Chapter 90
Chapter 90
Dale’s POV
All I saw was red as I landed two heavy blows on Justin’s face. What the hell were they doing together? Was she doing this to spite me because Vanessa had come to visit me? Damn it. I had told her that she could be with anyone but him. Why the hell did she have to be stubborn? Now look what she was making me do.
“What the hell is wrong with you? Dale, stop it!” she hissed and pushed me away from her new fuck toy.
I staggered back and stared at her, shock racing through me. She was really choosing him above me. That was insane. With the amount of jealousy she had shown seeing me with Vanessa, you would have thought that she was in love with me.
“What is wrong with you, man? We are family. You should not be hitting me that way,” he complained as he wiped blood off his nose.
“Jesus Christ! Dale, look at what you have done. What the hell is wrong with you?” Ava yelled as she rushed over to him.
I watched her look at the damage I had done. My hands itched to do even more, seeing her all caring around him.
“Dale, what is wrong with you? You didn't have to go off on him like that. Moreover, who is he?” Vanessa asked beside me.
I looked at her and shook my head. “He is the bastard whose dad is fucking my mom.”
“Oh!” she whispered, understanding my position.
“Stop acting so sour about the fact that our parents are into each other. Your mom is equally fucking my dad. I equally have a right to be mad too,” he hissed at me as he pressed a napkin to his nose, trying to stop the bleeding.
I shook my head at the sissy. He had no right to be mad at my mom. His dad was taking advantage of my mom, and he was equally trying to take advantage of Ava, and I wasn't going to let that happen.
“My mom isn't taking advantage of your dad. Your father is the one turning my mom against me,” I hissed at him.
“Oh really? Well, maybe my dad is just helping her see the terrible job she did raising a fool like you,” he hissed, and whatever anger I felt before was heightened in multiple folds.
There was no way he was really saying that about me and my mom.
“What the hell did you say about my mom?” I stepped closer to him.
“Leave him alone, Dale,” Ava said and tried to step in between us, but I pushed her away, ensuring that there was no obstruction between me and Justin.
“What did you say about my mom?” I hissed in his face.
“I said that she did a terrible job raising you!” he sneered in my face, and in that instant, I completely lost it.
My palms shot out before me and I struck him hard on the face, harder than my first two punches. He fell to the floor with a thud, and I immediately pounced on him, my feral instincts taking over.
“Dale, stop it now!” Ava’s yelling was muted by the anger racing through me.
People were talking, yelling, and gathering, but I was not bothered by any of that. Instead, I rained blows on his face, injuring him as hard as I could. My palms were already bloodied, and I could see the blood trickling down his face, but that was not enough to stop me.
It took two hefty security guards to pull me away from Justin, who was lying in a pool of blood on the floor.
Ava immediately rushed over to him, falling over his body and cradling him in her arms. Watching her get so caring and emotional over him annoyed the hell out of me.
I tried to free myself and drag her away from his body when Mom stepped in front of me, her eyes staring daggers. Seeing my mom filled with disappointment and anger did a reset to my brain, and shame immediately washed over me.
“Take him away,” she said stiffly, and with firm resolve, she looked away from me and walked over to Ava.
I sat in the holding room, restless. It had been hours since I had been kept in here, and I didn't know what was going on out there. Hell, I was not even sure how much trouble I was in, but I was certain it was a lot.
Finally, after what felt like the longest time ever, two guards walked in and dragged me out of the holding room.
“Where are you guys taking me to?” I demanded.
They didn't respond to me and dragged me to a conference room.
Inside the room were Mom, Mr. Rice, Ava, Mom’s lawyer, and two members of the company’s board.
What the hell was this? I could not explain it, but somehow, I didn't want to be here. It would be better if I was being held by the cops and not them.
“What is this?” I asked as my eyes glanced through everyone seated in the room.
“Have a seat, kid,” Mr. Rice said, pointing to an empty chair at the far end of the room.
“No. He should remain standing,” Mom ordered.
I glanced at her. She was still the stiff, stoic woman who had ordered I should be taken away earlier. She was still mad. Well, I wasn't expecting her to calm down anytime soon.
My face moved over to Ava, and she refused to look at me. I could feel the collective anger from everyone seated in the room, and honestly, I could not blame any of them.
“Justin has been taken to the hospital, and we’re assured he will make a full recovery,” Mom said after a few seconds of tense silence.
I nodded my head, fully aware that she hadn't scratched the surface of why we were here.
“I have spoken with Justin’s father, and he doesn't want to press charges,” she continued.
I wasn't surprised by that news. The man was trying to get my mom into his palms. This was just part of the game.
“However, I and many people seated here all agree that you should be punished.” Mom raised her head and locked her gaze on me, and I could tell for certain that whatever was about to go down would be pure chaos.
