SAMIA'S POV:-
We stepped out of the elevator. Chief Nickolas was already waiting for us standing in front of the office of the Alpha of the Hounds. We reached closer towards the office. Chief Nickolas opened the door for Carlos. We stepped into the office where everyone was waiting for us. All the Hounds were already waiting for us in the office. Alen's photo was hung on the wall behind the desk. With the star in his photo. A sign of the bravest knights. There were not many knights who had gotten that star. Alen always wanted to get that star on his photo one day. Although he was not a knight from the beginning. He just wanted that honor for himself. I knew he might be very happy knowing that he had finally gotten the Star in his photo.
Carlos was taken towards his new seat. That was the Alpha's seat. Carlos sat down on the chair and we all bowed down in front of him in respect. As I bowed in front of him, Carlos stood up as if his seat suddenly became spikey. "Oh my! Does she have to bow down before me too?" He asked that question to Chief Nickolas in a panicked tone. I raised my head to look at him. I was surprised to see a worried look on his face. A confused frown appeared on my face as I saw him scratching the back of his neck. He usually did that whenever he was tensed. Everything was perfect until that moment when I bowed down in front of him.
"Yeah! She is part of your team. And you are her Alpha. She is supposed to bow down in front of you. Just like the other hounds are doing. Is everything okay? Is there any problem?" Chief Nickolas replied to Carlos in a low tone and then he asked Carlos about the reason why he panicked suddenly. I turned to look at Erica who was standing beside me. She wiggled her eyebrows in a questioning way. s if asking me about the reason behind this sudden change of atmosphere. I shrugged my shoulders in response. As it was the very first time he behaved like that. I didn't know what was the reason behind his sudden outburst either.
Carlos signalled us all to stand up. We did as he ordered. We all stood up in front of him. "That can't happen. She can't now before me. A dragon's mate or a dragon's wife should never bow before the dragon. It is considered as the beginning of the bad luck for the whole kingdom. I can't allow her to bow before me." My eyes widened as Carlos finally revealed the main reason behind his drama. My cheeks burned as I turned around and covered my face with both of my hands. I wanted to disappear under a wall after that moment. I had no idea he was going to argue that I couldn't bow before him because I was going to be his wife.
The other hounds started hooting as they heard Carlos. I really wanted to punch him for being so careless. I told him to keep it low until we would deal with my past. But Carlos had something else in his mind. "Well, if that's the case, you can ask Samia to never bow before you again. Rest of the hounds have the bow before you. You are their Alpha. They all have to respect you." Chief Nickolas replied to Carlos while chuckling. I wanted the ground to swallow me whole. It was embarrassing. Well, in a good way embarrassing moment it was. I turned back around and looked at his face. He was smiling proudly at his doing.
I gave him a deadly stare before I decided to run away. But Vanessa grabbed my hand and stopped me. I gave her a pleading look so I could run away. But she just gave me her mischievous grin. Then she pulled me towards Carlos. She pushed me towards Carlos. He was quick to wrap one of his arms around my waist to keep me close to his tall figure. "If we go with the rules of our world. That means Samia becomes the Luna. So she doesn't have to bow down in front of Alpha Carlos. You know, in many werewolf kingdoms, alphas used to bow before their Lunas. As a signature of their love towards their mates." Alpha Kaden spoke loudly, making me blush even more.
I pushed Carlos and turned to look at the pack. "Cut that out, guys. We are still not married. I need to figure out my past and my powers. Only then I can get married to Carlos. So stop it." I whispered in a low tone while staring at the ground. Although, my heart was literally dancing inside my chest as everyone was talking about our marriage and our relationship, I couldn't just let them all know how excited I really was to spend the rest of my life standing beside that man. The same man who scared the hell out of me the very first time I had seen him. The very man who was courageous enough to grab my neck back then and choke me.
"Oh! Well, that's your personal problem then. We can't interfere in your personal problem. But you both a mates. That makes you the Luna. So, I guess, end of the argument?" Erica was the one to answer that. I rolled my eyes at everyone. They were constantly making me feel embarrassed. And Carlos was literally enjoying everything that had been happening. It started to feel like he put everyone on the mission to make me blush like that. I turned my head towards Carlos who had this taunting grin on his face. As he sawy cry baby face, he chuckled softly and wrapped one of his arms around my shoulders. He pulled me closer to his tall figure again, as if he was marking me as his territory.
"That reminds me of the reason why I wanted to talk to you, chief. I want to go with Samia to help her figure out how she had gotten her powers. And she wants to find out the purpose why she was given these powers. As I am her mate, it is my duty to help her with every single hurdle in her life." Carlos asked chief Nickolas in a low tone. Everyone awed at us as they heard Carlos' words. I smiled shyly and buried my face in his chest. That man hd powers to make my heart flutter whenever he wanted. And he truly enjoyed whenever I got embarrassed and hid my face in his chest. I couldn't help myself. His arms were actually the safest place in the world for me.
Chief Nickolas nodded his head slowly as he heard Carlos. "If that's the case, who is going to take care of the Hounds while you are gone. You need to announce someone to be the Alpha while you are gone. Son we can keep the business going. You know, crime and the criminals just don't stop even in our world." Chief Nickolas asked Carlos in a low tone. He looked around while scratching the back of his neck nervously. He really didn't think about it. That he would have to ask someone to take his place while we would be gone. He turned to look at me with his same puppy eyes that always made me giggle at him.
"I think Alpha Kaden is more than capable of taking your place for a while. He has been an Alpha for more than ten years. He has experience and he knows about the laws of our world too." I replied to that question I saw in his puppy eyes. He turned to look at Alpha Kaden. After a minute, he nodded his head slowly. He turned to look at me and winked at me.
