted to try. He wanted her to lose her memories once again.
Hearing that, Rishima shook her head in fear and said, "I already took the medicine. I’m not taking it again."
Roberto spun around and glared at her viciously before opening his mouth, "Who gave you permission not to take it? Rishima, let me tell you! You must become my mate. If Jenna hadn’t asked me to save you, you’d be dead by now. So your life belongs to me!"
He lunged forward and pulled her into his arms, his voice suddenly softening. "You’re not a replacement. You’re my Jenna. You’re not Rishima. Your face is exactly like Jenna’s, so you must live as her for the rest of your life, understand?"
Roberto kept stuffing pills into Rishima’s mouth. If even one fell out, he would immediately call for the maid to bring another and force it into her mouth again and again until she vomited, only then did he stop.
Rishima's body trembled violently, her face pale and ashen. In the end, she vomited a mouthful of blood and collapsed into unconsciousness. Roberto panicked and rushed to carry her upstairs. Soon after, his private doctor arrived to examine her.
"How is she?"
The doctor glared at Roberto, gritting his teeth. "Are you insane? This type of medication requires strict dosage control. You can’t just give her as much as you want. Are you trying to kill her?"
Roberto shook his head, a flicker of sorrow in his eyes. "Why would I want to kill her? I love her so much..."
"Then why did you force her to take so many pills?" The doctor warned coldly, "No matter how many pills she takes, they won't erase her current memories. So stop doing something so foolish!"
Roberto shut his eyes tightly, a dull pain throbbing at his temples. He asked, "Is there any other way to make her forget?"
The doctor widened his eyes and shouted, "You still want to give her more drugs? Roberto, you have to stop deceiving yourself. She’s not Jenna. You can’t keep her by your side this way."
The doctor packed up his tools and left without another word. Roberto remained silent the entire time, his expression dark.
Give up on Jenna? That’s impossible. Unless she dies!
…
At Matthew’s villa.
Today, Emily wanted to visit her father in prison. Matthew’s reluctance to help him had only made her feel more anxious.
Just as she stepped out the gate, about to call a taxi, the driver approached and said, "Master Matthew told me to drive you."
Emily frowned slightly when she saw the driver was a stranger. She suspected that Matthew must have finally decided to monitor her. Because she was too exhausted by Matthew’s behavior, Emily overlooked an extremely important detail. The driver today was an unfamiliar face.
After the car had been on the road for a while, Emily, lost in thought, suddenly snapped to alertness and said urgently, "You took the wrong turn, the road to the prison turns left!"
The driver smirked mockingly. "It’s not a mistake. Compared to the prison, there’s somewhere else you need to be."
Before Emily could react, a cloud of thick white gas burst inside the car. In less than a second, she felt dizzy and then lost consciousness completely.
Late that night, Matthew returned home reeking of alcohol and heavy cologne. He kicked open the bedroom door and, finding it empty, shouted, "Where is she?"
The housemaid hurried over and respectfully replied, "Ms. Emily left early this morning and hasn’t come back yet."
"What did you say?" Matthew's brows furrowed deeply, and his expression turned grim.
That morning, he had instructed his driver to stay behind, wherever Emily wanted to go, the driver would take her. There was no way he’d let her catch a taxi. He was determined not to give her a chance to see Peter. And yet she’d been gone all day and still hadn’t returned? Could she have been in a traffic accident?
A terrifying sense of panic surged inside Matthew. His face turned pale.
"No way, don’t think nonsense. She’ll be fine."
Matthew frantically called Emily, but her phone started ringing inside the drawer. Cold sweat began to bead on his forehead, and his hand trembled slightly as he held the phone. He then tried calling the driver. But that, too, went unanswered. A wave of dread crashed over his mind.
"No, she’s fine. Most… most likely she knocked the driver out and escaped. Yes, she’s cunning like that. There’s no way she’d sit quietly and wait."
Matthew kept muttering complaints about Emily, but inside, he was in a state of panic. As time passed, his anxiety only intensified. Matthew’s subordinates had been tracking down the whereabouts of the driver, and soon, he received an update.
“How is it?”
“Boss, we’ve found the driver. He’s safe.”
Matthew let out a sigh of relief. “That’s good. That’s really good.”
“But...”
The subordinate hesitated, as if something was difficult to say. Matthew, growing desperate, barked, “But what?”
“But Ms. Emily... something happened to her.”
Something happened to Emily?
Matthew’s whole body froze. The next moment, he roared, “What nonsense are you saying? How could something happen to her?”
“Boss, the driver said that just before dawn, while he was cleaning the car, someone knocked him out. When he came to, he was tied up, gagged, and dumped in a deserted place. It wasn’t until we found him that he was rescued.”
Matthew staggered back several steps, feeling as if every hair on his head had turned into sharp needles piercing his skin.
Emily had been kidnapped.
Who were they?  Why did they take her? What were they going to do to her?
Matthew clenched his fists, his heart writhing in pain.
...
At Roberto’s villa.
Roberto had just closed the basement door when he turned around and saw Rishima approaching. He frowned and asked, “Why are you here?”
Rishima said, “I just heard something strange.”
She furrowed her brows slightly. Earlier, she had heard an incredibly mournful scream, not loud, but horrifying. Feeling uneasy, she had come to check it out.
Roberto looked displeased. His expression darkened. “You must’ve heard wrong. Let’s go.”
He took Rishima by the arm and led her away. She pressed her lips together in silence, but her head turned back, eyes fixed on the basement.

Just who was locked down there?
