ALPHA LUCIAN'S POV:l
I was staring at a bunch of fireflies in the front garden. I was waiting for Eris to come out of the mansion. She changed the whole interior of the mansion. It looked so different, even I couldn't recognize the place. When she asked me whatever she was supposed to wear for our very first date night, I was shocked. She was a woman who turned the whole mansion around because she wanted to. Everything was just perfect.
Simple and elegant, just the way I like everything I own. That's how she redecorated the whole mansion. That same woman had no idea what she was supposed to wear. I just gave her a few words I thought would help her figure out her own wildness. I walked out because I knew she would need some time to get ready.
Smiling at my own words, I was staring at the fireflies. She was just like those fireflies. Bright light in my darkness and innocent for nature. I was lost in my thoughts when I heard the sound of a pair of footsteps approaching me from behind. When I turned around to look at her, my jaw literally dropped on the ground.
That woman looked absolutely stunning in the dress she was wearing. I couldn't say if it was the sexual desires that took over my senses or something else. I didn't get an erection. But my whole body was warming up for something I couldn't understand. There was a small smile on her face. Her eyes were brighter than before. It felt like I had literally awakened her wild side with my words. She stopped in front of me and snapped her fingers in front of my eyes a few times to pull me out of the daze I was lost in.
“What's wrong? You are staring at me as if you don't ever recognize me.” She asked me in a confused tone. I mentally slapped myself for behaving like a moron. She was that same woman who had brought peace in my life. And now, I was doing her the same favor.
In the past year, I had seen her dressed up once. That too on an occasion. But even back then, she didn't look as confident and elegant as she looked when she finally chose her style on her own.
My heart skipped a few beats to remind me that she was still staring at me. I cupped her face with one hand while smiling back at her. “You look absolutely stunning. I feel like I am underdressed for our first date night.” I replied to her question honestly.
She covered her mouth and started giggling like a teenage girl. She had started doing that very often. And I couldn't say I didn't like that habit of hers. She looked absolutely adorable whenever she giggled. “You look as handsome as a Greek God. What else do you want?” She spoke in a low tone and winked at me.
The thought came to my mind a few times to drop the idea of taking her to dinner and instead, take her to the bedroom where I would have her raw and whole. But I was the first one to realize that there was a lot of sex between us and we had hardly ever spent our time doing anything but fucking each other. I knew she told me that she was fine with everything. But I was not. I knew she deserved something more than just a sex partner for me.
That was the very reason why I had decided to take her out on a fancy date. Also, I wanted to help her to take her mind off of the things that had recently happened in her life. I wanted her to feel the freedom she now had. Instead, she was trying to drown herself in work.
I brought her to a fancy restaurant in the capital. For security reasons, I decided to bring my guards with me. Since it was in the capital and only alphas and the members of the Royal family could afford a place like that, I knew that place could be problematic.
But I always wanted to take my woman to that restaurant. I never got the chance with my mate and Carrie as well. Then they cheated on me. The only reason Carrie was alive was because I had made a promise to my best friend that I would always protect his little sister.
Eris was a little nervous when we stepped into the restaurant when she found out that the other alphas could also afford this place. I was constantly talking to her to lighten up her mood. Soon, she was laughing while talking to me. She looked so carefree.
The dinner was deserved soon. We were enjoying each other's company. When I thought things were perfect, a familiar scent suddenly reached my nostrils and my wolf growled inside my chest in annoyance. He was suddenly agitated and I knew the reason. It was the man who actually took over everything that I owned in the past.
“Ah! If it isn't the great Alpha Lucian Horde of the biggest pack of the werewolf kingdom. What a surprise to meet you in this restaurant?” He spoke in a low tone as he approached me.
I was breathing heavily and my veins on the back of my hands were popping up and down as I tightened up my fists. I could feel Eris' eyes on me. And I could almost hear all the questions that might have been swirling in her mind. But I was actually avoiding her gaze.
I didn't want to talk to that bastard. I was not afraid of him or anything. It's just… whenever he looked at something that belonged to me, something that I loved, that thing ended up betraying me for some reason. I couldn't say how he managed to destroy me over and over again.
I wanted to do something to make him go away. When I finally looked up at Eris, I found her staring at me with a confused look on her face. “You got yourself a new plaything, I see. How long is she gonna last before she opens her legs for some other man?” Glider asked me in a mocking tone. He raised his hand to touch Eris' hair. She leaned back against her chair to avoid Grider's touch.
“If you have nothing important to say, I would ask you to leave. My Alpha and I are discussing something important about our pack.” Eris growled at the bastard. I wanted to laugh at Glider. His face was as if someone pulled his pants down in the open restaurant and people say how small his dick was. His men tried to grab her but I was faster. My claws were on Grider's throat before his men could touch Eris.
“I think you heard her loud and clear when she told you to walk away. It's better if you do that because we are no longer on my father's land where some slut opened her legs for my father and thought my father gave her his whole pack in exchange for her dirty pussy.” I growled in his ear, threatening to push the button that hurt him the most. Glider signalled his men to step away from Eris. That woman didn't even blink when she was surrounded by a bunch of beastly men hovering over her.
Her belief in her Alpha was stronger than Glider might have ever imagined. Glider raised both of his hands in front of me. He surrendered rather quickly than I had expected. I let go of his neck. Soon, Glider walked away, leaving me to eat in peace with the person I wanted to be with at that moment. “Who the fuck was that?” Eris asked as she glared at Glider's back as he walked away from our table. I wanted to tell her everything but not at that moment.
“I will tell you everything. But for now, let's just focus on each other. Tonight, I brought you here so I can make you feel how special you actually are for me. And for my whole world.” I whispered softly while looking into her eyes. Her cheeks turned a rosy shade of pink almost instantly. She was blushing and she looked absolutely stunning at that moment.
THIRD PERSON'S POV:-
Glider walked into his Villa. He started throwing things on the ground. All the expensive shit his mother had collected from all around the werewolf kingdom to decorate the villa. If only those things could actually make him feel as fancy as his mother thought they would.
Glider's mother, Savannah, came running to save as much stuff as she could from her son. But it was one of those days when Glider had a meltdown and he was up to destroy everything and everyone that was to come in his way.
After he had destroyed the living room and the drawing room, he went toward the bar in his Villa. He poured himself a glass of whiskey. He was humiliated by the man he hated the most, in front of something that was simply beautiful. He sipped from his glass once then he howled for his beta. His beta came running to find out why his alpha was going all crazy all over again. He just went out to have dinner with the fellow alphas.
“Call that bastard Samael. I want to talk to that bastard right the fuck now.” Glider growled at his beta, as if that man was his slave. The poor man bowed his head in front of Glider as if Glider was not an Alpha, but the king of all werewolves. Glider always wanted to get treated like royal blood.
His beta ran to call Samael. Samael was in his cabin when he received the message. The Colton family and their loyal people who were able to run with the alpha, had taken refuge under Glider's wing. Why was Glider helping them? He had his own twisted motives for the land he had his eyes set on the day Lucian took over the land and claimed it as his.
Samael appeared in front of Glider in no time. By then, Glider was almost drunk. “ I thought I gave you everything you needed to bring Lucian down and take over your pack. You still failed. What else do you want?” Glider growled at Samael angrily.
Glider spat I'm his glass then threw its content on Samael's face to humiliate him in the worst way. Glider started laughing when he watched how Samael was wiping his face. Glider walked toward Samael and grabbed him by his throat.
“You have ten days to do something or else, I am throwing you and your people out. You will be nothing but rogues till the day you live.” Glider growled angrily at Samael. Samael nodded his head. He knew it was best not to argue with Glider when he was drunk and angry.
Glider pushed Samael and he fell on the ground. “That's just not it. I also want this woman Lucian was with. The new whore he has found for himself. Turns out, she is very proud and powerful.” Glider growled at Samael.
For a moment, Samael was confused. Then it hit him like a rock. This pain he had been feeling all over his body. The sadness and darkness that was taking over his heart. He thought it was just Eris being a loyal citizen of Alpha Lucian's pack. But he never would have thought that Alpha Lucian, who always had his women the most beautiful, would fall for an ugly face like Eris'.
Growling in anger, Samael just nodded his head as he stood back up on his feet again. He practically ran out of the Villa. The anger in his chest was burning like lava, burning him from the inside and turning his heart into ashes.
