Enzo was extremely happy with me all over him all the time. He wouldn't even let the nurses touch him. I was ordered to everything for him. Even taking him to the bathroom was my duty. Suzie was allowed to come and see him at a certain time. While he told Valentina to stay away from him.
That day, I woke up when I heard Enzo groaning. As if he was in pain. “Are you okay? Why are you making noises like that?” I asked him, concerned about his well being.
“I feel like I haven't showered in days. Can you bathe me, love. I smell like a rotten dead pig.” The thought of bathing him made my heart skip a beat.
“Don't you think it's too early. I mean, we can't get the bandages wet.” I asked in a low tone. He growled in anger. Maybe he was feeling like he was dirty at that point.
“Why don't I go and ask a doctor? I don't want to hurt you in any way, Enzo.” I was glad when he nodded his head in agreement.
Wrapping a gown around my body, I walked out of the room, looking for the doctors but I couldn't find them. “Mrs De Luca, is everything okay?” I jumped when I heard Monty.
“Oh yeah! Everything is fine. I was just looking for a doctor. Where are they?” I asked Monty, nervously playing with my fingers.
“The shift changed. New ones are yet to come. Is everything okay with boss?” Of course, he was also concerned about Enzo as I was. Monty was one person Enzo trusted with his life. And Monty was the most loyal man working for Enzo since the beginning. The two of the have been working today before I was even born.
“Umm! Huh! Yes! Everything is fine. He just wants to bathe. I wanted to ask the doctors if it was safe for him to have a bath. Or if there were any caution to follow.” I finally spoke the real reason of why I was looking for the doctors.
My eyes were narrowed. I was embarrassed but that didn't mean I was asking anything bad. “Umm! When!! Let me ask one of them. You should go back to your room. I shall let you know about the whole thing as soon as I can.” I nodded my head, turned around and rah back to Enzo.
As soon as he saw me, he opened one of his arms for me. Ever since he came back home, he had been wanting to keep me in his arms. Something scared him. And it was the exact same thing that scared me as well. We both never wanted to lose each other.
“What's wrong?” He asked, smirking at me.
“Nothing! Monty will ask the doctors. They are not here yet.” I informed Enzo of everything.
“Then why are you all red as a tomato?” Enzo asked me. I was about to slap his chest but I stopped myself.
After a while a light knock on our bedroom door pulled me out of the oceans of my thoughts. I walked toward the door and opened it. “The doctors said that it's fine if he bathes. But make sure it's not a shower. You need to unbandage his wounds, clean it, and apply ointment. Then after the bath, you clean it again, apply ointment and bandage it again. The wound should be nicely clean and dry before you cover it up again.” I nodded as I understood the whole list Monty gave me.
