Chapter 222 Book 5: Epilogue

Chapter 222 Book 5: Epilogue
Five Years Later
“Aunt Isa, when will Wesley and Isaac be able to play with us?” asked a six-year-old, excited Carson. Easton sat watching the ten-month-old twin boys, making a mess of their breakfast.
Isabella looked at all the four children with love. “In a few months they’ll be able to walk and could play with you two,” she said, and they cheered happily.
“But I could walk the moment I was born. I was born an adult,” said Easton, his tone, his attitude resembled Weston so much that they always rolled their eyes when he spoke.
“What rubbish! I had to carry you on my shoulders even when you were two years old. You simply refused to walk!” said Hudson with an eye roll.
Anna Sophia came rushing downstairs. “Are we all ready? I’ll check up on mom and dad,” she said excitedly.
“I’ll just bathe these two and get them ready first. Only then can I get ready,” grumbled Isabella, looking around for Weston for help. Hudson noticed her helpless look.
“He isn’t here. He’s gone for a meeting but promised to reach the venue directly. I’ll bathe the twins and you can just get them ready,” he offered.
“Thanks, bro. You’re the best,” she said with relief, and Hudson smiled.
“Anytime, pumpkin. When will my experience come handy?” he said with a chuckle, picking up Isabella’s boys and carrying them to the washroom for a bath. Isabella rushed upstairs to take a quick shower in the meantime.
Ever since the twins were born, life had been a roller-coaster ride for her with no respite, even for ten minutes. The twins were a handful and, being hyperactive, they slept a lot less and played a lot more. She couldn’t blame Weston. He had been the best husband any woman could ever have. He had taken extreme care of her during her pregnancy and childbirth and also later, making breakfast for her, taking her for checkups, ensuring that she ate her meals, giving her massages, and so on and so forth.
His start-up business wasn’t doing well during the initial years, since he was more involved with her and their babies. But things improved in the last six months and his work started picking up and improving. Isabella didn’t bother him much since he was working so hard for them.
So when Cody and Victoria suggested that they all go on a vacation to Summerlin at the same resort where Isabella and Weston had their wedding, everyone agreed. It was a much-needed break for everyone. Cody’s parents, Dave’s parents and Weston’s parents were also going along with the boys and their families. Cody and Victoria were going with their twin daughters, Valerie and Carol, while Dave and Christina, with their daughters, Carolyn and Davina. Hudson and Weston were also going with their wives and children, Lawrence and Arianna with their two children.
After two hours, they all reached Lakewood Resorts and climbed down from their cars. A gush of emotions struck Isabella immediately, seeing the place where she had been united with her Weston five years back. She looked around eagerly for the only person who still brought a smile to her lips and made her heartbeats speed up with just his presence. Her husband, her soul-mate, her Weston.
“Looking for me, love?” said Weston’s voice as he approached her from behind. Isabella whirled around and saw him coming towards her with a radiant smile on his face, his arms open wide for her to run into. She did just that. She ran into them and clung to his neck, having missed him already.
“Yes, I missed you,” she told him. He grinned and held her close.
“I missed you more. My mind was with Mr. Baker, but my heart was with you,” said Weston, kissing the tip of her nose.
“So, did you strike a deal with B. B. Group?” she asked him excitedly, and Weston nodded.
“Yeah, they’ve given us a very important project. It’ll be good for our portfolio,” said Weston. Isabella looked very satisfied. Although she couldn’t go to the office with him, she was well aware of everything that he was into. She was very involved with him.
“Where are the little brats? Don’t see them around?” asked Weston.
“They’re with Anna Sophia and the boys,” she told him. Cody came towards them with his six-month-old daughter, Carol, in his arms.
“Hey Wes, where’s my son-in-law? Carol wants company,” said Cody with a grin. Weston and Isabella chuckled and walked towards Isaac, whom Carol seemed to like, and played with more. Wesley, however, played with Valerie more and seemed to get on with her very well. So Cody and Victoria always matched them together. Dave’s girls were three years of age and played with Hudson’s boys more than with the little ones.
They checked into the property, and all gathered on the open deck for breakfast. Everyone was in a mood to enjoy themselves. After breakfast with the kids busy with one another and their parents supervising them, Weston pulled Isabella for a stroll around the property.
“I’m so attached to this place where we had our wedding that I could come here again and again and yet never tire of this place,” said Weston, as they strolled hand in hand, reminiscing together.
“I know, Weston. Nothing has changed here, it seems,” said Isabella, looking around. “Look at that gazebo, we had our first look there, do you remember?” said Isabella, pointing at the place.
“I remember everything, Isabella, like it was just yesterday,” said Weston. He didn’t tell her he had planned to celebrate their 5th anniversary here. Isabella did not know that they had come here to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
So the next two days passed by among a lot of fun, games and activities. Finally, it was their anniversary and Isabella woke up with an amazing love-making in the morning. It was as magical as the first time that they had made love. That was the magic of true love. It never diminished, it increased with each passing day till you’re not two people in love, you’re one.
Weston treated her to breakfast in bed, with a bouquet of red roses for her. “Happy anniversary, my love,” said Weston. “I’m so glad to have you in my life. You’re like the sun. I need you. I’d be lost without you. You complete me, Isabella,” said Weston. Isabella kissed him lovingly.
“Happy anniversary, my baby, you complete me too. You’re my life, my home, my solace, my only reason for living, my world, my everything,” she said, getting down and taking out something from her handbag. She climbed back onto the bed.
“Close your eyes, Weston. I have something for you,” she whispered. Weston closed his eyes with a giddy smile on his face, eagerly waiting. Isabella took out the platinum chain with a pendant with the letters. I and W intertwined together as one. She placed it around his neck and fixed the clasp. Weston opened his eyes, feeling the cool metal around his neck. He looked at his gift with a grin.
“It’s amazing,” he said, feeling it with his fingers.
“I bought it with the money collected from the sale of Pursuing My Dreams, “ she told him. Two years back, the book had been completed and sent to the publishing house. The same publisher, Tiffany’s uncle, published her second book too. It became more successful than the first one and there has been no looking after since then. She had been overloaded with offers, but then the twins happened and she took her much-needed break.
“Really? I’m so proud of you, love,” he said with a kiss on her forehead.
They spent the whole day celebrating in various ways. The way Weston planned little things to make her feel special impressed her. The resort kitchen staff taught her a special cake recipe for her husband and she eagerly helped them make it. It was evening, and a party was organized, surprising her completely. She realized Weston had planned this all along.
His anniversary gift was a small diary of verses that he wrote for her every day in the last five years after their wedding. They might not be literary masterpieces, but they were heartfelt and precious. She kissed him and thanked him with tears in her eyes. Tears of happiness, of course! They were the most touching gift possible, as they were straight from his heart. They were priceless.
“Please don’t publish it. It’s only for you,” said Weston with a shy grin.
“It has already been published in my heart,” she whispered. Weston was overwhelmed by her response. He pulled his wife closer and crushed her to his hard body. They kissed lingeringly and held hands to go and spend some time with everybody, their loved ones. They had come a long way together, through many difficulties, and these were the people who had always stood by them like a rock. They wanted to share a few moments with all of them before returning to their hectic lives.
As they watched the kids play, they could see Easton and Carolyn already having a clash of their own, just like they used to initially. They shared a look, remembering their own love clash. Will they grow up to have the same? Heaven forbid!
