Chapter 47 His Feelings in Tint

Chapter 47 His Feelings in Tint
HE WILL treat her like a stranger.

It was carved in Lena's mind and she suddenly regretted pushing him away. The thought about Lucian, completely ignoring her, treating her like she doesn't exist already hurts. What more if she experienced it first hand?

She barely had a normal sleep. Good thing she doesn't have work on Sundays. She didn't even have to wake Angel up early.

Lena went down and went straight to the kitchen to have some coffee. But she froze when she saw Lucian, sitting in his favorite place, sipping coffee.

He was alone. The maids probably don't want to get on his bad side early in the morning since he already has a big frown on his face.

Lena proceeded to the island counter to make her coffee. She tried to steal glances at Lucian to see if he'll look at her, but he didn't.

Sighing, Lena stirred her coffee and was about to leave when Lucian abruptly pulled himself up and knocked over the mug. His coffee spilled on his shirt and he groaned, probably burned.

"Argh! That was hot," Lucian said and looked at his white shirt that's now stained.

"Are you okay?" Lena asked, worriedly, unable to stop herself.

Lucian didn't look at her. His lips protruded a little as he sighed. "Darn it burns. If only someone who cares would put an ointment."

Lena's lips parted, not because of his childish, dreamy line, but because of how he ignored her like she wasn't there at all.

Lucian walked out of the kitchen, shaking his head, leaving Lena stunned.

She swallowed hard and then caressed her temple. He didn't treat her like a stranger, he completely ignored her.

Lena tried to shrug it off and continued with her daily morning routine. After drinking coffee, she waited for Angel to wake up.

Lucian was just around, doing nothing. He was always around Lena like he was deliberately showing her how he ignores her. Like making her realize that she made the wrong decision.

It was childish. A very childish act of a college man, but Lena was affected. She won't deny it. She could never.

At lunch, Lucian purposely knocked over his water glass. The water spilled on the table and the maids immediately cleaned it.

"Uncle Lucian, you're so reckless," Angel said, giggling.

Lucian chuckled and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah. I think I've been reckless for the past few days."

He was petty, infuriating, annoying.

At first Lena believed that he's deliberately ignoring her while sticking around to hurt her, but then she realized he's not up to torturing her. He was stealing her attention.

All because Lena didn't pay attention to him again since he ignored her in the kitchen that morning.

Later that night, Lena went to the kitchen to bring down the glass Angel used to drink her milk before sleeping. She washed the glass and put it back in the cupboard before she went upstairs again.

She was halfway down the hallway toward her room when she ran into Lucian, shirtless, towel on his neck like he was going somewhere. Probably headed to the pool.

Lena's eyes automatically avoided his hard chest and stomach as she swallowed hard and took a deep breath.

He looked like a walking sin and temptation.

Hot, handsome, and devilish.

"Still pretending I'm invisible?" Lucian asked, his tone was sarcastic but playful.

Lena looked at him, lips curled into a frown. "You did it first."

Lucian's brow shot up. "So, you're getting even?"

Lena rolled her eyes unconsciously and Lucian hissed. "Did you just roll your eyes on me?"

Lena glared at him. "Yes, so what?"

He smiled, a faint one, no mockery, just a pure faint smile. "You've become so brave now, huh?"

Lena felt even more irritated. "Don't play games with me, Lucian. You already got what you wanted. Stop this game now."

"That's the problem, Magdalena," Lucian growled slowly and advanced towards her. "I'm not playing games. It was never a game to me."

Lena wanted to step back to give enough space between them, but she was rooted to her place. She couldn't focus on him because she could feel the warmth from his body. The distance between them was too small. She could already feel his breath fanning her face. It smells so fresh, minty. Distracting her even more.

"What happened to us..." Lucian whispered, staring down at her, so close, so intimate. "....at that hotel and in the pool, I never treated those moments like a game. I've always been serious with you. You're the one who's playing with me. Play girl!"

That's what made Lena look him in the eyes. "I'm not a play girl."

Lucian's lips curled into a smirk, playful and handsome. "You are. You are pushing and pulling me. You are making me fall for you so hard, but you're still up to marrying my father."

Lena swallowed hard. That got into her. "I..."

"I'm not forcing you, Magdalena," Lucian whispered. "I can settle for what you can give. But you see, the more you give me your attention, the more I crave for more."

Lena was lost for words, she didn't know what to say. She stood in front of Lucian like a doll, unmoving, completely in daze.

She flinched when Lucian brushed the back of his fingers against her cheek. He smiled. "Tell me if you'll stay, and I'll fight the world for us. But if you won't, I'll try to understand."

"You'll try?" Lena asked, suspiciously.

Lucian chuckled dangerously. "Hm! If I see you crying while saying goodbye, I won't let you go. But if you looked at me like you never wanted to kiss me again, I'll leave on my own."

Why did the latter sound painful?

MAGDALENA barely had a good sleep. She woke up early the next morning feeling a bit of a headache because she kept on thinking about what Lucian said last night.

Angel was still asleep beside her. She got off the bed, carefully rolling the blanket off her feet. She was about to enter the bathroom when she noticed a flower on the floor of the balcony.

Curious, she opened the sliding door and picked up the flower. One red rose and a piece of paper.

'I'm sorry for ignoring you. I was just trying to make you coax me, but I guess I couldn't stand a day treating each other like that. Here's a flower for the most beautiful woman walking on Earth.

Your handsome admirer,
L.M.'

The letter was simple, but it put a smile on Lena's lips. It is just so good to know that the man you like sees you as the most beautiful woman. It raised her confidence to the highest level and she found herself biting her bottom lip so hard to suppress her wide smile.
