My mother called me to meet me again. I had agreed to meet her. But instead of going back to her home, I decided to meet her at a public place. I knew I could never trust someone like my mother. Not after I had finally seen their true faces altogether. For years, I thought my mother was just trying to protect me when she so easily gave me up to Enzo.
Years later, I found out the truth in the worst way possible. I arrived at the cafe and sat in a far corner. I was wearing a wig and a mask covered my face. I actually called her to let her wait on me then go home disappointed.
Enzo had already informed me that my family had gone bankrupt and their savings were wasted over my father's and brother's gambling habits. They had nothing. And they were literally floating in the sea, trying to keep their heads high. The only way they could actually save it all was through me.
They wanted me to sell everything I had, even my shares, that I had actually earned with hard work, instead of getting it from my forefathers and the heritage, and give it all to them. I lied that I had charited it all away but the truth was, I hadn't even touched all that money.
I had no idea how much I had. When I left Enzo for good, I didn't touch any of that money. I never wanted Enzo to find me. And that money could have led him straight to me. Well, not that it mattered anymore. I was living under the same roof with him again.
Since I decided to have self investing settings, I knew all that I had, must have been tripled by now. That's what they were after. They didn't even care when I told them that I had cancer. All they cared about was money. In the fit of rage, I cursed them to choke on money someday.
I watched my mother wait. Then she mistreated almost everyone in the cafe. Then she was throwing tantrums until she was kicked out of the cafe for good. She had been calling me nonstop but I didn't pick up. Every time she went to voicemail, I watched her growling like a bitch.
Once she had finally left, I couldn't help but laugh at her. She was ready to fool me yet again. To think of the fact that my father decided to marry me off to a man who was his brother growing up, adopted brother, bit still brother. That family was completely fucked up.
I gathered my stuff and was about to leave when a familiar face bumped into me. I almost fell backwards. Until he caught me by my arm. With wide eyes, I looked at him in utter surprise. “Charlie?” I shouted loudly.
“Ariana! Is that really you?” He asked in a surprised tone. Then the fucked offered me a smile. That smile made my blood boil. And without thinking, I swang at him. I punched him in the face with all the strength I could master. Which was a lot. Because as soon as he turned back to me, he was already missing a tooth.
