44- Werks mision
Three explorers following the instructions of Captain RedShadow, after arriving at their destination by crossing the Torbel boundary, crossing several rivers to reach the Ambelon continent, approach the village of Werks.
Upon arrival, they search everywhere for the elders who govern the council, but have a hard time finding them as they were in a village with a strong Torbel influence. However, they had a close affinity with the rebels and lived in peace, as they had not participated in any conflict for decades and only followed the pacifist ideas of the elders of Elisod and cultivated their crops. Many locals disagreed with the rebels, some commented that they would bring conflict after so many years of peace, while others affirmed that if they let things continue as they were, the Torbelans would definitely take away their peace.
Finally, one of the explorers spots a man in a gray robe and white beard, so he quickly intercepts him.
"Good afternoon, elder, are you from Elisod?"
"Yes, my friend, what do you need?"
"Fantastic! I have been searching for one of you for hours. We need to deliver this letter to your leaders, and while you take us there, we can escort you."
"Oh, wow!" says the excited elder. "It sounds important, but you don't need to escort me. These lands are very calm and peaceful."
"That's very good, but we have to fulfill this order until we receive a response."
"Very well, very well."
The elder gathers some things, signals to two boys who were with him, and they start to leave Werks. Along the way, the elder asks.
"And where are you young ones coming from?"
"From the lands of Torbel."
"Do you follow the crown?"
The explorers look at each other in doubt.
"That silence says a lot," comments the elder. "Don't worry, I'm not going to turn you in or anything like that. As you know, these villages are allies of the rebels. But then I imagine that this letter has to do with political matters."
"They are orders, sir. We simply have to fulfill them."
"I understand, I understand. I once considered being a soldier, but it really is a very troubled life. I preferred to live peacefully in Ambelon. Because Torbel is very contaminated with wars and power. I hope I can serve you to help your lands see the light again."
Everyone continues on the path for about twenty minutes, and gradually a huge temple with a dedicated and impressive structure shines in the distance, in the middle of a forest. Places like these do not exist in Torbel, so the explorers were very curious and impressed. They pass by, admiring this great building from centuries ago, and get a little excited, expecting to find more similar structures ahead. They arrive at Elisod, but it is a somewhat humble village with structures similar to those in Torbel, where the first thing they notice is that everyone in the village is wearing white attire, and for the first time, they see flowers of all colors, with white predominating a little.
The elder takes them to the city center where about ten elders meditate silently and very focused in the middle of a bonfire.
"Apologies for the interruption, brothers, but these young ones are giving us a letter, which must be attended to urgently."
One of the elders stands up while the others continue with their meditation.
"Have a splendid day, young ones. I am Elder Uan Shon. Accompany me to my humble abode where we can talk without bothering anyone."
They hurry to follow Uan Shon, and upon arriving at the elder's house, some children run to the house and come out with tea cups for all the guests.
"Come in, young ones. Let's see what the letter says."
One of the explorers opens his bag and takes out the letter written by the commander and begins to narrate. "Esteemed Elders, I address you as Captain RedShadow with great affection and valuing our unbreakable alliance. I bring a request for cooperation in the midst of a conflict that will affect us all equally. The Torbel leaders recently attacked a village, massacring many innocents. Therefore, we seek to reconcile a peace agreement, at least temporarily, and for that, as you know, we need your assistance, as these so-called leaders trust you more than us. To prevent this massacre from continuing, King Toslan has requested your assistance in St. Jack to meet and discuss peace agreements."
"May peace be achieved!" says Elder Uan Shon excitedly. "Well, young strangers, take a rest in my quarters. At dusk, when my companions finish their meditation, I will inform them of this information and try to get them to cooperate with the call. Rest and enjoy your stay."
The evening passes, and the explorers stay in a room, and the anxiety is evident in everyone. They knew that Captain RedShadow, due to his reputation, could demand things that were very irrational and even cruel.
"Hey guys, what do you think RedShadow has up his sleeve? That letter didn't sound like it was written by him. Remember, he comes from Osland, and these people tend to be very blunt with their things," comments the explorer Kemos.
"You should trust your superiors more, Kemos. They know what they are doing and why they are doing it," replies the explorer Esseres.
"Whatever it may be, our job is to deliver the message and I suppose also to escort these elders," adds Explorer Sodel. "I just know that I won't get too involved in such delicate matters."
"Even if you're ordered to?" asks Kemos.
"In that case, I have no choice, but I still don't trust the people from Osland too much," responds Sodel. "But I doubt they brought us here for nothing."
"I just hope nothing gets twisted," says Kemos with annoyance.
"You don't have to hope for anything, just fulfill your mission," comments Esseres.
The night passes, and early in the morning, Elder Uan Shon wakes up the explorers. "Good morning, young ones! I bring good news. Our group has made a decision that Captain RedShadow will love. I present to you Elder Oko Saen, Elder Kure Ahoe, and Elder Sayure Shin. The three of them, along with their companions, will follow you to our old town, St. Jack, for the mission entrusted to you."
"A pleasure, brave young ones," greets Elder Oko Saen. "I hope our help will be of great use to your village."
