SUZIE
Getting ready for my work, I looked at my reflection in the mirror. It's been years. But I couldn't get over everything that happened. I knew I should've told my father everything. But I let my mother manipulate me. My eyes had dark circles around that I could no longer hide with make-up. I needed heavier makeup for that.
The day Monty left the country, he brought me pictures of the fetus that was forcefully discarded from Ariana's belly. The face of the child was formed. Ariana was 14 weeks pregnant when they forced the baby out. The picture of that dead baby still haunted me. It was a boy. Just like dad always wanted.
I cried at night just thinking about everything. My stupidity and selfishness of my mother, cost an innocent child its life. And I knew, while I was feeling guilty, my mother felt nothing at all. Instead, she blamed it all on me, adding more to my guilt.
I was depressed. I was taking meds. And after everything that I had done, dad was still paying for my therapy just so I wouldn't decide to end myself one day. I never told him what happened. He just assumed that mom's abuse of all those years took a toll on me. And I needed help. If he ever found out what I did and how I turned his most trusted man into someone who betrayed him and destroyed him, dad would hate me forever.
I could only confess to the things mom made me do. But I didn't tell him how we turned Monty against him. I didn't want him to hate me forever. And I definitely didn't want him to hate himself for trusting mom over his wife.
I unlocked the door to get out of my apartment, but I gasped in surprise when suddenly, Monty appeared in front of me. He grabbed my neck and pushed me inside the apartment. He locked the door before I could react. I was slammed against that same door. Looking into his bloodshot eyes, I knew something wasn't right.
“What are you doing here? Why are you here? How did you find me?” I asked, surprised at his appearance in front of me. To make sure that my secret remain hidden, I made sure to ask dad to hide me. I couldn't tell him that I wanted it from Monty. I couldn't tell him that. I used my mom's evilness to make dad believe that I was terrorized by mom.
Without hesitation, he gave me a brand new identity, just so I could never be found. “Did you really think that you could hide from me? I am Monty. I know everything that Enzo De Luca does.” He growled at me, squeezing his hand around my neck, making me choke.
“I have been looking for you. Time for some payback, little girl.” He growled in anger and the next moment, his lips were on mine. It was a painful and bruising kiss.
