SUZUE
With wide eyes, I watched as his lips curled up in a grin. But that murderous look on his face remained the same. He was playing with me but at the same time, he was making sure that I remained under his control. He let go of my hand willingly. He didn't ask any questions. He already knew he had hit the right spot. The very wound that hurt me the most. Now, it was my turn to hold his hands, but to plead with him.
“Monty, please! Don't do this to me. It's unfair how you are punishing me so severely. I know, I messed up. But you can't punish me for everything my mom did.” I tried to argue with him. I never wanted my mom to find out where I lived. She had ruined my life enough. And to think of it, I wasn't even dad's daughter. He was kind enough to keep me under his wing because he believed that my mother's cheating had nothing to do with me. That it wasn't my fault.
Yes, her cheating on him and my birth was not my fault, but it wasn't his as well. And he didn't owe me anything. Knowing the fact that I wasn't his blood, yet he did everything to provide me with comfort, made my heart swell. And at the same time, my heart bled for all that I did to create havoc in his life.
Come to think of it, I knew how happy he was after a long time. And I had ruined it for him. I ruined it for Monty as well. But I was forced to do all that. Before I could brace myself, Monty slammed me against the wall as well. “You should have thought about it before you were destroying everything. What you did, was also unfair to me in ways. Your mom didn't open her legs for me. Your mom didn't push my fingers up her pussy. Your mom didn't seduce me to submit. That was all you.” He growled at me, but it wasn't loud enough for anyone else to listen.
I cried silent tears. Maybe it was karma that was biting my ass after five years. Only God knows how I had cried and sought forgiveness every single night since I found out that I wasn't Enzo De Luca’s biological daughter. I went for confessions, I helped people, seeking that piece of me and the peace of my life that I lost somewhere. But nothing helped.
I was too cowardly to take my own life. I wiped my tears, believing that it's what I deserve for destroying 3 lives and taking an innocent one just because I was too greedy to let go, I decided there wasn't anything else I could do. “I'll do it. Please, don't tell my father, and don't call my mother.” I agreed to his terms. Back then, I didn't know what was coming for me. But I just hoped my body would be weak enough to give up soon.
Monty patted my head gently. “Now that's my good girl. Be a good little whore for me for the rest of your life, that's the true punishment you actually deserve. You don't deserve love. You deserve someone who would treat you as his personal fuck thing until he's satisfied.” I didn't say anything. I deserved all that was coming for me.
With his handkerchief, Monty wiped my tears off of my face. Then he wiped my runny make-up carefully so no one could say that I had cried. Then he grabbed my hand and pulled me back toward the registrar.
No questions were asked. The registrar opened the page where I was supposed to sign. Taking a deep breath, I signed those damn papers. Monty had already done his part. We were offered rings. I didn't have any vows so I stayed silent. But at his chance, he promised to make my life a living hell for sure.
Then he cupped my face and kissed me. I was expecting another bruising kiss. But it was a gentle kiss. He didn't demand anything. He just held me close to his chest. One of his arms wrapped around my waist, the other one cupped the back of my neck, holding me in place. Gently, he sucked my lips.
That kiss almost made me forget his vows. Almost! When he finally pulled away, I had my eyes closed and I was breathing heavily. He didn't wait for me to open my eyes. I was scooped into his arms very carefully and he carried me bridal style, toward a new cab that he might have hired. I had no idea how he was doing it all but at that point, I didn't want to ask him anything.
I was on his lap, the driver kept glancing at us through the rearview mirror. It was awkward. But I was just too exhausted to care. I laid my head on his shoulder, hoping I could get a short nap. I just wanted everything negative to disappear from my life.
Through blurred vision, I saw my apartment building and my heart began thudding into my rib cage. His vows started echoing in my mind, reminding me why he married me. He wanted to punish me. He wanted to hurt me. He was seeking revenge.
I noticed that Monty was paying in cash. That meant, dad was still looking for him. And he was still on a run. Once he was done, he threw me on his shoulder and started walking towards my apartment building. “Smile and giggle. Like a newly married woman should be doing. So no one suspects anything.” He growled, slapping my butt.
“And if I refused to play your game?” I asked, trying to sound so brave.
“Then I'll have to start killing people in your building, whoever came snooping around. Because you know well, I don't like people meddling with my personal business. And you, I own you.” My heart sank in the pit of my stomach as I heard his plans. His plans were very accurate and thorough. As if he had spent years perfecting them all.
